"The food at Finn and Porter was awesome. The portion size seamed small, but I left surprisingly full. For those who like fish, I would suggest the Halibut. The atmosphere was very nice, and we were seated in a nice area. We were immediately seated as the restaurant was clearing out (we chose to eat late to accomodate other activities). The prices were on par with this type of restaurant, and we were pleased overall."

"My clients thoroughly enjoyed a recent business dinner. The food was great and we were able to try many of the appetizers with their happy hour 1/2 off special. The bar above was a little noisy but that was to be expected with a convention next door."

"Really enjoyable restaurant for very good food and great service. There is a funky city sewage odor outside the building that isn't their fault. Very unfortunate for them as it isn't in their control. Fortunately you can't smell any of it inside the restaurant.Our waitstaff was very attentive and professional and the ambiance inside was perfect for us. We sat in a booth in the bar area and they had a great little live jazz ensemble playing. The energy was perfect for a date with my wife.The food was just about perfect. Everything was pretty mainstream and classic (a good thing) but with just enough of a twist to make it unique, highly satisfying, and memorable. We will be back FOR SURE."

"Finn & Porter completely exceeded our expectations. We went during Austin Restaurant Week. They were well prepared for our arrival. The filet could not have been better. Their wine list was perfect for our evening with our parents. The bruchetta roll was truly inventive and divine. It was a most comprehensive menu with lots of variety. The restaurant should definitely be packed nightly. We will return again, most definitely."

"This is a very nice restaurant but quite expensive. We got a lower priced bottle of wine and a couple of appetizers and our bill for dinner three of us was just under $300 with tip. Food was very good. Steak cooked perfectly. Scallop and pork belly appetizers were great. One of us got sushi and was surprised by the small serving size. I agree with a review I read suggesting that Finn and Porter isn't sure what type of restaurant it is. We got two separate menus. One just for sushi. A little odd but, perhaps it doesn't matter since the food was good. Overall a very nice meal. A bonus: since our parking at the Hilton was covered with validation, we left our car there while we went out on 6th street - convenient."

"Food and service was great. I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic dinner...its pretty loud even in the smaller room in the back. My one complaint is that I had left a "special request" when I made the open table reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. They obviously did not read it because when we received our desserts they did not acknowledge it at all. I noticed the table next to us they had written on the dessert plate. I was not expecting anything for free, just the acknowledgement for my husband's birthday. They obviously dont read the special requests so dont waste your time putting anything there."

"We went and had sushi. The miso soup was excellent and the house rolls were a real treat. It's a super easy place to eat if you are staying at a hotel downtown - it's in the Hilton."

"We absolutely loved Finn and Porter it was hands down one of my favorite dinners! I had the Cauliflower steak and it was delish and I'm not even a vegitarian and my husband had the pork chop (thankfully we shared because they were both so good) we will defiantly be back!"

"For those of us that live in North Austin, having the option of taking the train downtown to be delivered to the front door of Finn & Porter is nifty. We went on Friday night - all appetizers AND small plates were half off until 7pm ... and that was sitting in the restaurant. Drink specials you ask? Wines by the glass, also half off. Four of us, with 2 glasses of wine each and multiple appetizers ate for $130. We missed the 7pm cut-off for 1 plate - so paid the full price of $14. Tammy was our waitress, and for only being there for 2 weeks, gave us excellent recommendations. Planning on making this a regular from now on."
