"Service was slow. Coordination between staff poor. We were celebrating a birthday. It was my birthday and when asked if we wanted desert, two people in our party of four ordered. I said I was full and did not want desert. When desert was brought to the table, one of the deserts was placed in front of me along with a sparkler. The desert was actually for one of the other people at our table.
The food was excellent but the service was not at the level you would expect at a restaurant of this caliber."

"All meals were very good, including chicken and fish entrees. The food was perhaps slightly salty. The service was good, though the waiter did seem to be somewhat spread thin. All in all, a pleasant evening and certainly would be worth a return visit."

"Went with my wife for our anniversary, 8:45 reservation; the place was packed largely due to graduation season (lots of teenagers with families). I think that contributed to the loudness in the restaurant (The first words to my wife were "its loud in here" to which she responded ("What?!")). The Pan Seared Foie Gras was a must get. Overall a great experience, especially as the night progressed and a lot of the crowd shuffled out."

"We went to Harvest on Mothers' day evening. The ambiance was lovely, and the service attentive and gracious. The main courses were very nicely presented and cooked to order - however, the menu selections for main courses were a bit scarce. Portion sizes were generous - and desserts (while wonderful looking at the next table) were huge! In this day and age - perhaps slightly smaller portions would be appreciated by many diners - but all and all - one certainly gets one's money's worth.
We will go back - it is a welcoming and warm environment - very thoughtful and friendly staff."

"My wife and I have been to Harvest twice now, both times for special occasions, and both experiences have been excellent. My wife is a vegetarian and can often have difficulty finding good options (she's had more pasta primaveras than you can shake a stick at, and is always looking for something a little more invigorating). This time around she had the fennel soup and the riccotta gnudi, and I had the special which was opah fish. Both of our meals were simply divine. Everything was marvelously prepared and plated, and the server did an excellent job of attending to our questions and needs. Flavors were well balanced and sophisticated. The atmosphere is very calming and engaging at Harvest, too. We will definitely be coming back!"

"Found out when we arrived the parameter tables are set close to each other on a long bench so the people to your right / left are almost on top of you. This is terrible if you want some privacy. Food was good, service not bad but less than what was expected. The wine list was exceptional but radically overpriced. Some bottles 70 % over retail which is nonsensical. However, wine by the glass selection was better than most. If we return I will make sure to ask for a stand alone table."

"This is our second time, as the memory from the 1st time was wonderful. We ordered the same dishes as we did the last time, and could tell right away, before tasting, that the food was prepared by a different, less skillful person. The prime rips were salty, duck breasts were a bit overdone, and the presentation was careless and messy. The waitress not for once stopped to ask about our food. It was a Wednesday night,and not really busy. The room was comfortably quiet and we were sit close to the fireplace. Very cozy and romantic. One could spent a whole evening there."

"The specials for the evening were all tempting, but I finally chose the walleye. It was excellent. The hangar steaks were cooked to order and tender. A number of the diners, like us, had just come from the St Louis Symphony, including the Conductor. Seemed like the right place to be on a Sunday evening after a wonderful concert."

"We dined mid-week for a special occasion. having been to Harvest in the past. The charcuterie board was well-done. Our salads were somewhat wilted, and one of our entrees (the gnudi) had an odd flavor balance. The physical space of the restaurant was underwhelming- one of our chairs had stains on the cushion and the ceiling had water stains above us. Service was really outstanding."

"I love Harvest, but I was a little sad when I tasted the Fois Gras. When I had it last, probably close to a year ago..it was different, I can't remember how ? This was served on a waffle, with heavy blueberry sauce....I could not even taste the wonderful liver. The sauce was so overpowering. It would have been great with ice cream for dessert, but for this appetizer it did not hit the mark...and at $16- even more. The grass fed steak was great, and such a nice surprise to see a grass/flax seed steak on the menu'. Once you have grass fed beef, it is so hard to go back. We love Harvest, and Jenny is the best server ever. It is so hard to find a restaurant that does good Fois Gras...please return to the old style."

"Thursday nights are date nights for my wife and I, and we love trying new restaurants, but so often we find ourselves returning to Harvest. The menu changes seasonally, ensuring that we'll be able to choose from several new items, and it's always delicious. I've gotten the duck entree the past two times we've come, each time slightly different but equally incredible. The cocktail menu features fun twists on classics, there's an extensive wine list, and the various appetizers will tempt you to get more than one. Of course, for dessert, the bread pudding must not be missed! Add to all this the fact that the menu is predominantly locally-sourced and I'd all but guarantee that you'll leave feeling great!"

"It is always difficult to find a good dining location requiring reservations on a Sunday evening. However, after having experienced Harvest, I can say more in its favor than just that. The food was fresh and well proportioned. The service was informative and engaged in their tasks. The meal lasted two hours but it felt more like 30 minutes. I would recommend Harvest as a dining location to anyone looking for a quality meal in a special location. The meal was itself pricey, but clearly well worth the expense."

"Very slow! Service was poor. Took 30 minutes to get appetizer after we ordered and then 50 minutes to get entree after appetizer finished. Forgot our side of vegetables. Clearing our plates when the waiter realized it and said he would get them right out. Told him to forget it since we were done eating. Had to ask to get our water glasses refilled. My daughter had duck which had 3 VERY small pieces of duck on her plate. It was good but she was still hungry. I had the chicken which was also very small but good but nothing notable. My husband had the pot roast which was the best of the three - very tender, flavorful, and a good portion. We were there 2 hours 45 minutes on a weekday night! The restaurant was not busy."

"An uncharacteristic "off night" for one of our favorite restaurants, yet it was still good. We were there on the 24th, the day of the largest snowfall in St. Louis history. They must have anticipated a small showing, because the management sent home all but one waiter. More people showed up than they likely anticipated. We put in our orders, and needed a bit more time for the wine choices, but he never came back. The first courses arrived, sans wine. Two of us had the special, a ribeye with Gorganzola sauce: unfortunately, one of the steaks, ordered medium rare, came out very rare, and there was no sauce on either one. Supposedly, we were told, a few atoms of Gorganzola were incorporated into the polenta: not as billed."

"Harvest is one of our favorite restaurants. We appreciate the attention to detail and the reliance on local providers. Food is interesting and varied. I've never been disappointed. It is a little pricey and we tend to go here only when we have a gift certificate."

"The ONLY thing wrong was the small two seater table, that was very close to the wall, and uncomfortable. The food was outstanding. They had a grass fed /and flax seed fed ribeye, that was the best steak we ever had. This was a special that we hope to see on the menu always. You can't beat Jenny as a server, she is simply the best."

"Just when I think it can't get any better. The salmon was prepared perfectly. The best I have ever had in my lifetime. I have done a lot of traveling in my lifetime and this tasted like it had just been fished that afternoon. My husband had the pork and it was very tender and flavorful. What a pleasure to have such an exceptional restaurant right here in St.Louis."
