"Great!! I mentioned that it was my friend's 30th birthday and they had hand made a birthday card and put rose petals on the table!! Usually you have to remind the waiter about 1 million times to get anything special for a birthday. I had never been before, and now I will go whenever there is a special occasion! Wait staff, etc was really pleasant and not too stuffy!! Loved it!"

"Perfect setting, good service. The ingredients were outstanding and generous portions but the finished product didn't meet my expectations. We went on the Dine Around deal Tuesday night. Both salads had too much dressing and the lobster in the lobster duo entree was too salty - both the Tempura and the butter dipped piece."

"I am always impressed by Palisade, they have an amazing menu, view, and ambiance. They have a waterfall/lagoon that you walk over to get to the tables. Living in the water are starfish, sea creatures, and fish (very cool to see)."

"My husband and I enjoyed a great time. The food taste excellent except I think my salmon bisque is a little too salty. The server was knowledgable about the food and wine and was able to recommend a pairing wine that is quite perfect. One thing of note is that the food was served a little bit on the slow side consider that the place is only half full. Not that it bothers us too much because the environment is cozy yet not overly crowded that we are able to chat without feeling like being overheard."

"Palisades had been one of our favorite restaurants for special occasions for the last several years. Don't know if there was a chef change within the last year or not, but we noted a different menu, with fewer selections & missing some favorites. Also noted many dishes we have enjoyed in the past had been altered. Food was good, but not as good as it used to be, & the presentation was less dynamic than in the past. May just be a sign of the economy, but little niceties such as a card & flower petals for special occassions were missing. Hopefully this is the case, and as the economy picks up, they will return to some of their signature touches on the menu & in presentation. Hoping it is not the sign of a new chef needing to make his mark!"

"Once again, did not disappoint. It has become a regular request for our adult children to celebrate their birthday. They wonderfully accommodated both our 4 year old Grandson and 86 year old Grandmother (in a wheelchair). This time our server, Stephen was wonderful. A previous trip the service was not so good but we assumed it was one server...turns out we were right.

We love this place!"

"We went for the 3 for $30 dine around Seattle deal and it was fantastic. Normally Palisade would be too expensive for us, but their 3 courses for $30 was the perfect opportunity to try it out. The Lobster was incredible, although very rich, and the chocolate mousse cake was equally indulgent. Even the salad with blue cheese was perfectly assembled."

"This restaurant has always been a favorite of mine for their Sunday Brunch. I was shocked to see a dramatic difference in their menu. All the old favorites were missing and their "pea salad" was no where to be found on the buffet. After asking about it I found out that their new chef decided to replace it with the couscous salad. Not a good replacement! Based on this visit I will not be back and am sad to say it as I have been going to Palisades for over 10 years."

"I visited Palisade for a business lunch. Arriving at 11:30 AM we had the place to ourselves. We were given great seats by the windows with a panoramic view of the bay and city. The service was fast, the prices reasonable and it was quiet, even when the lunch crowd arrived, and so perfert for client discussion. The tables are widely spaced, another advantage when discussing business. The food was excellent with innovative use of spice, herbs and other ingredients. Serving size was on the large side. They also offer a number 3 course lunches which are a great value. The restaurant is tricky to get to so be sure to get clear directions."

"Dine around Seattle lead me to this place. It was marvelous from the minute I walked in! The fusion (Chinese, Japanese, American) decor from the entrance to our table fit very nicely together. My wife and I had steak and lobster for the first time! I had the lobster and I loved it."

"Though I had been to Palisade many times for brunch, this was only the 2nd dinner visit. I must say that the meal was excellent and much improved from the last time I had dinner there about 2 years before.

My friend and I both got the Beef and Prawns and thought it was delicious. Our desserts were unbelievable! I had to take mine home! (My husband thoroughly enjoyed it!)

I look forward to coming back for dinner again."

"We had a party of 6 but two of them showed up 10 minutes early and waited in the bar. I called ahead to our party who communicated to the hostess that 4 of us were stuck on the 520 bridge and would be late. The hostess said no problem and promptly gave our table away. We got there 25 minutes late and I asked what was happening and she showed great joy telling me she gave the table away. I asked why she didn't just have our party that was there take the table and she said, "what?" I said "I am sorry, I should have called you directly," She was set for a fight it was truly unbelievable. The food was great and everything else has always been good there."

