"This spot was where my wife and I first met each other a few years back. The ambience and food was good then as it was when we returned. It brought back good memories. Don't know why we hadn't returned since then other than the fact that we live on the Peninsula. We will return again soon!"

"My wife, sister and I went to Kincaid's in Norfolk to try their Wednesday night prime rib special. We got there early and decided to have a drink and order some appitizers in the bar area. The watress was really nice (she's been our watress in the past and has always been nice). She took care of us and even stopped at our table during our dinner to ensure we were being taken care of. The food and drinks were excellent. We had a great time."

"A very good restaurant but the service was very slow, non-attentive and not very personable. The waiter rushed through describing the specials for the evening to the point where we really could not comprehend him. It took about 20 minutes for the pre-dinner bread to come out. We really did not feel warmly invited by the waiter."

"Went to dinner with a party of four, 1.5 hrs before a curtain call. The place was empty, aside from a few tables. Our waitress was good--we told her we were on a tight schedule--and all of us ordered steaks and drinks. Our appetizer and drinks came fairly quickly. Our food never did. The manager never came to explain why we were still waiting after 1hr, 15 min for food. We even were open to taking the food to go--but our curtain all was pressing. I finally had to take the bill ( I already had paid in order to get our food fast)--over $200.00--to the manager.She said she was sorry--so were we, and hungry--but offered nothing. I'll be writing a letter to corporate. I'm sure some other chain will be happy to accept my $200.00."

"Usually have a great experience here. But on 28 April we walked in at 4:45pm and were told they could not seat us until 5:30 without a reservation. I then made a reservation for 5:00 and walked back in and was seated within 10 minutes. We were seated and the restauraunt was less than a third full and they kept turning peole away. We had our drinks and appetizers right away. Then we waited and waited and waited. It took over 1 hour for our 2 steaks to be served. We took our first bite and they were over cooked to the point of being charred. We then asked for our check and left. The server was very apologetic and only charged us for drinks. The manager who was standing around the corner did not come over once. Shame on him."

"My husband and I took a quick Babymoon and visited norfolk. We found kincaids after doing a google search, and both liked what we saw on the menu. When we arrived, we were seate quickly and received great service. My husband went crazy over their bread and then ordered the coconut prawns. He really enjoyed his meal and said he hadn't had something that good out at a restaurant in a while. I ordered the prime rib. It was really good, I just wish it had come with a salad or something. All it came with was mashed potatoes and some onion straws. The potatoes were good, but I'm not big on onions. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and my husband has already said he'd really like to go back!"

"Though we enjoyed ourselves with visiting in-laws, the food preparation seemed to have slightly changed for the worse. The house salad was marginal whereas it used to be excellent, and the pork chop was served rare at the bone joint. Ok for steak, a no-no for pork. They made up for it by giving me a whole new dinner, but by that time my wife was already quessy from the sight of raw pork. The bread pudding had also changed totally from great to poor. (Smaller chunks of fruit and the bread gooier!) But my inlaws totally enoyed their steaks and the fabululous Mark West Pinot Noir. I'm sure we'll go back, but we'll be looking (and asking!) very carefully at and about the fare!"

"The food and drinks were awesome, however our waiter was horrible we had to wait long periods of time for our drinks. When he finally came to ask us whether we wanted another or anything else he didn't come to the table he stuck his head out of the door being that we were sitting out side. Instead of walking up to our table. Other than that we would more than likely possibly visit again in the near future but I would make sure not to have the same waiter we did spend over $120.00 for the hour and a half we were there I would expect to have better service. Overall: Awesome resturant, Poor waiter."

"I had the blue cheese peppercorn steak with mash potatoes. The potatoes were cold, however, the waitress brought me some more mash potatoes that were hot. The steak did not have the blue cheese on top as advertised. The waitress brought me some blue cheese in a container to put on top. The steak was suppose to be medium rare but it was actually more cooked medium which was okay but it was only warm, it was not hot either. My husband got the meatloaf which said on the menu gravy would be poured at the table-it was not. However, the food tasted very good and we were pleased as the waitress tried to make up for some of the shortcomings and we would return because it was very tasty. The bread and garlic butter was hot and excellent."

"My wife and I have eaten here before with great memories. We were dining just prior to the Jersey Boys show and had a reservation. We were promply seated when we arrived. However our server did not show up to our table for over 15 minutes. We were left just waiting. Once he did arrive, service was good and the food excellent. I think the issue was due to the staff being backed up with a dinner rush of people attending the show."

