"We recommend that you go to this French bistro, too! Typically, the wait staff is great, but they were very busy on Mother's Day. I think the "moms" had the night off, which is good with me."

"I've been here frequently over the years. They are the prototypical French bistro, but with an english speaking staff. Recommend the mussels and coq au vin. House wine is a great value and deserts are excellent. Plan on going back again soon. Thanks..."

"The ambiance was nice and we were warmly greeted. However they may not have been prepared for a busy Mother's Day. Service was painfully slow (we were there for almost 2 hours), one person in the party had to wait longer (well over 5 minutes) for their dish after everyone else was served. Waiter rarely checked back and coffee was offered sporadically instead of to the entire table. Food was hit or miss - some dishes better than others. Very underwhelming experience."

"I visited the restaurant for a Mother's Day brunch. Either my server didn't get it, or she was not properly prepared for the event. She didn't know what menu options were available (the Open Table reservation text mentioned both their brunch and dinner menu's would be available.) She didn't offer the complimentary Mother's day drink (also mentioned online but not in the restaurant.) The resulting experience was a disappointing ping-pong game of asking the waitress a question about the Mother's Day options and her going to discuss the answers with the staff. Food was fair, I suspect the kitchen staff was also not in the loop on what was being offered, so the food was likely rushed."

"We went here for the first time and were surprised by the great food and the excellent service. restaurant was only about one-quarter full, and we felt as if we had the full attention of the entire staff. The menu items were diverse and had something for everyone, plus they had escargot, which is a favorite of mine. I would highly recommend this place to others and will be back again myself."

"So very French. If you sit outside, it's quiet. Excellent traditional bistro fare. The wild salmon was perfect. Their cocktails are excellent. Beats Left Bank in every way. The profiteroles are a MUST!"

"French Bistro decor, inside and out, gives one a sense of Paris. The waiters were thoughtful and informative as they attend to you. The appetizers - escargot and salmon carpaccio were delivered timely and were very fresh and delightfully presented. Our entrees of steak and salmon were not prepared until we were almost through with our appetizer. The entrees arrived hot and elegantly prepared. The steak was juicy and tender, grilled perfectly. The salmon was moist, tender with a light french sauce that tasted a bit like bearnaise. Desserts of creme brulee and profiteroles topped this sumptuous feast. We brought top rated wine since corkage is charged. The staff made us feel very welcome, comfortable without being intrusive. I'll be back."

"We had a group of 8 people for dinner; the service was slow and the server didn't seem to understand or take the time to understand was folks wanted. He also spoke very fast which made him difficult to understand coupled with his accent. The food was pretty mediocre as well. Due to it having been a hot day and the restaurant not having A/C, it was extremely hot in the restaurant; and our group was seated in an area with no ceiling fan (the rest of the restaurant had them). I'm sure it doesn't help that it's a bistro-style/open kitchen. We do these dinners monthly and we won't be back!"

"We found Bistro Vida on Open Table and decided to go there instead of the Left Bank next door in order to try something new. It was very cute and bistro-like and we were glad to see that they had some more reasonably priced items on the dinner menu. We had the steak sandwich was was lovely and a croque monsieur which looked and tasted exactly like one in Paris. Very nice."

"The quiche and hamburger that my wife and I ordered were tasty and our street-side table was delightful on a warm and sunny spring day. The service was a bit disapointing, as there were few diners and the waitress was very seldom seen. I never recieved the mustard I requested for my burger, and our lunch would have been miserable if the bus staff had not been as attentive as it was with ice tea and water re-fills.
This restaurant is conveniently located but needs to improve its service."

"It took them a long time to take our order and then our entrees must have taken more than 20 minutes to arrive. The bread they bring to the table had been heated but the middle was still cold which was unpleasant. I asked about the 3 course prix fixe and he said they weren't doing that...it's on the menu... with no limitations. The menu is half french half spanish in the names. This restaurant just didn't impress me."

"The decor does a great job reproducing a classic French Bistro. The food is good, and generally follows a French theme, but does not follow the French Bistro rule as closely as the decor. For example, I had a decent shrimp ceviche appetizer, but it's flavor was more of spicy mexican and came with tortilla chips."

"Pleasant, thoroughly mediocre. Best thing was the Negroni at the start of the meal - it was excellent. Nothing was bad, but nothing made me think of a return anytime soon. $85 (before tip) for a meal for two, which included one cocktail and no other alcohol, seems a bit steep for such a thoroughly mediocre meal."

"Can't understand the number of great reviews for this place. Went with great expectations and left very disappointed. The steak frites was a big let down -- great fries, steak was tender and well cooked, but it was SO salty I couldn't taste anything else. The brussels sprouts with the trout were steamed, large and a rather hard. The trout was dull. Pretty much everything was ho hum. The ambiance is nice and the wait staff are fine, but that can't come close to making up for, what to me and my dinning partner, was very mediocre food. A hug disappointment given the reviews on Open Table. Wow, just can't understand them!!"

"Another delicious meal at Bistro Vida! The wild salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked. The veges were perfectly cooked and so were the mashed potatoes. The salad was very fresh and the dressing was delicious. For dessert, profiteroles and creme brûlée were the perfect finish to a wonderful meal. Did I mention the coffee was exceptionally wonderful!
