"My husband & had been holding on to a gift certificate for Kincaid's for over a year . We decided to use it for our 10 year wedding anniversary. It was worth the wait! The service was wonderful, our waiter was very knowledgeable & attentive. The food was delectable & the portions were generous (bit not ridiculous). This was our first night away from the kids in 2 years!! When our server heard this he gave us crème brulee (on them) to celebrate. It was a very sweet gesture & a delicious dessert (somehow we found the room to polish that off as well!) I'm certainly glad we didn't promise any doggie bags for the kids! A little pricey but, totally worth it (you get what you pay for!)"

"Nice place to eat after an event at the Ordway or if you are in the area of downtown St. Paul. The food is always good and the service impeccable, maybe a romantic carriage ride after dinner? Food is reasonably priced as compared to other establishments of this

"You can't go wrong with dining here. I really loved the (now) nostalgic iceberg lettuce wedge served with real flair. The French onion soup had enough cheese to make it a meal, and it was delicious. The pork tenderloin entree was excellent and nicely presented. We would definitely return."

"We went to Kincaid's to celebrate a graduation. Eight p.m. is not that late to dine on a Saturday night, but they were out of medium-rare prime rib (their specialty). While the medium prime rib was very tasty, it was drier than the medium-rare would have been. Sides are a la carte - we ordered the au gratin potatoes, and they had absolutely no cheese on them - sent them back. The bread was very good. All-in-all, a good dinner, not great, considering the expense. I had anticipated a little bit more."

"This was a nothing special night turned into a night to remember. The staff at the St. Paul location are second to none!
The food is a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. My wife had the salmon which she said was like butter. I had the swordfish which came with an avacado panna cotta that was unbelievable. As always their Maytag Bule Cheese salad and the Burnt Cream were perfect. We will be back soon!"

"You start with a scotch or similar serious drink. Steaks are prominent on the menu, but there's a good, wide range of choices. The ambience is business-like--great for a good business dinner--but well-priced and enjoyable even without an expense account. The front of the house was excellent--sensing immediately that my mother needed help getting seated. Service is good--probably not the best this particular holiday evening--but it was a holiday! The wine list is well-chosen; we had a good zinfandel with dinner. Tables are very well-spaced--you can have a serious conversation or a silly one, and you have plenty of privacy. I'd recommend this for a special occasion. You'll get very good, classic American food and enjoy every minute."

"We had always looked forward to dining at Kincaid's before Xcel/Ordway events. We were quite disappointed during our last visit there before a Wild playoff game. The food seems to have lost some of that "wow" factor it used to have. Portions were small for the price and the meat inside the dumplings that came with the halibut seemed undercooked and we had to ask to have it cooked more. Just didn't seem very special. Probably no longer going to be our "go to place" before events in that area."

Found a piece of undisolved sugar (looked and felt like glass) was told be manager that it was undisolved crystaline sugar in the Hot Fudge sauce for chololate cake desert. which sounded logical. "Kincaid's St. Paul is a wonderful place to dine, especially for special occasions, because it's a lovely space, the noise level is relatively low, and parking is easy and free, to name a few positives. If only the food were better. Four of us dined there Mother's Day evening, and I don't think any of us was completely happy with the food. The complimentary bread is so overpoweringly garlicky that I'm amazed that anyone has more than a bite or two. The au gratin potatoes were swimming in oil in their ramekins. And the petite lobster tails were like fishy salt licks. The key lime pie and the bread pudding were good, but they were out of the cheesecake. Caffeinated coffee was also fine, as was an Old Fashioned ordered by one of our party."

"i've been to Kincaid's numerous times, a few times for dinner, but I take advantage of their great happy hour often. I've responded to review ratings in the past, but wanted to respond to this one because of the great experience that I had on Sat eve. The food here is always so delicious and the drinks are unique and tasty. What made this dinner so impressionable was the service by our waiter, Renee. She was working that night and had lost her voice. That however, didn't stop her from providing exceptional service. I had mentioned that it was my birth MONTH earlier in the evening and because I celebrate the full month, we were enjoying a nice dinner. She surprised me at the end with creme brulee and a candle- surprised me and made my pm."

"We attended Kincaid's for dinner as a special treat away from our young children. We enjoyed the wide variety of specialty cocktails and wine list. Our meals were the perfect size. With a soup or salad and our main course, we were both satisfied, but did not have leftovers or feel stuffed. Most people were dressed up Saturday evening and it ranged from business casual to some formal attire."

"As always we had a wonderful evening at Kincaids. Our food was excellent and we were served by Jim for the first time. He was very attentive, did a wonderful job knowing just when to bring out our courses. We were not rushed and the evening was great. We were going to the Ordway and Jim did an excellent job of getting us through our dessert with time to spare."

"We went before a Wild game and sat in the bar area. The app menu was perfect for sharing and filling up before the game. We brought our four year old twins with us and had a great time. The atmosphere was not too loud, but loud enough that we didn't feel our kids were out of place or disrupting anyone else and their experience. The staff was very welcoming of them as well which made our experience even more enjoyable."

"This place has not been the same in the last few years but it's okay. Service was friendly and competent but very slow. The place was maybe half full when we sat down at 8:00 and we were the last ones in the dining room when we finally finished dessert at quarter after ten. Food was decent. Not great and lacking some creativity but fairly tasty."
