Downtown Wilmington's landmark dining destination. At the foot of Market Street with balconies overlooking the Cape Fear River, a second floor "al fresco" dining room and views to the Battleship North Carolina. Built in 1854, the unique blue building is featured in countless renditions of Wilmington's historic waterfront and endures as one of the areas most recognized restaurants, not only for the character of the architecture but the quality of the cuisine.

"We were seated on the balcony overlooking the river and the sweet town of Wilmington. The food was great and service superb, but I think the atmosphere and setting outranked it all. Will go again -- one of those places that your mind takes a snapshot of and you replay over and over again..."

"The restaurant is great. OpenTable, with it's bogus "No-show" email, followed by an "I'm sorry" email about the bogus no-show email, followed by a "How was Riverboat Landing?" email, is a complete pain in the _ss. Oh, I forgot the "Don't forget" email. From now on I'm reserving directly with the restaurant and avoiding this torrent of OpenTable messaging. My nickname must be four characters to write a review? Does "Never Again" work for you, OpenTable?"

"I made reservations for a balcony table on the Friday before we went .. so glad that I did... They were booked & turning folks away! I did not realize until after I made our online reservation, however, that there was a disclaimer that online reservations did not guarantee balcony seating. I had made a special request to eat at one of those tables so I was concerned but for no reason. After only about a 5 minute wait, we were ushered to our own private little balcony overlooking Market Street with wonderful views of the Cape Fear. The sun was setting just over the SS North Carolina (our reservations were for 8pm.) The food was A.MAZ.ING! We had the sirloin and NY strip. The service was ok. Expensive but worth the splurge. GET DESSERT!"

"First time dining in downtown Wilmington and I was excited to have booked reservations at this historic and notable landmark. We arrived early and were warmly greeted as we were offered a bar seat while we waited. We were seated earlier than our reservation time and the staff apologized for the wait. The wait staff were very attentive and friendly. We sat in the front window area and although we felt it was an intimate setting, we were able to people watch as passerbys roamed the downtown area.
The food was great and overall it was a positive experience that will bring me back again."

"Let me first say that the food was good. The poor rating reflects the restaurant's management and hostesses. Reserved a table using Open Table and requested a balcony table (very romantic - overlooks the river). Hostess called asking us to change reservation time because they are over booked due to large parties. Said if we took dining room instead of balcony they could accommodate our reservation time (doesn't make sense to me either). Got to restaurant and four balconies were open. Dining room also did not look busy. Disappointed with they handled the seating and reservation. My only theory is that they save balconies for local diners. If you want a nice view of the river and great food, there are restaurants just up the river."

"My wife and I enjoyed the warm sunshine on a 'semi-private' 2nd floor balcony table overlooking the harbor in downtown Wilmington. The food was very good, prices seemed typical for the cuisine. We were sold on the ambiance. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall, a good experience."

"We had a reservation for four and a window table was requested but not honored. The restaurant was not busy but we waited 20 minutes before waitress came to table with water. Ordered mixed drinks and appetizers and they arrived promptly minus any silverware to eat the appetizer. Asked waitress for forks and she copped an attitude saying she would bring on her next trip out to table. Never apologized for lack of silverware. After we finished appetizers and bread, the entrees were brought to table. Table was small and crowded with appetizer and bread plates, water and wine glasses. We asked her to clear away these plates but were told she would get them later. Waitress spent inordinate amount of time chatting up the one bar customer."

"Went to this restaurant because we wanted someplace down on the river that could accommodate our party of 4 adults, 1 10 year old and 1 9 month old. OpenTable got us in. This location has many side rooms so it was just our party and one couple with 2 children. We still had views of the water. However, if there had been any other parties in the room, it would have been a tight squeeze.
Food was excellent albeit slow to come. Server was attentive without being on top of us.
FYI - you may need to climb stairs to get the good views."

"This restaurant has changed hands and names several times over the last couple of years, and while we've had a great time here in the past, this iteration doesn't seem to cut it. The food was decent but not fantastic, and the service was fine but not stellar. There are plenty of other Wilmington spots that cost the same but deliver far more. You can't beat those upstairs private balconies, though. Let's hope the food lives up to the fantastic location and building on their next reboot."

"The food was great. Service was very slow. I was with a group so we were socializing anyway, but had it been just a date or myself eating, it would have been an issue. It was noticeably slow. There was also a very loud wedding reception downstairs, but that was not the fault of the restaurant.

"Our first visit to Riverboat Landing a few months ago was pleasant, so I made reservations a month in advance for Valentine's Day. I stopped by two weeks later to confirm the reservation in person and request a particular table. The server was polite and helpful, and I was able to see her enter the note in the computer in front of me. When my girlfriend and I arrived, there were people seated at the table. We were seated at another table and given the "special" Valentine's menu, which offered relatively few choices, and unfortunately the ravioli that my gf enjoyed last time was nowhere to be found. The lack of menu options and the fact that they gave away my requested table compelled us to leave and go elsewhere, which was a wise move."

"Went here for Valentine's Day dinner. As expected they had a special menu for the day which was just the regular menu with jacked up prices. I was expecting this but I figured they would do a little something extra too. Not the case. The fillet was good but very small. Also they cut it and arraigned it on the plate to make the small portion look bigger. This is a personal disappoint for me. I don't like my steaks or tuna pre-cut and normally write off any restaurant that does this. Left there feeling ripped off rather then a great night for the price. I would recommend Riverboat but not on special holidays. Just go when prices are normal."

"We attended Riverboat Landing for Valentines day this year and it was yet another amazing restraunt downtown. The food was great... I advise getting the salmon stuffed with crab meat when you go. The service was spot on and if you want they offer private balcony tables with an amazing view of the river and battleship. As far as pricing goes it was a special occasion menu but it is usually between $15-$30."
