"As much as anything it was the staff that made our night. We enjoyed the personal touch of our server keeping us updated on the hockey game as well as just being friendly in general...meal was presented well and was delicious."

"Granville Island Keg was a great spot for dine out. Value was great! Our steaks were cooked perfect and of course we got a few dishes that make the Keg such great comfort food ( Caesar, Caesar salad and the Billy Miner Pie ). The wine list is good and very affordable. All the service staff and hosts were courteous, friendly and efficient. Definately recommend others to go."

"My wife and I went on a Friday night, a celebratory dinner since we told our family that we were expecting (first night alone after a hectic couple of weeks). The restaurant was loud but did not seem that busy and we just went with it and stuck with our table (made the best of it).
Our server was great, nice guy, answered all our questions about what was in the food. Minor complaint, while our steaks were well done, the meat was tough (maybe a bit overcooked) and the complimentary bread tasted stale and hard. Our rice and potatoes were awesome.
Maybe if we go here again and it's loud we'll ask to switch to a quieter place, the food was fine. I appreciated how our server totally handled my overprotective questions about what's in our food."

"Had not been to the Keg in some time but was looking for a beef place. In fact had the roast beef and the steak with crab. Both were superb! Beware the horseradish, Even for me it was powerful. The server was especially helpful as she substituted the shelled to the unshelled crab at the last minute. This made it much easier for those who may have trouble cracking the shell."

"The two lobster tails were great… nice size, well prepared and very tasty.
However, the Blue-cheese filet wasn’t prepared as it should have been. The steak wasn’t hot enough for the blue cheese to melt, it was grainy and tasteless. Since I already eaten half of the steak, I declined to have the order replaced.
The Keg general manager apologized, had one drink deducted off the bill and she took time to serve the special coffee order to our table, which was a nice touch in addition to her apology. In spite of the unfortunately experience, I definitely like to return to the Granville Island Keg"

"We finished off the calamari like it was the end of the world. All I can say is that it was REALLY good. We ordered sirloins & a rib eye medium rare which was well delivered! Though the scallops on the sirloin (Oscar) seem to have shrunked from the last I had before. The kids enjoyed their sliders & mini-steak, they finished it off eventhough they were exhausted. When they've had a long day their usually out for the count by dinner time. It was my sis-in-laws bday & they brought out this to-die-for cake!"

"I ordered the fish and chips, and it was terrible! I guess one doesn't order fish and chips at a Keg, stick to meat, but I felt like fish and chips. The halibut was delicious but the batter was truly awful - thick glue-like, no crisp crunch. Way to ruin a delicious bit of fish. I should be a thin crisp layer, not like being covered in a half-cooked pancake. I dug the fish out and ate it. My friends had the salmon burger, which they said was good."

"The birthday deal was a wonderful surprise! Thank you for accommodating that for us. The server was very nice and knowledgeable and attentive. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. Our only problem was the hostess. We think she was the one training. She was quite "snobby" and didn't seem like she wanted to be there. It was just really not genuine the way she spoke with us and asked us about our day like she just had to. She looked us up and down and rolled her eyes. But otherwise, we did have a nice time and again, the server was amazing."

Two minor things: one is that I thought the stuffed mushrooms would be stuffed mushrooms, not a small mushroom smothered in cheese and some crab and served like escargot. Second thing is that they brought one appetizer way before the other one -- this is poor service on the part of the restaurant -- particularly since the one that came first was a salad and not subject to getting cold."

"Our service was excellent. The server was attentive but not overbearing. The appetizers were hot and tasty. The steak in particular was perfectly done to our tastes, and was well aged and juicy. The veggys were also cooked to perfection. Hot but with a hint of crispness. All in all a great dining experience in a very romantic setting!"

"Overall, the experience was pretty good. We were here for Valentines Day and we made our reservations late because of last minute decisions. One thing that really kind of wreck our night was that a little kid was running around the restaurant and tagging our tables. Our reservation was for 10 and you think that someone would have that kid in bed by then, but apparently not. Unfortunately, the servers were pretty scarce, probably because so many people were disgruntled about the annoying child, so there wasn't really anyone to ask to deal with the situation.
Otherwise the night was great. Our food was excellent and our server was really friendly, even though we didn't see him very often."

"The service provided was outstanding. The teriyaki sirloin was ordered but a regular sirloin came to our table. The server quickly replaced the order and manager came to check up. Tiger prawns were over-cooked, parts were burnt and dried. Everything else on the plates were fairly well done. Overall, a positive dinner."

"We took our friend visiting from the UK to the Keg. I'm pleased how the Keg has improved over the last 10-15 years. We ordered the three courses from the Dine Out Vancouver menu. The food was delicious and plentiful. And who knew that we'd have room for the cheesecake and two Billy Miner pies!"

We had to ask for sugar for my Mom's tea a few times and for a spoon a few times for my hot water, lemon and honey.
