Pauline's
One of the Burlington area's most renowned restaurants. Pauline's Cafe & Restaurant is located on Shelburne Road (Rt. 7) in South Burlington Vermont. The restaurant services the surrounding communities of Shelburne, Burlington and Charlotte and is considerate one of the best places to celebrate events with fine food and wines. Our Contemporary American Cuisine features wild and cultivated edibles from the Lake Champlain Region. Pauline’s offers imaginative seasonally inspired menus, local products and a carefully selected wine list. Dining options include our café, upstairs restaurant, seasonal patio and private rooms.
Chef/Owner, David Hoene is known for his use of local products and for the outstanding quality of his cuisine. Pauline's is a great place to meet friends and company for delicious foods,fine wines and a wonderful time.

"My son was graduating from college and being Mother's Day as well many of the local restaurants in Burlington were booked well in advance. I found Pauline's after doing a search on TripAdvisor. The reviews were good but it was difficult to tell what the ambiance would be like and I didn't want to disappoint my family consisting of 3 teenage boys, graduating son, husband and mother. I'm happy to say Pauline's did not disappoint in the least. We were seated promptly and were able to order off the special Mother's Day brunch menu. From appetizers through dessert everything was superb. Everyone -- even my mother who isn't always easy to please -- raved about their meals. Don't hesitate to dine here. It was excellent!"

"We brought friends from Montreal for the Special Spring Menu that included ramps and fiddleheads. One of our guests raved that the gnocchi were the best she had ever had. I have to agree, they were as light as air and the pan- frying added another dimension to the experience. My husband loved the vegan chocolate pot de creme. It was made with coconut milk instead of heavy cream and yet it was smooth, silky, rich, and perhaps even better than the traditional method. I loved the pickled parsnip and ramp/fiddlehead appetizer. Kudos to the chef! It was the absolute perfect spring meal."

"Pauline's is a go to restaurant for me, my friends and my husband. There are many options for all food eaters - gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. I usually order a soup and a salad. They cannot disappoint! I recently had a butternut squash soup followed by the beet salad which had candied walnuts and goat cheese. Lunch or dinner is always preceded by homemade popovers and focaccia. Delicious!! I will be back soon!"

"Have gone to Pauline's over the years.
This last meal was pretty bad.
Amount if acidly salad dressing over oranges and beets was gross. Crab cake all breadcrumbs in a bland sauce.

"The Easter brunch was not what we expected. The food was VERY slow - we waited for over an hour after we ordered. I would have thought they would be more prepared for larger parties on Easter - we only had 6 people in our group. The food was only warm when it arrived and some of it was very over cooked. Sadly, not what we were hoping for."

"The Easter brunch was delicious with multiple choices. It was hard to choose. The eggs benedict on crab cake was luscious!! Our waitress, I think her name was Vanessa, was wonderful! "The bartender was very friendly, gracious and an excellent ambassador for the restuarant. I wish I had gotten her name. She should be commended for her attention to the customers.
The food was excellent! The salad had simple ingredients that were put together in a unique way that made the salad delicious and memorable. The curry in the squash soup was a great touch. The crab cakes were phenomenal! We had been there before and had the crab cakes. The menu was delicious but we couldn't help but order the crab cakes. We were not dissapointed.
The only negative was the waitress. She was not very attentive. We had to try to flag her down to get water."
