Porters on the Lane
Porters on the Lane features an American menu. Highlighting steaks and seafood. Served in casual atmosphere with a choice of dining areas & menu options for any palette. There are four dining areas to choose from as well as the bar - The main dining room is spacious with navy & white decor located at the front of the restaurant with windows overlooking the porch & Bellport lane. Then we have the fireplace room which is located in the back of the restaurant, this quaint room has beautiful ivory tin walls & ceilings. A working stone fireplace from floor to ceiling which always makes this room popular in the winter or for private parties! We also have seating in the bar section at high top tables. Then the last option is the front porch which is open seasonally & weather permitting. This is a beautiful space for outdoor dining & certainly the most requested area when available.

"I've been here 4 times now and have never been disappointed. If you are interested in a bar atmosphere, Porter's has it. If you are interested in a girlfriend dinner or wish to grab a bite before or after a show/movie, it's possible. I was recently there for a romantic birthday dinner with by husband and the back room (with a field stone fireplace) fit the bill. In fact, I felt as if I stepped back into a Colonial-times atmosphere. Lots of ambience.
From steak to scallops, never a bad meal.
Next time we go back, we hope to dine al fresco on the front porch."

"Yes,love the room with the fireplace it was chilly out it was nice ,my family myself we had great steaks and a good kids menu ,we told the waitress we were heading over to the gateway Playhouse and she was very helpful and I definitely recommend it to friends and family"

"We chose Porters on the Lane due to a location that was near enough to everyone in our party. We also chose it for the price. We were more than pleasantly surprised to learn that it was not a buffet brunch, but a three course sit down brunch with extensive choices in a beautiful dining room with a relaxed atmosphere. We figured we would be rushed on Mother's Day, but that was not to be at this lovely restaurant and everyone enjoyed the exquisitely prepared plates.. Porters on the Lane is now on the top of my favorite restaurant list and I can't wait to return for their dinner menu."

"Took my wife there for a Mother's Day Brunch. First time going to Porter's Lane. Made reservation thru open table and they took us right in on time. Charming,decor. Staff friendly. Had a kids menu on mothers day as well. Food was delicious and spaced out nicely. Did not leave hungry or full. Just theright amount.

"service was good. food portion vs price was expensive. my wife ordered sea scallops, they were very chewy and lacked flavor. the meal comes with one side. We found the the price of the meal should include 2 sides. a portion of veggies would help accepting the high price for the meals. we will not be dining here again."

"We were seated promptly. Restaurant was very crowded and very loud. Food choices were good. Felt rushed to order dinner. We were with another couple and wanted to enjoy a drink before we ordered. Salad came quickly, was large and very good. Dinner was hot, vegetables were very salty (spinach). Surprised there was an incidental fee for a steak that cost $30+ to begin with. Have eaten here before and enjoyed, and will come back again."

"a great afternoon on the porch, still a bit chilly but a great precurser for the summer. oysters were perfect as usual!! staff is always great. food is delicious. sitting outside on a brisk day as people walk about this very quaint village is just great. and no doubt about it . Porters is the place to be. at 2 in the afternoon there was a wait to sit on the porch. glad we rented here for this season. by far the better of all the dining places in the village."

"we went with another couple - first time to Porter's for all of us. had heard through friends that it was a great place to go and boy were they correct! great food - foodie-centric for sure. good bar. very good staff. Extremely attentive and courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. Our server Katt was awesome. Loved the hostess' even which usually is the worst part of any restaurant. These girls up front were extremely nice and polite and not at all rude and obnoxious like most hostess' seem to be. Will definitely be back!"

"We were very pleased with Porters on the Lane. This is definitely the place locals frequent. Our visit was on St. Patrick's Day so the atmosphere was vibrant with traditional holiday music playing in the background. The restaurant is in an old house which adds to the charm & warmth. The menu had a great variety. Everything we had (except the bread, it was stale) was excellent--calamari, stuffed clams, fresh garden salad (simple, fresh) braised short ribs, scallops & risotto, and finally dessert. Chocolate cupcake with khalua cream center and chocolate drizzle that had some sort of liquor flavor topped with van. ice cream. No Sisco food here, that's for sure! I know this is too much information, but this place is worth the visit."

"Menu was very limited and we felt rushed. If that is their service style, they should ask if we were attending a show and adjust service time from there as they do in NYC. I think there were to many people working, so as soon as a plate was almost finished they were asking to take it."