"We've been to Palisade many times, & have always been impressed by the food. Too often, though, we've been underwhelmed by the service. Unfortunately, this visit was similar. We ordered first courses & let the waiter know we were reviewing the wine list. After 15 minutes or so, our first courses were delivered by another waiter. We asked him to send our waiter over so we could order wine. Another 5 minutes or so went by. We were well into our first courses with no wine, and no bread. Suddenly our second course arrived, via the second waiter. It was clearly going to get cold before we could eat it, so we had to send it back. After another 5 minutes, our wine order was finally taken, with no apologies for the delay."

"Beautiful view, wonderful food and wine...the only complaint I have is that we ate early, (5:15), so there were not many people there, yet they seated us smack dab in the middle of 3 or 4 noisy tables - I thought we could have been spread out just a little more. There were tons of open tables.

"This was quite the experience! From the moment my friend and I walked in, the ambiance was overwhelming (in a wonderful way). The hostess was genuinely friendly and enthused to be working at Palisade. We were seated at the window with an amazing view of the city/water/boats. The food was absolutely incredible! We had the river rogue blue cheese salad, the lobster (wow) and the chocolate cake. Everything was perfect down to the details. "just like the reviews I have read, they had rose petals on the table for my girlfriends birthday. We ordered off the 3 of $30 menu, this offer had just started the day before our dinner. We got there just before sunset (5:45) and had a window table. I ordered the steak and prawns and my girlfriend ordered the lobster two ways. The steak was cooked to ordered, Medium. A little too salty for my taste. My GF didnt eat her lobster so i ate it, also too salty. The included salads and desserts were nothing to write about. It was an OK night but i wont go there again. The food was just not that good. Dont know if they just dont try that hard on the 3 for 30 menu. I saw many others order the 3 for 30."

"We really enjoyed our experience at Palisade"s for dinner. A friend that I recently have been reacquainted with from Walla Walla told us that they love this restaurant and so we gave it a try. We now love it! We are from Salem and will be returning to Palisade's and telling our friends about it. We were impressed from the moment we walked in the door to the end of the evening. Great Views of the City lights, Elliott Bay and the koi ponds inside. The dinner burst with amazing flavors. We enjoyed Walla Walla Wines from an extensive list. Our palates were filled with several amazing experiences from the Ahi tower to the Diver Scallops and Steak. Our waiter was personal, informative and outstanding."

"We had a great time having brunch at the Palisade. The steak I had was quite possibly the best ever. The pancakes are great too. I highly recommend Palisade to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion. Although it's expensive, you come away feeling satisfied with the experience."

"The service was outstanding. They really do go out of there way to make sure everything is to your liking. I especially appreciated that the menu was not set in stone. We got our directions from google maps and got a little lost. Apparently most of the maps have you take the Magnolia bridge all the way up. Instead you should take the exit to the Marina and just follow that road and it will take you right to the Palisades."

"I have been to Palisades many times and have never yet been disappointed. This latest visit also did not disappoint. It was a little pricey, but for a once a year or twice a year visit is well worth it. The steak and salmon dishes were well prepared and the tastes were out of this world. The salads, breads and desserts were nice compliments to the meal. The wines suggested by the waiter were also spot on."

In 70 years of life and worldly travels I have never found an restaurant that can exceed the food and service of the Palisades .. It actually represents value and a wonderful menu. The service is unbeatable."

"We had brunch on Valentine's Day and as usual, the food was very good. The Luau Bar had both crab and shrimp as well as smoked salmon and many salads. My husband was a bit disappointed in his Crab Hash, saying there wasn't much crab in it but my Kobe Steak and Eggs was excellent. Service seemed a bit off from what we've come to expect at RUI. OUt server and another kept chatting about when they were getting off and we went quite a while before any finished plates were picked up. Other than that, a great time."

"Great for parties of 4 or 6. They placed our party of 10 where the patrons entered the main dining area -- so, besides the brush of people coming and going we had a limited view of the city. The table was large and round which meant that we could only talk to the person directly on our right or left. To talk to someone across the table meant that we had to get up and walk over to them. The food was very good and the service was just fine but, I felt that for the price we didn't get the experience we needed for our special occasion."

"Palisade, as always, was WONDERFUL! You have NEVER let us down. We were there to celebrate our anniversary. The drinks, dinner and dessert were all great. "We've dined at Palisades three or four times in the past few years and love the food and restaurant. What does bother me a little bit is the last couple times we've come for my fiance's birthday, I've requested a nice table if possible and both times have gotten not-so-nice tables. The first time we got one near a server/bussing station set further in and this last time if the hostess had given us the option of waiting a few more minutes for a table by the window, we would have gladly done so. Instead we were seated at a table in the middle with a fair amount of traffic going by on either side since they are close together. Service this last time was only good - I hope it was just an off night for them. Overall, we will likely return."

