The calamari appetizer was delectable. The ono and halibut delish. And of course the
huge piece of ice cream pie we shared finished off the evening on a sweet note.

"Party of four. One of our party had been to Duke's in Hawaii, and the rest of us were not familiar with the restaurant. We were looking for a pleasant place to meet visiting family. When made the reservation I was not aware that I was reserving a table for Brunch. We briefly considered moving to the bar area for a simpler lunch menu, but opted to go with the brunch. We were not disappointed, but on the contrary very pleasantly surprised."

"Duke's is now our "go to spot" for brunch, fresh food, incredible views, I love the fact that they keep the price lower, and don't include Champagne, we don't drink and it's nice to not have to pay for it! Very attentive service, the employees seem to take pride in their Jobs and their workplace, and it shows, The Ahi Poke is wonderful, the coconut french toast rocks!"

"I ws just a bit surprised at the prices, this used to be a middle of the road restaurant and now salads are ala carte with higher prices for the dinners. The food was good, but the restaurant was noiser than I remembered, maybe it was the room we were in. basically, if you look at what the recommendations are - I would have classified this as a neighborhood gem to frequent more oftern but now have moved to special occasion because of the expense of it."

"Great front row seat to the Pacific Ocean. Came here for lunch on a Tuesday in May 2013. Food is good with competitive prices. (Didn't feel like I was being gouged for a restaurant on one of the most popular beaches in the world.) Service was good, prompt, and friendly. Aloha atmosphere. Not noisey. Restaurant was not overly crowded. Parking just steps away from the restaurant. Parking machines take credit/debit (currently at $1.50/hour) or pay by quarters $0.25/15minutes). Plenty of parking. With the restaurant right at the pier, it's easy to go for a stroll and catch the beach action before or after dining. Looking forward to returning to enjoy the Barefoot Bar. Request an ocean view table when you book for party of 4 or less. Mahalo!"

"Made a reservation for Mothers day for 1115. Only negative about the whole experiance was the wait for valet parking. I knew downtown HB was going to be crowded. I made sure we arrived ten minutes early. I had the group get out, I got there at 1120.

"Our special occasion (BDs) request for a window side table was accomodated. Hostess greeting and seating was prompt and friendly. Our server (Dave) knew his menu well and his recommendations were spot on. His service and attentiveness was just right - not too frequent but close by when needed. Excellent range of fresh fish choices. We ordered the parmesean encrusted ono. Very good flavor, although slightly over cooked, but not enough to send back. The bok choi side dish was amazingly light and tasty with a special sauce that my wife enjoyed so much, she asked for an extra portion to be added to her take home box. The noise level in the window seats section was unusually high. Never the less the experience was very enjoyable overall."

"My only other Duke's experience was in Honolulu, where I thoroughly enjoyed it - but the vibe was much more casual there. After valet parking our cars, our two families sat in the middle of the dining room with a beautiful ocean view (as I believe all tables have ocean view). The food was fantastic and the prices were surprisingly inexpensive considering how this Duke's seemed less casual than the one in Hawaii I had been to! They had kids meal options and play mats to entertain the 5 kids! Of course all Duke's dinners must end with Hula Pie!!! What a great time - we'll be back next time on the PCH!"

"What a find. We dine out often and this restaurant is outstanding. The food is off the charts. On this night we took a group of 7 high school aged young men and women to dine as a special treat since they were involved in a competition for a few days in Anaheim. I don't think I have ever seen plates of food cleaned off so well. Everyone including myself was so impressed. Out waiter was also fabulous considering there were 7 kids with 2 adults. The views are to die for. Please drive to this restaurant to take a break from the routine that is Disney. Finish with the Hula pie. Also check out their website."

"We had a nice date night at Dukes on Saturday. It was a beautiful night and we had a beautiful window table in the enclosed patio. It did get a bit cold toward the end of our dinner, but the heaters were turned on by a request from another table and then it was fine. The food was amazing and we had a really nice time. The service was good. We did order a side dish that was never brought to the table, but we had enough food so decided not to bug the waiter about it and let it slide. It was not on the bill so all was fine. Overall, it was nice and we'll probably go back if we have another special date night in the future. But, we really liked the bar and we'll probably go back there for drinks and apps soon :)."

