"It was quite crowded when we arrived because there was a theater crowd. We had to wait to be seated. No big deal. Once the theater crowd left things quieted down. Our waitress was lovely . There were not enough choices to suit my palate. My husband said his hamburger was mediocre. Our friend had a pasta dish that she liked a lot. So, I guess, a mixed review! Too bad because it's right in our neighborhood! P.S. Our friends who recommended it to us thought it was very good!"

"We just spent a weekend in the Berkshires and are depressed to be back in NYC. My boyfriend found this place for the farm to table menu and glowing reviews. The food and ambiance was awesome-the fish tacos and burger were outstanding. I would have given this place 4 stars if the service was anything more than non-existent and completely rushed. As soon as I put my fork down, the next course was right behind it. I noticed it happened to an adjacent table too. We asked if we could wait for our final course and the server obliged. She offered no enthusiasm or personality about the restaurant-at all. Dishes were simply dropped with no remarks. She never asked us how we were enjoying the food."

"A new chef, but little change in the menu. However, the service was prompt (in comparison to my last visit), and the food was better. Perfectly cooked burger and fries. One of the best in town."

"The menu is organic and locally grown. We both had the ground short rib and brisket burger----absolutely delicious. Served with cheese, great tomatoes, lettuce, grilled onions and a bacon relish. The burger was done to perfection, and the bun was wonderful. Sweet potatoe fries were on the side, and they were the best I've ever had. The warm hearth bread and butter served with the salad was outstanding also. The wines by the glass list is unusual but very good. We ate in the bar area, which was not at all noisy (no tv), and it seemed cozier than the dining room, which was also offered to us. We did not have dessert, but the offerings looked standard but with a twist. The tab was quite wuite reasonable."

"Best restaurant in Great Barrington/Stockbridge area. Food is always interesting and tasty and ambiance is very good. Even the kids (who are budding foodies) like it. The area we were sitting in (larger restaurant area behind the bar) is very forgiving to a noisy family due to other large groups and the relatively high noise level. Love the opening to the kitchen, a 'live' Brueghel painting with commotion, clanking and lovely aromas, a reminder that great food is at the core of this establishment. The light airy decor with rustic accents in warm browns and greens is great. Red wine list could do with more variety, tried three different wines and they were all fruity."
