"Since we enjoyed dining here previously, we chose this restaurant for our a family member's anniversary. No complaints on the food; however, one event soured the mood. Upon arrival, they gave us a table in the front foyer area. Since the restaurant was half empty with at least four similar banquet tables available in the main dining area, I requested one of those tables instead. We were told all had been "reserved" and reminded how I only made my reserv one day ago. I guess this was punishment. We were also told our table is one of the best - how coincidental that no one had "reserved" it. We were given a couple small apps by a mgr - nice gesture BUT a couple of those tables appeared empty all night. I guess we weren't "A" list enough."

"We arrived on time for our 5:15 Resi's. When the hostess seated us at a banquet she let us know they needed the table by 7pm. That kind of made us feel rushed and that's before we saw a menu. The server was nice but did not go over the specials nor was he sure which sushi rolls were which when served. The sushi was ok but we should have probably went to Blue Ribbon or Bond Street. The damage was $100 bucks for 4 rolls a glass of wine and we were still hungry."

"Fun experience, great menu, food delicious, servers were slammed so service was a little haphazard. If you're going to keep the lights this low in your restaurant, please de-bone the fish. I couldn't see the bones and ended up chewing on lots of them. Not pleasant. Otherwise, a lot of fun."

"Had to wait more than a half hour for all of our drinks to come out (two glasses of wine and a soda). They brought the wine right away, while the soda drinker waited. And waited. And waited. Took a half hour to flag down the waiter and another 10 minutes to get the drink. Had to wave down the server again when only half the order came out. And again when we wanted our check.
The food here is really fantastic and there's a great ambiance but on this occasion, the staff was lackluster."

"Food is good, not exceptional. Service from the waitstaff was fine, but the hostess was indifferent at best and we waited standing in the bar 20 minutes past reservation time. This place is the loudest I have ever been in, almost impossible to hear anyone at your own table. Really unpleasant from that standpoint making the overall experience a mixed bag, and not one we care to revisit."

"We have been here many times on our visits to NYC. This last time we found hostesses with attitude and the service was totally lacking at dinner.

"I had never heard of Lure Fishbar until Mother's Day was approaching, and I was on the hunt for a restaurant suitable enough for a grandma who has very picky food habits. My grandma and I were warmly welcomed and seated immediately upon our arrival. Service was fast and our waiter, although very busy with a few tables on Mother's Day, made sure to come check on us many times. The brunch menu was excellent and offered a wide selection of food for my grandma to choose from. As long as that picky eater was happy, I was happy. The atmosphere was great. The inside of the restaurant looks as if its modeled after a ship. Overall, it was a great experience and I do plan on making another visit."

"Food: Baked cod tasted good and cooked well. DON'T order their Asian-inspired dishes due to lack of authenticity (e.g. bland/watered down thai curry, awkward sushi). Come here for their fish, but go somewhere else for real Asian food! Didn't order desserts since the menu looks boring.
Service: So so, not the best and not the worst.
Ambience: Way too loud for a "restaurant", or does it want to be a bar? It's hard to be both and the food compromises in this case. A lot of girls dressed for clubbing and they sat at the bar for a long time. The lighting is also way too dim for a restaurant, when you cannot see what you're eating, it's dim! It felt like we were eating dinner at a loud pop concert.
Value: not the biggest bang for your buck."

"Overall, I'd give this a thumbs up, but not a big one. Food was good.....my husband really loved his salmon, but my lobster roll was not notable. Service was good, but quite frankly, the dinner was over so quickly, I hardly recall it. Had a 7:30 reservation, and they had us fed and out of there by 8:15, leaving us with the dilemma....what to do with the rest of the evening?? The thing that was memorable about the dining experience is that it was loud, not a place to have dinner conversation. So it was a decent meal, but it didn't feel like a real 'night out'. Maybe lunch is the way to go here."

"Maitre D' had nasty attitude problem. Told me that should I be seated at 6:30, they'd need the table back by 8. What? I asked them if that meant they would make me get up, they said yes, and they might move me - squeeze me in somewhere else. I had people in from out of town and it was a birthday celebration.
When I received the check, I slid my credit card into one of the pouches of the leather piece the bill came in. I handed it to the Maitre D'. They came back to me and claimed I did not give them a card even though everyone at the table saw me put it in the billfold pocket. It took them 10 minutes to finally find my card which had mysteriously slipped out (on purpose).

"Had dinner here and though it has been around for a while now, it's still decent food, good service, and a casual atmosphere. It's fun pretending to be sitting on a yacht. I miss Mallory but she is Miss America now! It's always crazy, busy, and a loud scene. The noise volume is suffocating. You have to yell to your dining companions. The surf & turf is tiny, a 3.oz filet mignon and the smallest lobster tail (like the size of one jumbo shrimp!), $48. The oysters are $3.95 each and the Lobster tempura Roll is $19. My only real complaint is the Classic Lobster Roll is smaller than it used to be, is drowning in mayo, plus it's not chunks of lobster like it used to be. I like this place but they're giving us 3 star Michelin prices now."

"I went with a friend for dinner. The waitstaff was very helpful in choosing oysters (which were delicious, I plan to return just for these alone) and we both enjoyed our entrees. It was not a cheap evening but am planning to come back again!"

"Visited for lunch. Many staff members, very few customers. Waitress seemed disinterested. Our main course was brought out before our appetizer. We actually finished our meals before the appetizer was delivered. Meanwhile the waitress seemed more concerned with chatting at the bar than doing her job. Probably will not eat here again."

"Baked Clams, weren't baked all the way through. Calimari had good sauce on it but also wasn't cooked enough. My girlfriend ordered a plate that came out as a whole fish, usually they tell you if it comes out with head and tail. Didn't look too good, almost like a fish stew. The waitress was nice enough to take it back. Then she ordered the cod. Came out and wasn't cooked all the way through again. My lobster tail was pretty good, but not that great."

"this is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. we arrived early and we were able to be seated! that was great. from beginning to end the service was wonderful. our server, christiann (sp) was great and attentive. everything that makes a great server. she recommended great stuff all that we enjoyed. the new york strip with teriyaki, jalapeno and mushrooms was incredible. my boyfriend is still talking about it, i had to fight for a bite! it was a great experience."