"I was very disappointed. I made the reservation a week in advance and asked for a view. I didn't worry too much because I was told that all tables have a good view. We were seated in the only spot in the restaurant that did not have a view. We could not tell that we were only a few feet from the sand.
My friend had to ask for a CLEAN steak knive. He ordered the chef's special - Rosemary Steak. It was probably the toughest piece of meat any of us had tasted.

My friend had to ask for a CLEAN steak knive. He ordered the chef's special - Rosemary Steak. It was probably the toughest piece of meat any of us had tasted.

"I wasn't overly optomistic. I was expecting your average overpriced frenetic brunch with average fare. I was pleasantly surprised with a really great and delicious buffet with the foods you expect on the buffet with a clever twist. The abundance of food was definitely not compromised by the quality of the food. The tuna tartar was worth rushing back for. In fact, I can't stop thinking about it! The service was friendly but not in the way and I am looking forward to our next brunch visit!"

"Went for my Father's birthday. We had reservations but had a change of number of people. They were very accommodating and within 10 minutes were seated. To our surprise, we were given window seats overlooking the beach and the pier. The waitress was ver friendly and always helpful. The Sunday brunch had so much to offer. Most of the food was fantastic, with a few exceptionsthat weren't. Overall we had a great experience."

"We had a guest visiting from out of town and it was the perfect place to go to dinner. The restaurant is situated right off the beach and give you great views of the pier and sunsets. The bread was piping hot and delicious and the fish was excellent! Our server was very attentive and efficient. We will definitely be back!"

"My Fiance made reservations for my 25yr annaversity with the company I work for.
The food and service was great. But the noise level was way to loud to carry on conversations and my parents who are older had a miserable time because of this.
For the price you pay there you would not expect to see people walking and sitting down in board shorts and bathing suits.
Now I remember why we dont really go there much..And we are HB locals to the downtown area.
As said before food and service was great..But other than that forget it."

"First definiterly make a reservation -- without one we would have waited over 1 1/2 hrs. Seared Ahi with 2 spices was execellent, MahiMahi baked "Duke" style was good but the sauce/spices were bland -- needed more garlic. Fabulous view -- we ate on the Lanai. Wines were well priced."

"Duke's was great. I have been here before and this time I had special guests from the Midwest celebrating a special occasion. The restaurant went out of their way to provide everything requested including a special table. Our two guests were suitably impressed. The persons welcoming you to the restaurant were all wonderfully cheerful; the wait staff were fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly throughout the meal. It was perfect."

"All of the food (sirloin and ahi, hummus, salads, bread, dessert) was excellent. The portions were perfect...not too much so we were able to enjoy all of our courses without ruining the rest. We ate all of everything except for the dessert. Service was great, everyone was very friendly, drinks remained filled, we did not go without. All at a reasonable price. Very pleased with our experience."

"Outstanding!! What struck me first, was that EVERY employee seem to truly enjoy working at Dukes, and each and every one went over and beyond to see that we had a memorable experience. The two who stood out over and above the rest were Jason(mgr)and Emily (our server). This is not a knock on the others. "We love Duke's in Hawaii, so we thought we'd take some out of town visitors to the one in Huntington Beach. We had a 7 PM reservation, confirmed earlier that day by phone, yet we had to wait 10 minutes for our table. Hostesses offered no reason or excuse, and people who came after us were given the same treatment. I mean, isn't the purpose of a reservation so that you don't have to wait? We were all a bit puzzled. Our waiter had absolutely no personality--just took our orders, thank you goodbye. Fish was well prepared, but the rest of the plate was covered with zucchini and other vegetables that had no flavor. Our guests enjoyed the view, the saving grace of the evening. We won't be coming back here anytime soon."
