"We stopped here for Mother's Day. Exceptional food and service. I enjoyed the cod rolled in ground up pistachio nuts and spouse ordered the scallops. Best scallops around. Comfortable setting and atmosphere. We have come here many times and have never been disappointed."

"Superb flavorful rendition of Pork Saltimbocca. Excellent prosciutto. Spinach and side pasta very good. Excellent Pecan-crusted Cod. The fish retained good texture and flavor; shows that a basic fish prepared properly becomes very good fish. The chef is smart enough to know that a "crusting" does not just mean a token coating of nut dust; it means significant application of quality crushed pecans in this case. Service which started well slowed a bit when a neighboring table of at least eight gentlemen apparently asked the server to describe the entire menu. Wine list good. Atmosphere very good. I'm not local, but I would return when in Indianapolis."

"We met an old friend that we hadn't seen in 10 years there on Mother's Day evening. We were seated right away. We spent 3 hours catching up while enjoying a wonderful dinner. Our waiter was excellent and seemed to know how to give us just long enough pauses between visits. The evening was great. The food was of outstanding quality. The service was professional. Our experience was great, I hope yours is too."

"We had 8 people for Mother's Day brunch, ages ranged from teens to seniors. Our meals covered breakfast, sandwiches, salads and lunch entrees. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We also ordered dessert and a bottle of wine.Again, satisfied. The noise level and ambience were comfortable. We could visit and have fun without disturbing others. The wait staff was great. They were friendly and attentive but not hovering."

"The Mother's Day brunch has become a family tradition, not only for the food, but the excellent service. Never felt hurried even though the tables were full the whole time we were there. I would definitely recommend Palomino."

"My girlfriend and I went for a special occasion. The atmosphere is conducive for Intemate conversation and a quiet evening. Our server was prompt and pleasantly conversational throughout the service. Reasonably priced for outstanding food. I highly recommend."

"I used to totally LOVE this restaurant for both lunch and dinner, and entertained there as well. But then I retired and moved, so I had not been there for awhile. When I went back the other night with friends, except for an excellent server, I was a little disappointed. The overall decor was not as pretty as it used to be, the food quality was not quite as good, and the staff did not seem as excited about the restaurant and the customers any more. It used to be that as you arrived and left, four or five people would be greeting you, thanking you, telling you to come back soon, saying goodbye, and so forth. We did not experience anything like that this time. The energy level was just low. Maybe it was just an "off night"; I hope so."

"The cocktails we ordered were decent if only a bit weak. The appetizer 'Brick Oven Roasted Mussels' was excellent! It was a great way to start off a meal. For entree's, my wife had the Signature Paella, it was definitely below average. The rice was mushy, the salmon way overcooked and some of the mussels hadn't been cleaned properly and she often had the unpleasant experience of chewing on grit. My entree was the nightly special, Honey Peppercorn Salmon with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The salmon was fine. Honestly nothing special and something I could have easily made from home, the same could be said for the mashed potatoes. The asparagus was undercooked (yes, some people do like it that way) and under seasoned. Service was fine."

"My sister and I took my mom to dinner here for her 50th birthday. I researched the menu ahead of time and had heard many raves about the roasted garlic appetizer from friends. We went on a weeknight so the dining room was quiet and relaxing. We had a great waiter that helped my mom with the perfect wine selection and kept the meal going at our pace. We had the garlic appetizer and for entrees the lamb & the grilled prawns with mushroom risotto. Everything was amazing! The risotto was flavorful and comforting and the lamb my sister ordered was well-cooked and delicious. We had cake waiting at home so we didn't order dessert but still the waiter brought out a small creme brulee for the three of us to share, free of charge."

"I love Palomino! The food and drinks are very good. The location downtown is great, right in the center of things. This place is definitely one of my favorites. The lunch combos are fantastic and the sizes are just right for indulging in pasta favorites without being over-stuffed!"

"I came with a group during a conference and though it was a packed night and we made reservations we had to wait a bit. The hostess was very cordial and made sure to update us periodoically when our table would be ready - we probably waited for 15 minutes. So from the beginning the staff was friendly and accomodating. The food was great and not your typical Caesar salad and some sort of meat with grilled veggies and mash. I had the maple chicken salad and it was amazing - unique and different flavors complimenting each other so tastefully! The rest of my group had plates that they all really enjoyed also. For dessert we shared the donuts with nutella - sounds good but not the best. Overall we loved it. Waiter was fantastic as well :)"

"Hadn't been to Palomino for years, but service and food were as good as I'd remembered. I wish I could remember our waiter's name...he was terrific! Maytag chopped salads were amazing and maybe best of the meal, tho grilled shrimp and paella with scallops were very good , too. Thanks to the greeters and our waiter for treating us to a nice dessert in honor of our anniversary ... Nice touch! Ambience lacks a bit as the restaurant is so large and so loud, but it didn't keep us from enjoying our meal."

"This will be our place for our birthdays and anniversaries. The food and atmosphere is classy. Your greeted with a smile as you enter. To me your treated as their only customer. "Great atmosphere and service as usual. We liked the smaller portions in the meals from the small menu. Dan our server was a very enthusiastic and knowledgable waiter, but a little busy. I've always loved the mushroom soup but someone seems to have tinkered with the recipe -- why all the non-mushroom ingredients? Why fix something that was not broken."

"I didn't get our server's name (male) but he was fabulous and so patient and helpful! Awesome job.

I'd suggest they could work on their wine list providing more variety of some bottles of red in the $40-60 range."

"This is a gem in the heart of fine restaurants in Indianapolis. High level service with knowledgeable waiters on the details of each dish. Very nice wine selection.

It is a place to 'see' and be 'seen' if you desire.

Always a superb fish selection. The pistachio cod was robust with flavor."

"We had a great Easter Sunday brunch with tasty dishes not usually on the menu. My crabmeat crepes were delicious, with lots of crabmeat. A friend loved his favorite asiago-crusted tilapia, and my son said the prime rib with eggs was excellent and perfectly cooked. We split the donuts for dessert; some cinnamon sugar for them instead of mascarpone and nutella would be a good addition. Another lovely meal!"

"Food was great. Portions aren't huge, but it's delicious.

Ambience was nice. Lots of basketball fans there due to March Madness. So a mix of semi-formal and casual (team jersey) attire. Some fans doing chants, which seemed a little out of place for the ambience.

Waitress was ok - not present much and seemed to have a forced smile, even though we weren't roudy or obnoxious."

"I had grilled salmon & prawn scampi, which was amazing. My husband had the cod special with a lemon buerre blanc sauce. Portions were just right and everything was perfectly prepared. Amazing food and service for such a reasonable price."

"What a treat! We were referred by a friend and the wait staff was outstanding, loved our waiter he was there when needed and never too much. had great knowledge of the menu and made lots of suggestions. The calamari was the best I've ever had. I ordered the chefs special of grilled salmon and prawns.. although very good, it wasn't great. the prawns were over done and tasted a bit too chard. Def! will go back."

"We liked the raised seating area. The Cod on the special list was excellent. Chicken could have been more done.We liked the atmosphere. Even though we liked the atmosphere it was a little dark to read the menu. Maybe a little candle on the table would help."

"We are from out-of-town, came across Palomino's when alternative plans nearby fell through...And what a discovery it was! We loved the ambiance, the lighting that allowed for intimacy with those at your table (not the whole restaurant). The service was wonderful and encouraged experimenting with certain dishes because they were knowledgeable of the menu. We first visited about a month ago, and we were back in town this past Saturday and Palomino's was the first restaurant to enter our minds! M & T Bennett"