"Excellent for a special occasion, a bit pricey for regular dining. My wife and I shared an appetizer, and then not only did the waitress/chef split a single salad onto two plates, but they also did a "split-and-marry" on two entrees - we had two entrees that were split onto our two plates - at no charge. Very nice way to get a three course meal.

Food was better than very good, though perhaps not quite truly "outstanding" - the crab and lobster dip was very nice, but a bit strong. Salad and bread were fantastic. The cod was outstanding, but the crab-stuffed mahi mahi was only very good.

Atmosphere was very nice - muted, calm, but just a touch louder than I would have liked. Great view, and we sat for a good 2-hour meal."

"We have had some fantastic experiences at Palisade in the past, but we were underwhelmed on Monday. It might just be that that is the night off for most of the usual staff. The food was good, just definitely not $35-50 a plate good. Good like I can make at home good. Our waiter was clearly put out that we weren't ordering alcohol and we had to ask twice for other drinks (twice). We'll give them another try in the future, but for the prices, two strikes and they're out."

"Palisade was not what I expected. Looking at the menu online before visiting, I was expecting to order steak and lobster, but when we got there it turned out their specialty was "Hawaiian food".

I consequently chose the special Opah, which came served with a jasmine scented rice cake and a drizzle of coconut curry. The fish was cooked fantastically, and the flavours were excellent. My only criticism would be that it was all a little oily; I like my fish fresh and light, and the fried rice cake really made it all a little heavy.

My wife had Kobe steak with scallops. The steak and scallops were cooked excellently, and the vegetables were interesting.

If I went back, I'd order a steak.

The waiter was friendly and professional."

"Complimentary valet parking was a plus. This restaurant definitely exceeded my expectations. Our waiter gave amazing wine pairing recommendations and was great at checking in. Not too overbearing but not absent either. I had the surf & turf option. I could have used a better starch than beluga lentils but the steak and scallops were cooked to near perfection! My guest had the bisque to start and salmon. The bisque was good - it was a little overpowered by the aromatics that were likely only supposed to be a garnish. But the flavor palate was still good. I'll definitely be back for another special occasion dinner."

"We were a group of five who had all previously dined at Palisade and chose it to dine on our son's last evening before departing back to college after Christmas. "It was a beautiful lunch and wonderful food. My only criticism is that the service is especially slow. I have been there two times for lunch in the past two months and it takes quite awhile to get the food. Would be a great idea to have the opportunity to tell your wait person that you have only an hour for lunch and so you can get in and out in just over that time. Might actually come more often."

"Service EXTREMELY poor -- we sat at our table (after being seated promptly uopon our arrival) for what seemed like eternity before the wait person arrived. After we placed our order (a simply order -- one salad to share, two entries and two drinks), it took forever for a basket of bread to arrive. Then more waiting before the salad arrived and more waiting until our meals arrived. The cooks could be heard yelling in the kitchen which took away from the otherwise nice atmosphere and ambience. The wait person "checked on" us a couple of times, but it was as she was walking by rather than actually coming over to our table, stopping and talking to us. The place was busy (but it usually is) so, all in all, not the serivce you should expect."

"Love this restaurant!! It is expensive, but well worth saving up and having a great meal. We prefer a late lunch because there are fewer people and lunch prices are a little less expensive. "I have taken groups to the Palisade for the past few years. As usual, the food was incredible. The trio tower of appetizers went over big. Everyone raved about the kobe beef and sticky rice. Out of a party of 9 there was only one that was disappointed with his planked salmon. It used to be served on a plank and the portions were bigger. Also, it was a bit undercooked for him and the salmon mousse in the baked tomato was just too much with the salmon. That is the only complaint. The ahi tuna got rave reviews by my son and his wife as did the sushi. The crab legs were incredible and the filet mignon, mothwatering. I had the crab stuffed tiger prawns--very rich and very good. We all had a wonderful evening topped off by the desserts!"

"The night before I asked my girlfriend to marry me I made an online reservation at Palisade and will never regret it. The restaurant had an incredibly extensive wine list, from the glass to the bottle, that could satisfy any foodie or everyday consumer alike. The food was fantastic (I went with the chef's halibut cheeks personally), well cooked, and with great presentation. It was perfect for my occasion, being a graduate student with enough money to blow at a $20-40 plate to celebrate the rest of my life with my girlfriend. I've experienced lots of seafood as it is my preferred taste, and I must compliment the finesse and flavor of both their halibut cheeks and crab stuffed salmon (what my now fiance had ordered)."

