"So, I never knew this place was here buy after looking for a place to go on Sat night, saw some good reviews for Sojourn. We were not dissapointed as the food was wonderful. Shared dishes that were quite eclectic and was quite happening, even at 8:15pm. Would go back and truly liked the whole experience. You must get the Trout Salad - amazing."

"Celebrated our engagement party here and everything was absolutely amazing. Johnny was great with working out all the details with us. This can be a very nerve wrecking day and everything was perfect. Sammy was the manager and he was very accommodating and courteous. He was on top of the staff and ensured a truly great experience. Food was amazing, service amazing, wine amazing. I will be back for sure!"

"We had an excellent time! The staff did a great job accommodating us and the food and wine were wonderful. I am very picky about wine and this place satisfied me, and the server suggested the proper amount of food. Also very reasonable prices. "Well when we got there about 2 minutes late we discovered that they had given away our table, so that was not the best start. We did get offered free glasses of wine while we waited for something else to open up but only after we asked for it.
However, once we sat down everything was amazing! The food was great, rich and delicious and the portions were generous. The wine was great and the cheesecake was amazingly light and delicious.
I would recommend this place and I'll be back, but it's a hot spot you must make a reservation!"

"Celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, this was my first time to Sojourn, after hearing wonderful reviews from friends. The food was delicious and the menu broad. We had cheese with meats, asparagus w/ prosciutto, muscles, skirt steak w/ scallion fried rice, blueberry cheesecake, and a bottle of wine. Our server was very friendly and as I went to secretly ask him to put a candle in the dessert, he beat me to the punch and said he already knew and would have that done. The service in general was prompt, attentive, and quick. We left very satisfied."

We ordered a pitcher of sangria, which looked like a bottle of wine mixed with orange juice. There was no fruit and the juice and wine were not even mixed together. For a $34 pitcher, it was disappointing.
When we were seated, there was a piece of a chocolate cake on my chair and the paper menus had food stains on them. The food was surprisingly mediocre. Our waiter was great, and as a spot for drinks, Sojourn is great, but not for dinner. Great atmosphere though."

"Sojourn is my new neighborhood go-to. We ordered the scallops, the arugala salad, the burrata, and the short rib. My only complaint is that the mashed potatos with the short rib were like a salt lick...I'm not sure if the chef tasted them before they went out. This, however, is an anomaly; the food here is consistently good. Great spot for a date or dinner with friends!"

"Food was very good only so noisy that my friend and I were shouting to talk to each other. We were there on a Wed and the maitre 'd said it was usually quieter in the beginning of the week but there were several large parties there that night. It's a shame, cause I really liked the food,and the concept, great flavors, but not sure I would go back or recommend it , or at least would preface it with the noise factor. Maybe you have to be in your 20's or 30's not to be affected by it!!!!"

"Horrible service! The place was completed understaffed and unorganized. We have been there a number of times before and recommended it for brunch to our friends from out of town. It over an hour to get our food and we had to flag down the server for water, coffee, and the bill. Though we use to like the restaurant, because of this experience we will probably not go back. There are many good restaurants in the area, so don't waste your time, money and patience by going here!"

"Despite cork on the walls too noisy hold a conversation without yelling, so everyone is yelling. Nice then that the food s good and service is romping attentive so you can focus on the food. All f which was reasonably priced and quite tasty. I thought a main dish of Diver scallops at $19 a argin until they came and it was only 3 of them with nothing else but the sauce. Waiter should have made it clear that it was a small dish.
In a time where servings have gotten huge, smaller is better but as a first timer they should have warned us to have a Pizza delivered to the house as well."

"Came here on a busy Thursday night and I must say the service was amazing. They guided us throughout the entire sharing style menu and even helped pair some amazing wine to go with our food. We had the Arugula Salad, Spring Rolls, Ravioli, Salmon, and the melt in your mouth Kobe Sliders :)!! Coming back next week!"

"I think I have now gone to Sojourn for almost every occasion. This time was the night before Valentine's Day. I went for a romantic dinner experience and I got just that. It was perfect... we shared everything from the Wild Arugula Salad, Roasted Salmon to the tastiest Crepe with cream on top and strawberries. Thank you Sojourn for another amazing night."

"Came here the other night and I must say what an economical menu. They had great wine selection with even better prices! I had a glass of the Duton Goldfield Pinot Noir for 15 a glass. I've had it for 23 a glass at other places! Food was great had the Kobe Sliders, Arugula Salad, and Black Pasta. Server was very attentive and had a great knowledge of the food and wine. Definitely a staple!"

"My favorite neighborhood restaurant on the UES! The food is delicious, the service always great and we were lucky enough to go in when they had a band playing (on a Monday night!). I had friends in town from Ireland and they were so happy with everything which made my decision to go to Sojourn that much more successful! Live for the scallops, soooo delicious! Enjoy this downtown feel in an uptown neighborhood!"

"Terrible service, the waiter kept forgetting our table. Staff was constantly knocking into our table and one waiter spilled a glass of water on me (and did not offer any compensation, offered me a napkin and walked away). I will never go back!"

"Yes Sojourn has done it again. I know I always say how fabulous this restaurant is, but I have to give credit when credit is due. I went for brunch today with some friends that have never been before. From the greeting when we walked in to the quality of the food the entire brunch experience was perfect. I will of course be back, but I also think I made my friends want to be regulars too. Thank you again Sojourn for a great time."

"Sojourn was pretty packed but luckily we had a reservation. The host seemed either very new at his job or very distracted because when he was finally standing in one spot and I was able to tell him we were there for our reservation, he took another 10 minutes of running around to place us at a table that had been empty since we walked in.
That being said, the food was amazing. We all loved what we got. We got the octopus salad, chorizo & manchego croquettes (amazing), short ribs, fluke, salmon, fish tacos, and a side of Brussels sprouts which were delicious.
Service was impersonal and not very attentive. They forgot one of our entrees and didn't give us a discount or anything for it."

"I've been hanging out in the upper east side since I was in high school in the early 90s. This restaurant definitely brings something to the neighborhood for people that are a) not teenagers, b) not bar-hopping frat guy recent grad types and c) not parents with small children or old parents like the ones that tend to live in the ues. Bottom line: it's a great place for young professionals that want to go out to dinner at a cool place without having to go all the way downtown. Sojourn gives an option for the sometimes forgotten ues resident. The food is great and the atmosphere is lively and it feels "sceney"."
