Rose Tattoo Cafe, a favorite American Bistro housed in an over 100 year Victorian building in the historic Art Museum area is a family run busines & has been serving the area since 1989. From the romantic ambiance on the balcony surrounded by plants & flowers to the lively bar with its original pressed-tin ceiling, the eclectic menu is memorable & perfect for romantic diners, drinks & appetizers after a long workday as well as business meetings. We have won Best Romantic Restaurant for the past 3 years. Great for lunch, dinner, lite fare & groups.

"I've been dining at this restaurant for over 6 years and it is always consistent. The service is excellent and the food is delicious and creative. I had the crab bisque which was loaded with chunks of lump crab meat and the special chicken salad of the day over lettuce - seasoned perfectly and not overpowered with mayonnaise. Love this place!"

"Had reservations for 4 for Mother's Day. Thought it would be really crowded but turned out to be perfectly managed. We were able to get there a little early, have a nice drink at the bar AND get seats at the bar! When our table was ready, we were notified so we could settle the bill. Promptly got seated and waited on. There was a wonderful red snapper as a special that 3 of us ordered. Very nicely done, wrapped in thin sliced potatoe and baked. Delicious! For desert there was a wonderul strawberry bread pudding that my daughter and her husband shared. I tasted it and sure wished I had ordered that! I just had the run-of-the-mill-can-get-it-anywhere creme brulee. Was a lovely ending to a wonderful Mother's Day!"

"I didn't know much about the place the first time I went, but we had a great time and decided to return. Every bit as good as the first time, especially the red snapper special. Biggest snapper filet I've ever seen, cooked perfectly in a tasty potato pocket and served on a bed of tomatoes, garlic, and spinach. Good service and a nice, quiet atmosphere for a Friday night. Nice to be able to hold a conversation without shouting."

"Wonderful!! The food was a joy--everything was delicious! I have eaten there twice lately and both times were excellent. The pasta dishes are especially unique--be sure to try them as an appetizer or as an entrée. The chocolate peanut butter dessert was heaven. Can't wait to go back!"

"We recently enjoyed a delicious meal at The Rose Tattoo. My husband passed out and the staff as well as other guests were so helpful. They stayed with us, called 911 and got an ambulance and were very reassuring, supportive, and professional. I cannot say enough. We will surely be back as we had a good outcome and my husband is fine, thanks to the Rose Tattoo staff."

"We celebrated my Aunt's birthday and needed a place that would meet a lot of divergent taste profiles. The Rose Tattoo fit the bill! Menu selection was wide and diverse and everyone enjoyed their selections. The service was very good...even though no one ordered dessert, the waitress brought my aunt a brownie sundae with a candle on the house. This was very thoughtful. Everyone agreed, we will be coming back."

We drive down on Friday night, check into the hotel, and walk about 8 blocks to the restaurant. The food and service are consistently great. "The Rose Tatoo has been around a long while, which is a testament to its food and service. Their attempt to stretch for Valentine's Day however, missed the mark. Reservations were filled with warnings about special menus and special prices, which seemed to be a turn off as there were many empty tables. The menu was eagerly anticipated...yet, it was dull. Nothing creative or unique. The portions were huge, the prices were jacked up, but in the end, it was a dull menu with average execution. How disappointing."

"We ate at the Rose Tattoo before going to the Barnes Collection. The location for that purpose could not be better. The restaurant is charming and the service was excellent. Each of the four of us enjoyed a different selection from a varied menu. Our waiter could not have been more accommodating to requests from one of our party with special dining needs. "They called before we got there to confirm reservation and gave us seating of choice. Celebrated a birthday and the birthday girl felt very well serviced. We had a ball, food was amazing (not just saying that), drinks and dessert will shoot your bill up and it's 18% gratuity for parties over 5...but it was well worth it."

"Bar very pleasant while waiting for table. Hostess not very friendly, though, and at first seated us at a table that was like sitting in a closet. We asked to move and she did move us to a better one upstairs--why not put us there in the first place? Waiter excellent. Food was very good but not extraordinary. Pleasant place for dinner. Quite expensive."

"This place gets lost in the new restaurant frenzy. But it's been excellent for many years and is better than ever. Great value, great portions (share an entree, please) and great desserts. When you're over the hipster madness, come back to straight-ahead good cooking and you'll be amazed at what you've been missing."

"I was anxious to try Rose Tattoo Cafe as it received nice ratings on Open Table. However, I did not find anything unique about the restaurant. I found more odd plates and was a bit disappointed. The beet and goat cheese salad came with fried goat cheese. I did not find that appealing but maybe other people did. The setting is nice but even the main courses offered were not anything new that was not offered at a competing restaurant in the city. I probably will not be back."

"I took my friend and co-worker to Rose Tattoo on Monday February 25th for her birthday. It was the first time being here for both of us. We've hung out on many occassions after work but I must say that the Rose Tattoo is the best by far. We love the way the dining room is decorated. I compared it to a rainforest. :) Our server (I forgot her name) was great and attentive to our needs. The food was excellent. My friend absolutely enjoyed her birthday and was glad that we picked the Rose Tattoo to celebrate at. I will definitely be back soon."

"Had dinner with a business associate staying at the Four Seasons hotel. Easy walk from there. We were seated in the upper level next to the wrought iron fence with a nice view of the bar below. It was early in the week, so relatively quiet. The food and wine choices were excellent and service was just right. Love the unique ambience and the tasty food!"

"We were driving home to Maryland after dinner, so we dined on the early side for a Saturday night (our reservation was at 6:45). The atmosphere was quiet upon our arrival, though it was clearly busier by the time we left (around 8:15). The food was superb; the service was welcoming and excellent. Our detailed requests were fully met (eg, salmon medium rare). It was our son's (19th) birthday, and though we were too full for dessert, we asked for a particular dessert item "to go". That item would have been served with ice cream; obviously, we had to decline that. Then, when our server brought us coffee, she brought the "birthday boy" a scoop of ice cream - with a candle in it! We had a truly delightful evening!"

"The ambiance. Is creative romantic. When user this in a restaurant what I hope is that the orchestration it takes to make a beautiful room applies to the food. Rose Tattoo doesn't disappoint. I've been there twice in the past few weeks. Loved the mushroom soup and home made ravioli. Light, delicious and nuanced. Great service, too"
