The Century House Restaurant features new American cuisine with an emphasis on fine steaks and fresh seafood imaginatively prepared and artfully displayed.
At the Century House you can rest assured that you will receive excellent service from a knowledgeable and caring staff, who will strive to make your meal unforgettable!
The federal style decor, with its wide plank wood floors, spindle back chairs and stone fireplace reflects our 1816 beginnings.
"Located outside of the hustle and bustle of the tri-city area, but easily gotten to, provides the quiet ambience suitable for almost any event. The Chef Eric Bolton keeps the kitchen on track and many of the receipes are his own. As an hotel, it feels more like an Inn, so all your needs can be met in one place for that romantice get-away, reunion, anniversary, or wedding. Enjoys a 50+ year history as a fine purveyor. "Four clients from Arizona and Texas were hosted for dinner. They liked the uniqueness of the restaurant. The dining room was at about 30% capacity so it was nice and quiet and we were able to enjoy relaxed conversation. The quality of the meals was outstanding and portions were large. I highly recommend the Century House for out of town guests who have seen all the chain restaurants before."

"Pleasant environment. Service friendly and attentive. Bit over eager given the low number of patrons at the early hour-could have sensed that there was a business meeting of four people rather than 4 starving diners.
Specials presented nicely, and wait staff very knowledgeable about food and preparation.
Appetizers and entrees arrived quickly and well presented. Food was good and nicely prepared to order per all at table. Use of a "starch choice" and sauce choice" seemed ab bit out of synch with the quality but overall very pleasant."

"I hadn't been to the Century House for years, but decided to take my Dad for his 75th birthday. Except for an unorganized hostess, the service was great and the food was very good. We all enjoyed."

"The Century House has several rooms for special occasions. When we were there there was at least one weddding and one other large gathering. The bar area was full with some of these guests. The dining room is adjacent to the bar area so it is understandable that the energetic noise level from the bar would infiltrate the dinind room. The service was very good and accommodating."

"The service was unacceptable. The food was not hot. We were charged more than we should have been for three items. We were completely dissatisfied with our experience st the Century House."

"I thought the food and service were great. The atmosphere was exceptional. The only disappointment I had was the very minimal amount of wine that you receive for the price that is charged. I am not a fan of the premeasured carafes. It reminded me of the Outback Steakhouse. Overall it was a nice night out. Thank you."

"Lacked ambiance for Valentines Day. The dining area/room we eat in for our Valentines dinner was behind the bar area, we walked passed the bar and was taken into a room which looked like it was right near the kitchen. The dinning area/room was not set up for special Valentines evening. Lacking Ambiance for a Valentine dinner. The room just look like a plain old fashion room with tables in it. Much much more should have been done for decorations in that room. To plain for Valentines. The romantic looking room was the dining room looking outside and he had a fireplace in it. Love the food."

"I made a reservation nearly 2 months ago. I stated that it was my husbands and my 10 year wedding anniversary and I requested that we be seated near the fireplace. When we got there we were escorted to a back room - the temperature was fairly cool - and in fact I felt I needed a sweater. The waiter came and took our order in a timely manner; however couples that came in up to 30 minutes after us were being served their food before us. We were left wondering what happened to our appetizers. After a while our waiter came by and explained that there was a problem with their computer system and our order was misplaced. We got our appetizer about 45 minutes into our experience. I ordered filet mignonette and it was fabulous; however my hus"

"One of the few good places in the Capital Region. The food is very good and definitely worth the high price. The ambiance could be made a little more intimate, but otherwise I'd definitely recommend the place."

"Our table of ten had a good time..we are all in the business and was a reunion of sort..We thought the menu was one fit for New Years eve. Few selections and Definitely over priced for what we were served...My NYS was cooked perfectly, however, the worst Bearnaise sauce I ever had...no lemon/ tarragon flavor..definitely forgot to do a tarragon reduction. then went for the horseradish sauce...much better."

"Once one of my favorite restaurants, The Century House recently changed their menu from creative interpretations of American classics like seared duck breast, turkey pot pie, cape cod seafood pot and braised short ribs to a completely predictable and boring menu the is more representative of wedding/banquet offerings. Basic proteins such as chicken, steak and fish are offered alongside a "Chinese menu" style assortment of pedestrian baked/mashed/rice pilaf sides. While the food quality and service were still decent enough, the menu has completely turned me off to The Century House. Unfortunately it will probably be a long time before I return unless they switch back to the old menu."