"The only real positive comment is that the staff was very attentive and provided good service. Unfortunately the food experience was less than desirable. The restaurant ran out of the fish special at 6:30 in the evening. What we ordered was good quality, but I found for the pricing the servings were very skimpy. The salmon that I ordered was very good, but the side of browned potato you had to search for.
There are a lot better reseraunts in Norfolk and the area that we do not need to go back here."

"Thank you so much for taking reservations and getting us to our table on time. The place was packed, but we still had a table waiting and the food came out on time and perfect. I had to call ahead to tell your hostess that the traffic on 264 from the beach was holding us up. I was so relieved to find that she said she would hold the table for 15 min. We luckily still made it one time but it was nice to hear a friendly voice in my time of panic. We had a terrific meal and made it to the show in plenty of time. Thank you, we will be back."

"We usually go to Kincaid's for lunch, but decided to enjoy a pre-show dinner. Our waiter was very attentive and immediately asked if we had show plans so he could ensure we were out in time. The food was very good, especially the talapia. Wished we had time to enjoy coffee and dessert. Will definately go back!
Words of wisdom: As indicated in the description on Open Table, the mall does offer valet parking. What they don't tell you is that is costs $5.00. We made the mistake of thinking it was a courtesy offering and tipped the valet. THEN they told us it was an extra $5 to use the service. There are no visable signs at the Valet desk to indicate the charge. Use the garage. Kincaid's will validate the parking ticket for up to 3 hours."

"I received a gift certificate for Kincaid's for Christmas and saved it so that I could share it with my wife for a "birthday" dinner as our birthdays are 1 day apart. We arrived at the restaurant and were seated promptly. We ordered an appetizer and cocktails, which were good but things went downhill from there. Our waitress took our orders and left the table. About 15 minutes later another server brought out my order of asparagus and my entre, but no meal for my wife. I waited about temn minutes before our waitress returned and I asked where my wifes entre was, she told me it would be ready....30 miutes later her pasta showed......"

"It still gets a "recommend" on past experience even though this one didn't quite measure up to the past standard. The prime rib was heavily marbled and the edible part was significantly chewy. With the salad and entree arriving simultaneously with the wine bottle opening, it just didn't measure up to past experiences which have been universally great. Maybe it was just an off night."

"I felt that Kincaid's was a great dining experience. The decor and ambience was top notch. I was very pleased with selection of wines and surprised at the different selections of hot tea. The menu was very enjoyable also but it would be nice to have a few more seafood options. I ordered salmon and prime rib, which was delicious but my salmon was clearly undercooked. Other than that the portions were very plentiful. I would and have highly recommended Kincaid s to all of my associates and friends."

"This restaurant has been a staple for our city for over a decade now. Anyone who loves a city environment in the suburbs of Virginia goes here. Once you walk in, you feel like you are in NYC, DC, somewhere metro. The food is so delicately handled and yet, the flavors are strongly present. The waiting staff are cool, laid back, but ready to handle any situation you need them too. They aren't pushy or arrogant. They let you know they are there for you, but let you enjoy your night out without constantly interrupting your meal. Kincaid's is always a go-to place for me. My husband and I love it, we always end up there, never tired of the treats they entice us with. So thankful they came to modest and humble Norfolk, Virginia."

"I arrived on Valentine's Day and was disappointed to learn from the waitress that the only steaks they had available were Filet Mignon. This is a Chophouse, how could you run out of sirloin steaks, especially on Valentine's Day? We had an appetizer which had very small portions for $14.00, we tipped and left within 15 minutes of arriving. We will return but no time soon."

"We were so looking forward to our PrimeRib night. Love this place for their breakfast & Brunch menu. Worst Prime Rib ever!!! Super salty, over cooked and not edible! Told our waitress, Dallas and she said, it's marinated in SeaSalt. We were not sure she knew what she was talking about, but it sure tasted like a brick of seasalt! Ordered medium-meduim well. So overcooked it looked like a slab of burned wood. Ordered asparagus, that too, was seasoned with something that I could not eat...they should tell you ahead of time if that is the case. Bread, way too much "Rosemary", I think. Nice plain bread is a great side...nothing fancy is needed. We just let this experience go to "not doing Prime Rib again"."
