"We were greeted very nicely when we arrived. We were a party of seven for the Mothers Day Brunch and we were seated at 2 p.m. Our server was most attentive to our table (which included 3 children) The food display was done very nicely with an amazing assortment of salads, cheeses, antipastos, and entrees. The prime rib and chicken piccata were outstanding, as were the pizza station and the Italian station (after 3 p.m.) Our grandchildren enjoyed the "make a pancake" for Mom and were given adorable chef hats for the process. It was in the Renaissance Hotel, which has very pretty outdoor courtyards and plantings along with beautiful palms...very tropical. I would definitely return."

"This was the second time that we had selected this restaurant for the celebration of Mother's Day. We went back because our first experience three years ago was very good. Pelagia Trattoria did not disappoint the second time around either. Wide array of selections, including a wonderful pancake station and equally impressive omelet station. Our server was fantastic. This one will stay on our Mother's Day play list."

"It was Mother's Day Brunch, so a little chaotic. The kid (Chris maybe?) snapping his gum, assuring people their table was just being set, when there were delays(you needed a team of 2 flipping tables/setting tables you had your waiters and waitresses trying to do it in between customers) probably wasn't the best person, nor reassuring to have him at the helm. He kept running back and forth to the lady and the banter between the 2 of them probably shouldn't have happened in front of standing hungry customers. But worth the wait, the Prime Rib was excellent. Food overall very good, could have used 1 or 2 more starches had Roasted Potatoes and that was it (Risotto; Wild Rice; Whipped Sweet Potatoes would have been nice)."

"Everything was great except went it came time to pay. They automatically added a tip of 18% for a party of six. OK, unusual, but that would have been fine. EXCEPT the server never mentioned it to anyone. When the bills were presented (it was split so there were two) absolutely no mention of that fact. Each party added a 20% tip on the final amount without noticing the 18% already on the bills. In on case that amounted to an additional $35.00 on the other $20.00. Exiting the parking lot the bill was reviewed and the compound tip was discovered. Be aware there is a trap on their bills. We won't return."

"Very difficult to say, this one is thrown out from the rest of the restaurants in bay street. Others looked more vibrant. This place is not bad but there are other places in the bay street which looked more attractive. There is nothing great to make go there again"

"This was my second time at Pelagia. The first time food was great and service spot on. This time however, food remained good but service suffered terribly even though the restaurant was not at full capacity. It was a combination of the kitchen and floor service in my opinion. Starters took 25 minutes to arrive and then mains about the same time after that. Kitchen is visible from the dining rooms and we saw some of our dishes sitting on the ledge to be carried to the table with lots of able staff (not our waiter) passing back and forth in front of them, even looking at them to determine where they went. We nearly went up to get them ourselves but finally they made there way to us so that wasn't necessary."

"Absolutly amazing I came in for dinner last week and enjoyed every secound of my stay, and they told me about the buffet that they offer on holidays. I gave it a try and it blew me away. Way more than I expected and the service was over the top for a buffet style of dinning. Price was moderate and the overall experience was amazing."

"Not your typical Italian restaurant in the fact that this goes way beyond typical. The service was outstanding from the smiling host to the manager and chefs walking around talking to everyone. He even convienced me to try their infused grappa. I didn't even know what grappa was and I left with my palate wanting more, except I had to drive. The food was good and you could tell everything was fresh. They even have a herb garden on their patio for their recipies. I truly enjoyed the great hospitality and will make sure to have it on my list for the next time I am in Tampa. A great find that leaves you wanting more."

"I just dined her again for the 5th time and it seems that every time I dine here my experience gets better and better. I walked in and the manager remembered me asking how my day went and if I would like a mojito (since I drank quite a few last time). I said yes, its great to enjoy a great mojito so fresh. They get the mint from their own herb garden on the patio. The server Alejandro was a true gem and treated me perfectly. They had a loud event in the back that I wish I could have been apart of. He said it was a new menu release party. Well I hope they didn't change much since this is the best food I have had while living in Tampa. The open kitchen is always fun to watch its like a live tv show, and the veal was fork tender!!!"

"This is the second time I dined here on a Friday night in a 3 week span and the experience was remarkably similar. The food is fantastic but the service is lacking basically because there is not enough staff. There was no host or hostess to greet us when we arrived. Eventually a waiter came by to seat us at the 1 clean table that was available. There were other empty tables that had yet to be cleared which is an eyesore for a nice restaurant. It took several minutes to be greeted by a server while we witnessed them openly discuss amongst each other which one would wait on us. Our waiter was very good about explaining the specials and making recommendations, we just had a hard time getting him to come to the table to take our order."

"We enjoyed a SPECTACULAR five course dining experience that we will not soon forget. Every course was wonderful, but I'd say that the standouts were the deconstructed Caesar salad and the spinach ravioli with wild mushrooms. Both were divine. We will be heading back to Pelagia very, very soon."

"Noting it was a set menu for Valentine's Day, but of the 4 entrees we ordered the Filet and Osso Buco. The Filet was extremely fatty and unseasoned and the Osso Buco was dry with very sweet polenta (not describing any sweetness on the menu). Service was slow and unprofessional. Definitely would not visit this place again..."

"We were initially sat right by the entrance and asked to move to a less trafficked area of the restaurant. Our server appeared put out when we asked for a moment to go over the wine list and then developed a lag in response time with each of our interactions. My dinner guest and I enjoyed each other’s company despite the service, and the overcooked gnocchi with the bland tasting spare ribs and ragu... the reason for our visit was the semifredo that when presented was chalky and frozen beyond acceptability… the crème brule was representative of the sophomoric attempt by the table in the back of the Sur La Table cooking class that apparently drank too much wine. "We we there for a "day after Valentine's" dinner so wanted a romantic setting. It wasn't crowded but we were seated next to the bar and it appeared that the bartender waited on us (or at least part-time bartender). The server knew very little about wine and recommended an "oaky" Chardonnay that was not at all. Food was pretty good but the place seems not a vibrant as it was the last time we were there - quite a while ago. Meal was well prepared, salad was very good and food was above average, for sure. Wasn't very busy for a Friday night."

"I have been to the Pelagia three times. Very good food. Great atmosphere. Great place. All was great this visit too, we just didn't get the appetizer we ordered. The waiter forgot to put that order in. It's probably a good thing, because we still had some "room" for a delicious dessert!"
