Located in the trendy and fashionable Bethesda Row, Lebanese Taverna serves authentic Middle Eastern fare in a casual yet stylish setting. The menu boasts over 25 appetizers and salads as well as a variety of grilled lamb, beef, chicken and fish entrees. There is a large selection of vegetarian dishes, too. To complement your dining experience, choose from our award-winning wine list or specialty cocktails. The restaurant is child-friendly and great for groups of all sizes.
"We dined there during a special Bethesda restaurant week - the food was outstanding: extremely generous portions and all well-executed. I will definitely return. I've been for both lunch and dinner, and have always had a great experience. Their Baba Ganoush is exceptional, and the shrimp over cous cous is terrific."

"When we arrived for dinner the hostess said that if we didn't have a reservation that we would have to eat at the bar or in between other people at a crowded communal table. There was no waiting list, and we were offered a reservation for the following night. We declined. At the time we noted an empty table for two near the entrance. We went to the bar, and I opened the Open Table app on my phone. Much to my surprise, in searching for somewhere else to eat, I found that I could make a reservation there. A few minutes later we were sitting at the table that I had noticed before. The food was good, but after jumping through hoops to eat there they really had to do something to empress me. They didn't."

"For around 18 dollars an entree, you get a greasy laminated menu, overcooked and oversalted food, and slow service. The appetizers and entrees were both disappointing. We definitely won't be going back. I'll stick to the cafe in Rockville, where the food is actually much better."

"While the appetizers were a hit, the entrees -not so much. There were four of us and two enrees were were really good but two were dry and overdone. Service was pleasant and timely."

"We were delighted to discover this wonderful restaurant more-or-less in our neighborhood. The decor is subtle; the color tones warm and comforting; the sound level such that one may have a normal conversation with one's table mates. Our waiter was warm and welcoming, prepared to answer our questions regarding the menu and to make good recommendations for those of us now familiar with Nepalese/Himalayan cuisine. Among our favorites of the items ordered were: Badam Sadeko, Aloo Tama Bodi, ChickenTikka, and the Raita. It is a restaurant well worth a visit."

"Even though reservations made - we had to wait over 15 mins for a table. Service was very poor. The service at Lebanese Taverna has really gone down - sorry to see that - was one of my favorite restaurants. Probably never going back"

"My lovely spouse and I went to the Lebanese Taverna to celebrate our 25th anniversary with a quiet, romantic dinner. And it was spot on!! They were very attentive, the wait staff was wonderful, and the food was very good. Definitely worth a repeat visit in the very near future!"

"Tremendous overall experience at Lebanese Taverna. We enjoyed the Mediteranean cuisine, including delicious fresh, hot flat bread; hummus and lebneh were creamy heaven; falafel melt-in-your-mouth; chicken and beef/lamb shawarma lightly seasoned and delight on the tongue; shrimp arak delicious; and the tasty grape leaves. Finish with a hot tea. Go to Lebanese Taverna. Go there!"

"The food is good, but service is haphazard to bad. We arrived at the appointed time. There were no tables available. Rather than make us wait, the restaurant set up an extra thin table and sat us at that. They positioned the table at the ticket taking entrance to an event that was to start 1/2 hour later. The crowd arrived for the event and our location became both a problem for the people attending the event and for us.
Waitress was fine, but the experience was bad."

"The restaurant is large and has a lovely setting. Its size probably helped a friend and I to get a last-minute reservation on a Friday evening. Generally, the food was good and reasonably priced. I really liked the ice-cream trio I had for dessert. It did take our waiter more then 10 minutes to come over after we sat down, but the service was fine the rest of the evening."

"We've been here several times before and will return. However, the quality of the lamb dishes were a bit disappointing this time----somewhat lacking in seasoning for one and a bit dry for the other."

"Nice warm pita bread. Hummus is excellent. They made a dish for me not on the menu and it was a good lamb and rice dish. Lamb shish kabab was good. Waiter very friendly and attentive. If you want a quiet ambiance, choose to go there for dinner around 5 pm."

"Outstanding lunch! We ordered a number of apps and also main dish of lamb over rice with grape leaves. Make sure you order eggplant dishes - they grill the eggplant and it has a wonderfully smokey quality. The food was excellent as was our server. The food is very consistently good here. and I will definitely"

"Food is good. It is kind of a combination of Lebanese and American dishes, all of which the four of us enjoyed.
The noise level is energetic, meaning it was a bit hard to hear the other people we were with, but it was not impossible to hear them. The waiter was attentive, friendly and helpful. Given that the restaurant was packed the evening we were there, and he had several tables to service, we were impressed.
The restaurant itself is beautiful inside."

"A tried and true favorite no matter the occasion! We continue to frequent both Lebanese Taverna in Bethesda, as well as in Rockville and Lebanese Taverna Cafe in Congressional plaza. The food is always great and the grafts of sangria keep getting better!"

"While the food was good, we had to ask over and over again for water, for the waiter for more wine and dinner took way too long to deliver. This appears to be poor management - they also only had 1 bartender for a saturday night."

"The food is much improved and well worth a visit for outstanding hummus in all the classic variations, fresh and tasty calamari, excellent salads, and overall very strong mezze. Service is friendly if a tad amateurish, but no complaints about their hospitality - we were a small group on a Sunday who stayed until past ten without being bothered and realized on our way out that official closing time had come and gone at nine o'clock."

"Very good food, and I adore the Arabic tea, even if it is from a tea bag. A bit on the noisy side as the evening progressed - we were there for dinner on Thursday, so the Happy Hour crowd was starting to get into it. Also, we were seated at a small table placed fairly close to other tables, which was rather annoying, especially since several booths were open. The waiter was a bit on the slow side, acted like he hadn't been at the restaurant long. Another annoyance was that the hostess wore very strong perfume, but luckily it wasn't one of the patrons sitting next to us."

"Good value, excellent service, nice bustling atmosphere--but not too loud. We especially enjoyed the "chef's platter" of Lebanese specialities to share for an hors d'oevres."
