"If your a serious foodie" or "if romance is calling, sail on up" - literally - to this "French gem" on the Vermilion River, where the "sumptuous" menu and "professional but friendly" staff earn it the top rating from Food and Service in the Cleveland area; "well worth the drive" west of downtown , this "ethereal experience" (the perfect place to propose!") also includes a phenomenal wine list", "charming old world dining room" and "relaxing" riverfront cafe. Proper attire required.
Touché a martini/wine bar was opened in 2007 and offers a "small plates" menu and a great selection of adult beverages.

"Perfect sophisticated dining. The ambience is luxurious in that it is formal and beautiful, but in a way that is also very comfortable and suited to its location on the water in Vermillion. Matt is an amazing co-owner in all that he remembers and makes happen in the dining room. John is equally amazaing in the quality and consistency of the food. Two male and food-loving friends of mine described their entrees as "maybe the best beef I have ever eaten." I feel the same about the fish. Each person who works there does their job with pride, charm and a high level of skill. It all makes for a special, relaxing and memorable meal."

"I went here with my girlfriend for our anniversary. It was incredibly romantic. The food was delicious and it was the best service I have ever had at any restaurant. The staff was attentive and worked hard to make our experience as great as it was. They suggested wines and dishes that would pair nicely and went above and beyond consistently. I would highly recommend coming here for any special occasion."

"My family and I thoroughly enjoyed an exceptional, leisurely dinner. Each of our meals were superb, beautifully presented, by responsive and knowledgeable servers. Works of Art providing both visual treats as well as palatable delights with each morsel. The food brought smiles to our faces as we eagerly explored each preparation. Kudos!
A truly wonderful dining experience as we celebrated our daughter's 21st birthday, who has traveled to France and greatly enjoys fine cuisine. Well worth the 80 mile drive from Toledo. We'll be back!"

My husband and I reveled in the leisurely dining experience that took us from beef carpaccio, to lamb and veal, and finally decadent chocolate cake with a sampling of port. It is well worth the trip to the quaint town of Vermilion; you will not be disappointed."

"Chez Francois was a fantastic restaurant. The food and wine are suburb. I had the duck breast and my friend had the rack of lamb. Both were delicious, and we split a lobster truffle ravioli. The portions were very sufficient, especially for fine dining. This is not a cheap date, you can easily spent $100 per person if you order wine and appetizers in addition to entrees...and if you get the $3000 bottle on the list, well, you can spend as much as you want here."

"We went for a special occasion and hadn't been there in some time but we decided we should go more frequently. It is wonderful place for having a quiet dinner for two, the food was excellent and the wine list was great, especially having 1/2 bottles available allows you to have more than one kind of wine. Service is excellent also. Would highly recommend it to anyone."

"I would recommend this place to everyone who wants to go out for a romantic, pampered evening. I took my girlfriend there last year for her birthday. Then again this past Tuesday for it again. I've never been to a place like this, but out wad spectacular. Out was a true experience. Not just a dinner. I will be there again, without question."

"We were there for Easter dinner. They had both a special Easter menu plus the regular dinner menu avaliable. The Easter menu was prix fixe, four course. All of the food was of their usual high quality. The only downgrade was our waitress forgot one of our drinks - twice. She then brought the wrong one, but did comp us for the correct one, which was as it should be in a fine dining restaurant. Overall a great experience as I expected it would be."

"Excellent as always. Staff went beyond the call to accomodate sister's dairy allergies (not easy in a French restaurant!). One criticism - for some reason the kitchen went a little overboard with potatoes. Two entrees had potatoes two ways, and the scallops in the coquilles st. jacques appetizer sat in large bed of mashed potatoes that overwhelmed the great sherry sauce."

"We ate in the more casual dining area, Touche. We were offered both the downstairs (more formal, expensive menu) and the Touche/Parisian Room (bar) small plates menu. These, however, are NOT small plates by any stretch of the mind. My salad and lobster ravioli were perfection. My friend ordered the "small plate" herb meatloaf and was served 3 slices of meatloaf over mashed potatoes-a take home box was needed! The mushroom soup had an exquisite earthy taste, and it was garnished with duck confit. I have NEVER had a single thing that was not 100% delicious at Chez Francois. Our waitress was delightful and the onwer, Matt, regularly makes the rounds to each of the tables chatting with guests. It is the BEST restaurant in the area by far!"
