"Went early because we had theater tickets. Had 6:00 pm reservations and were the first guests. Sat at bar. Service was excellent. Has a limited wine list but had some good choices. We ordered a 2008 Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon and the bar tender immediately asked if we wanted it decanted. She did an excellent job. The tapas selections were mixed. Most of what we had were excellent. I would recommend the meatballs, artichoke dip and the baked shrimp and chorizo skewers. This is not a formal restaurant with tables. Itnisva lounge. Later in the evening it probably gets pretty loud. Still, it was fine for a pre-theater dinner."

"Cocktails delicious and alcohol not spared (we had Violet Kiss, Jamaican Ting and Old Fashioned). Very good selection of wines (we had Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc). While some may complain that it is on the expensive side, for Midtown Manhattan, its not a shock to the pocket. Highly recommend the Artichoke & Spinach Dip, Meatballs and Hummus & Pita. Delicious food, hot and fresh.
The most wonderful thing about 48 Lounge is their fantastic staff! Without doubt, one of the few bars in New York that pay special attention to their clientele. It was extemely busy the night we were there but never once had to call anyone over! Receiving customer service like this is worth every penny spent on a great night out. Thank you!"
