Leslie's The Tavern at Rockingham
Leslie's is a "hidden gem" tucked in the hills of southern Vermont. Since 1986 Chef-Owner John Marston and his wife, Leslie have quietly created an oasis for great food in the Bellows Falls area. Quality is assured because our Chef cooks every meal every night! Utilizing fresh local ingredients, many from his own garden, Chef John Marston offers unique, hard to resist dishes, that he has developed over his 30 year career. From Thai dishes to steaks to vegetarian we try to please a variety of palettes.
Originally an 18th Century Tavern and Inn,Leslie's offers a candlelit atmosphere in three intimate dining rooms, a welcome respite from the faced paced world outside. Full bar and outside patio are available as well.

"The food was very good; well seasoned, large portions and delivered hot. Very good salads. Unfortunately the atmosphere took away somewhat from the overall experience. It was a winter evening and as one of the first guests, the room was still quite cool. They need better signage for where the front door is and to refresh everything from the paint to the menus. It looked like the gardens behind the house will be lovely to look at once the warmer weather returns."

"Leslie's has been around for nearly 30 years and my large and extended family has been dining there from the beginning. Went back recently for the first time in a couple of years, now that I am permanently back in the area and not just visiting family and was just as happy as ever! The food is excellent - reliably so; the menu is interesting and varied; the wine list is decent (not spectacular but definitely drinkable!); the dining rooms are so pleasant; and once I said whose daughter I am, I got a huge hug from Leslie! There were (regrettably) few diners while we were there so we got to chat at length with both Leslie and John (great chef!) at the end of the evening. This is definitely one of the better dining locations in the area. I like"
