Authentic Italian restaurant located in the heart of SOMA. Enjoy Northern Italian food in a cozy & intimate environment. We specialize in Tuscan and Piedmontese cuisine, serving a variety of home-made pastas in addition to traditional dishes Dalla Terra & Dal Mare.
"I forgot to bring the address, but knew the cross street, we drove by several times, the front of Bricola just blends in with everything along the block. Once we parked, just steps from their door, and went inside, everything changed. It is nicely decorated and very comfortable, we were treated with special care, the wait staff was attentive, and the food was very good. I will go back with other friends, it will be easy now that I know just where the are."

"After just two visits, La Briciola ranks as our new favorite. A 10-15 minute walk from AT&T Park, it's a great place for a meal before Giants games, but surely worth a visit at any time. A broad selection of excellent Italian food and generous wine list, but what really sets it apart is the staff, who are warm, welcoming people you just like being around. Both times we've been there, we could tell that many of our fellow diners were repeat visitors if not regulars, which tells you just about all you need to know about La Briciola."

"We were searching for a restaurant close by to a small theatre on Bryant. When I search Open Table, La Briciola was one of the choices. Lady luck helped us out. This is a wonderful restaurant which may go unnoticed if you were driving by. Every dish we tried from the soup to the main courses were exceptional. We are grateful to Giovanni whose recommendations were spot on. No only was the food exceptional but the service was top notch as well."

"We love La Briciola. The salad's are fresh and bright. The grilled squid appetizer wasvery delicious. I especially like anything in their seafood section, from the grilled mixed plate to the seafood lasagna. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and he helped us pick a nice bottle of wine. We went with six people to celebrate my sister-in-laws Birthday. Everyone enjoyed their food."

"La Briciola is definitely a neighborhood gem, and we are so glad it's in OUR neighborhood. The staff is welcoming, war, and attentive. The menu offers wonderfully varied choices and the food is fresh and well prepared. The noise level is conducive to good conversation. No doubt we'll be back."

"Interesting Northern Italian dominated dishes, cucina paisan in all its glory. Wine list has well chosen and well priced Italian gems. The staff are all welcoming, friendly and genuine, all Italian which helps. Great value for money and sometimes you can find discount deals which make it insanely good value. Location is an off beat part of SOMA on edge of South Beach, convenient for Giants."

"Went to Briciola with a few friends. It's a little bit hard to access from the heart of the city, but it's an easy cab ride. Great appetizer bread and a notable wine list! Liked the atmosphere. I had the gnocchi, and even though it tasted good, the dough was a bit undercooked and tasted gooey. My friend had some assorted seafood dish that he really liked. I'd say the average entree was $20, so overall not that bad. Overall, it was a good experience and I will be going back."

"Ate there 3 times, first time everything was spectacular. Second time less so, and the third time it was outright disappointing, not a little Italian gem off the beaten path. It will be a while before I will venture to LaB."

"We went to La Briciola for our 15th anniversary. We'd asked for prosecco to be on ice, and it was....the waiter (Gian Andrea) took a personal touch a giant step further. He was so attentive and informative about the Italian origins of the wines and food. After dinner, we were treated to dessert wine for two.
I have to compliment the food as well. I loved the rack of lamb. The prosecco was Villa Sandi, also highly recommended.
I can't wait to go again!"

"La Briciola is a wonderful northern Italian restaurant. We were a party of four and made reservations the same day for an early meal on a Saturday without difficulty. We arrived at 6:15 and were promptly seated. The waiters were terrific. Maybe because they were not busy. We ordered the cheese plate and the charcuterie for appetizers. Both were excellent. For entrees we had risotto, grilled seafood, warm seafood salad (an appetizer), and the orrechiette. All were great. The only drawback was that the grilled seafood included prawns that were a little dry and mealy. The salmon, squid, whitefish were great. Dessert included strawberries with gelato and vin santo, which could have been colder. Overall, excellent experience."

"Not a good overall experience. Very quiet restaurant - there were only 2 other diners. Ceaser salad came from a jar; croutons were cold and stale. Ravioli was fine, but after delivered we never saw the sserver again until we were done and it was time to go.
Thera are so many good Italian restaurants in SF, no need to go here."

"I expected the squid ink risotto to be a bit more buttery, but I absolutely LOVED the Panna Cotta! It's just how I remember it to be from when I first tried it in Paris. This is how it should be! I'm definitely going back for this =)"

"We chose La Briciola because most of our favorite restaurants were already booked and I'm glad we did! The wine list is extensive, the menu has something for everyone and the service is attentive. The food was delicious. We look forward to visiting again soon."

"This is an authentic Italian restaurant. No fake accents here. The staff was on their game as well. I took my wife and daughter so I would have heard it if it wasn't good in any way. The grilled squid was a real find. I plan to go back."

"La Briciola never disappoints. My dining companion and I had a hard time choosing, there were so many possibilities on the menu, but we finally settled on the ravioli and gnocchi with taleggio and shared the squid, which was not exactly what we had thought, but good. We will go back - definitely."

"The menu was eclectic, from the seafood and pasta to the meat and pasta dishes. The atmosphere inside is the feel of a classy, yet relaxed and cozy place. The service was excellent, and the recommendations by the waiter were quite helpful, particularly his suggestion of the lamb ragu and pasta. The wine list is excellent. I took a date there, and it was a very good time. We both enjoyed ourselves, never felt rushed, and were attended to in a consistent manner with efficiency. The desserts were good too, I recommend the tiramisu."

"The food was very good to excellent. They divide their menu by land and seafood options. The options are divided into the classic three categories; antipasti (appetizers), Primi (pastas), Secondi (meat and fish entrees). I would recommend sharing a couple of appetizers: the burrata and the calamari were great, splitting a pasta; the pastas were delicious, though a little too al dente for my taste ( maybe ask them to cook the pasta a little more than usual, but please not mushy), then having an entree each. We loved the chicken and the lamb. The waiter was very nice and patient with our large group, our many questions, and the time it took to decide how many courses we wanted to have. Nice Italian wine list."

"I was looking for a restaurant near the Terra Gallery for an event I was going to and found La Briciola on Yelp. The location is fairly easy to get to and the parking around there is fairly easy. The restaurant has a very warm feel to it. The music was nicely soft and the lights were nicely bright. I didn't feel like I had to speak up at all to talk with my table. The staff were all incredibly polite and attentive. My friend's carpaccio was pretty good, but I definitely think I picked a winner with the burrata mozzarella. One friend got the gnocchi sorrentina, which was pretty good. My other friend got the orecchiatte, which also was pretty tasty. My risotto was delicious, and I liked that more than what my friends got."

"La Briciola is a great place to enjoy the food and talk. The interior is nicely appointed and there are nice nooks and crannies that dampen noise. The calamari grigliati was excellently grilled and flavorful. The swordfish was tender and well-cooked, with an excellent sauce. The vegetable sides were very tasty, even though they was not particularly highlighted on the menu. Nicest of all, everyone could hear a conversation at a normal volume. This would be a great place for an over-dinner job interview or, at the other end of the scale, a romantic interlude."