"I took a very special friend there for her birthday. The server was a little short and rude. Service was also uncommonly slow. When I asked about the rewards cards that I keep forgetting to ask for when dining there, she told me that I had to go online to get it. I told her I was just online when I made my reservations with you guys, and the website said to get it from the server. She just about called me a liar in front of my friend. I asked her to check with her manager, then she came back with the card and some flimsy excuse about luckily having an "extra" one, but that wasn't the normal procedure. Not a good first impression for my friend, or me. It certainly put a damper on our celebration."

"A couple of friends and I went to Palisade for Thanksgiving. We had gone last year and had a wonderful turkey dinner. Everyone at our table ordered the Thanksgiving special dinner with turkey,stuffing, etc. When the food arrived, all of our food was cold and the gravy was hard and dried. It appeared the plates had been sitting out for quite some time. For $32 a plate, we expected better than this and promptly returned the food. The server was quite apologetic and brought us a complementary appetizer while our new entrees from the regular menu were prepared. The replacement dishes consisting of lamb, prime rib and crab were wonderful. Overall not a bad experience, but the Thanksgiving plate was shockingly not up to the normal standards."

"The restaurant was great. The food was amazing and the early seating price is impossible to beat. The view was even better. From our table we could see all of Seattle lit up from queen anne to downtown to alkai. I will definately return."

"Made a reservation about a week and a half in advance. Was right on time. Gave us an amazing view of the Seattle skyline. Even the appetizer was incredible. Can not say enough about how well I was served. Only problem is that mapquest was completely wrong in getting us there."

"The food is always great. It is beautiful to look at and equally delicious to taste. My only complaint was how long it took to get our lunch. We gave ourselves 2 hours and that was tough to do. I ended having to leave quickly during dessert to drop one person in our party off and then come back. The restaurant was not full...so not sure why it took so long to cook our salmon lunches on the Magnolia special menu.Service was good and the view always great!"

"It was a VERY nice dinner. Our 40th anniversary will not be forgotten. Our waiter was very knowledgable about the wine list and attentive after we made our selections. The food was almost as good as home cooking. ((humor alert)) We plan to return to Palisade on non-holiday times!"

"The Palisades rocks! The food, the setting, the cuisine and the incredible wait staff made our Thanksgiving very special! KUDOS to Open Table Diner's Choice as well as the Palisades for an amazing dinner and evening. Everyone was so friendly that it made it feel like we were at home! We will definitively return as we even bought gift certificates for future dining opportunities. Open Table made it perfect as we were even able to sit at a window to enjoy the spectacular view! "My wife and I enjoyed our dining experience at Palisades, from the bar, where the service was great and attentive, to the dining room where is was busy, but never to busy to stop and make sure everything was fine. The food was excellent and presented well. With the skyline of downtown, to the ferries on the Sound, it makes for a wonderful dining experience with just the scenery alone, then add the dining experience on top of that, in my opinion, nothing in Seattle can compete!!"

"We both had the turkey Thanksgiving dinner.
The green bean casserole was cold and beans were so "al dente" they were hard to chew.

The turkey was undercooked to the point of being tough."

"We had a great experience on one of their busiest nights, Thanksgiving. No one in our party ordered the traditional fair. Thus, our meals took a long time getting to the table. Everyone was satisifed and left happy. We also had children and felt the kids menu was fairly extensive and appropriate for older children who are not quite up to the adult menu. The server was helpful, and attentive, but very busy. The view is amazing."

"Our Thanksgiving Day reservation was for 2:15. We were seated promptly at a nice table for two. The south-facing side of the restaurant is a massive wall of windows facing a panoramic vista of, from l to r: Cascade peaks, the Space Needle and downtown skyline, Mount Rainier, Duwamish Head, the Olympic peaks - altogether an unsurpassed view. The place is pricey, so it's best for those that have no cares about what they pay to eat. Our Thanksgiving dinner was pleasant but rather Spartan: a fair little pile of turkey, string beans, and a scant 1/2 scoop each of mashed potatoes and dressing. Food was barely warm. With two glasses of wine apiece and no dessert the tab was just over $100. We enjoyed our visit, but will probably not return."

"We had the absolute best waitress; even if the food had not been outstanding, we would have come back beccause of the great service. It was nice that they had a three course lunch special for $15. Of course the view was better than ever. I got lost finding the restaurant and it took an extra half hour to get there, but it was more than worth the effort. This is one of my favorite restaurants for special occasions---which this was; our daughter had just gotten home from college for the Thanksgiving break. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone."
