"We had a great time! We had our daughter, son-in- law, and 9 month old grandson with us. Little afraid to take the little guy to a nice spot, but it was fine. The service was quick, so no issues. We will come back and try other items, for sure!"

"Having been to Mexico a few times, I know and love their margaritas. This restaurant serves the real deal, not your typical sweet-sour mixed ones usually found. Perfecto! Food was fresh and different from the usual as well. Freshly made tortillas served with excellent salsa. Will definitely go back. Great location too!"

"Colibri's makes a fantastic margarita - they don't offer blended, but you don't miss it. The food is very good, tends to be a bit spicy, but the flavor is great. Our server was very nice, just not very good. He kept forgetting to bring things. The bill missed charging us for 3 out of 6 things we had ordered. We told our waiter (felt badly) and we didn't see him again, we then flagged down the manager and told him. He thanked us and called it good, but you have to wonder how often does that happen with people choosing not to bring it to their attention. I'll go back, the margaritas and guacamole is worth it, but don't expect great service."

"My partner loves authentic Mexican food and was excited at this SF 'find." We arrived for our 8 pm reservation, then were rushed to order. The appies, mains and drinks all appeared at the same time. The waiter kept hanging around trying to clear... we were in and out of there within an hour — not at all the way we like to have an evening out. And we kept wondering what the rush was. There was plenty of open tables on a Saturday night. The food was decent but not great and the service was rude and pushy and rushed."

"We went on Cinco de Mayo. They had a live band. The music was so loud that my group could not have any conversation. We were seated at the table right in the middle of the walkway and the kitchen. It was absolutely chaotic. The food was pretentious and over priced...$20.00 for a piece of fish...and that's all."

"I have eaten here before & loved it, still do. This particular time was on Cinco de Mayo, so they were really busy, the service was slow & the food was average. "Had lunch before our show at the Curran Theater across the street. Though the restaurant wasn't super crowded, we were seated in the very back corner with a view of the kitchen and a dark wall. Cocktails were tasty, but food was average. Salsas were necessary to add flavor to the tamale appetizer. I enjoyed my chilaquiles with chicken until biting into a piece of cartilage. Service was slow and made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Won't return."

"With a group of 6, we all left impressed by the quality of food. The carnitas were tasty with a generous portion. The prawn with tamarind mole was unusual and delicious and came with a fluffy corn cake that we enjoyed. The margaritas were good, though a bit pricey for even a standard house margarita. The guacamole was excellent but it was a bit weird that it came with tortillas and only 5 of them for a party of 6. The waiter was nice and helpful until we wanted to split the check, at which point he got a bit snippy. Overall a tasty place, but a bit pricier than expected."

"This is a great spot located across from ACT and reasonably priced. We've enjoyed it several times but last weekend we had very slow and inattentive service and 3 of our 4 entrees were not great: prawns too spicey, fish tacos undercoooked and pork overcooked. Noise level is high unless you get in the back room. The staff are all very pleasant and we will certainly try it again."

"Arrived early for a reservation and were still seated immediately. Service was promptly initiated with constant water glass filling, cocktail service and welfare checks. My wife and I both ordered the Ceveche appetizer and Mole Pablano entre. They were both very good. The chicken was a little tough, but overall, very satisfying. Desert and coffee really hit the spot and we walked out feeling the $96.00 was worth it. It's not just a good dining experience but conveniently located across from the Curran Theater."

"This is a perfect place to go if you are going to a show on Geary (ACT or Curran), as it is directly across the street. The drinks are very good and fun...bottomless mimosa for brunch was an unexpected plus. We did not realize, however, that their SAT & SUN brunch menu does not have the full variety of menu options available on their dinner menu, which is not available until 3:00 pm on Weekends. As such, we were a bit disappointed that egg dishes were what we were choosing from, along with a few lunch like options. Overall the service was very good and the restaurant consistent in providing good dishes and a great variety of tasty drinks. I've been here about five times over the past 6 years and would go back."

"This was our second visit to Colibri. Although we had gotten in for dinner as a walk-in last time, to skip the wait I made a reservation (even though we were going much earlier than last time as well). We were seated immediately and, as delicious as our first visit was, we tried all new foods and drinks. The watermelon agua fresca was amazing, as were our entrees and the mango creme brulee. It was almost agonizing to stray from the churros when we first ordered, but the mango creme brulee was a delightful lighter and sweet choice."

"Food is good but a bit overpriced for a lunch (same prices for dinner as lunch). The house speciality a mole chicken was very good, but you get a breast and a leg for $15 (at lunch) with no side dishes. They restaurant also serves guacamole in a molcajete (not made table side) and then after charging $11 for that, then charges you $2 for chips. Not a value meal although tasty food close to many of the conference hotels. Go early and get a booth which is quieter!"

"We were looking for a restaurant serving classic huevos rancheros withrefried beans. The hievos were okay but I was disappointd that the beans were black beans not pinto beans. My husband ordered a bloody mary and found it to be a little too spicey. he asked for tomato juice to tone it down but they did not have any. The bloody marie was made with a mix and could not be changed. However, the waiter took it back and provided us with mimosas at No extra cost."

"The staff were very friendly. We arrived about 10 minutes early they were crowded. Thank goodness we reserved a talbe and they seated us in a booth that I had requested.
The service was so fast that we were able to take our time and still walk around the neighborhood prior to the Jersey Boys show. I would recommend this restaurant to all . . .A very nice dinner."

"Great location and delicious food. A group of 8 of us saw a play at the Curran and walked across the street for dinner. Best to make reservations because it gets very busy. Everything from the appetizers to dessert was wonderful. You can't go wrong with anything you order here."

"The food was good, but the restaurant was hot and stuffy and did not have good air circulation. As at most restaurants in San Francisco, the service is a total disaster. First we were served guacamole when we had not ordered it, then the waiter took the guacamole away without apologizing, Then we ordered guacamole without jalapenos, we were served guacamole with jalapenos, we said no, he took it away again without apologizing, and then finally brought us our guacamole without acknowledging the fails. Everything we ordered was delicious, we really enjoyed it, but as at most San Francisco restaurants, the service seems stressed and disorganized and it does not make for a relaxing meal. I would also like to hear some Mexican music."

"I'm not a big Mexican food fan, but this was great ! Gucacomole was excellent, they can adjust the heat the heat to order. Chips were some if the best. Of course margaritas were excellent too each dish had great unique flavor. Not just same ingredients combined in different ways."

"Across the street from the Curran and A.C.T. theatres, this bistro continues to provide great food at reasonable prices. We will return again and again. The only caveate I will make is the noise level - it's high. Overall all, though, it's probably a more consistent hit than what's playing across the street."
