"We have dined here twice in two weeks, and the first great experience was not a fluke—the second was as good or better. It was very busy for a Thursday evening, but the wait staff handled it with ease. An interesting note: we observed that about half of the diners brought their own wines with them. PlanB's wine list is not complex, and the wines are reasonably priced, but it is nice to know that your own selection (that is not on their wine list, please!) is welcome for a reasonable corkage. The soft-shell crab on the blackboard that evening was superb! Hope to have it again before it goes out of season."

"I have never forgotten dining in quaint French bistros in Paris and surrounds, even though it was 30 years ago. Most "French" restaurants I consider an Americanized dining experience...until now. Plan B took me back to France. When you arrive you can glance at the menu, but check the chalkboard as the good stuff is up there. The mussels are beyond excellent; the rack of lamb is fantastic. Our group also had scallops, pasta, prawns, and filet mignon and everyone was fully satisfied. Fantastic desserts, too. Franck, our server, was most accommodating, especially getting the cork out of our 1985 bottle of French wine we brought along. Plan B is a bit hard to find but well worth looking for if you want an evening in France without leaving town."

"Plan B is located in a tired looking strip center. However, you are well rewarded if you look past that issue. The food is very well done, classic bistro style cuisine. The wine list is quite good. The service is outstanding - warm and gracious, attentive and fun. While large sums weren't spent on the restaurant's build out, it's a comfortable, relaxing setting. We highly recommend Plan B."

"I introduced a friend who is very difficult to please and they nailed her! She is a fan. My favorite is the frisee salad with the poached egg in brique and I had never had a tartelette before which will be a regular first starter from now on. I also appreciate that they bring in unusual ingredients that are hard to come by like Rouget from the Meditteranean and Ramps from Appalachia.
The owners are very knowledgeable and engage diners readily. I love the touch of French that it exudes without ever being stuffy. I wish it were in my neighborhood but the new Paln B Bistro planned in midtown will be closer. It doesn't matter-it should be a destination."

"This is my third or fourth visit in the last 12 months. It is a great neighborhood resource. Food is always of high quality, excellently prepared and served. Specials are always to be considered before ordering off menu. Knowledgeable waitstaff and servers. Equally consistent is the "attitude" of the slim, blond hostess. She continues to be aloof, brisk and not welcoming. This should not be the first point of contact in a restaurant, or any business, for that matter. Not a great first impression, but once warned, it can be overlooked, even toyed with! To be clear, I am a continuing customer."

"We had a great experience at Plan B. We made reservations for 4, arrived on time and our table was ready. Our service was impeccable. Very on it without being in your face and interrupting. Between salads, soup, appetizers and our dinners, the worst I can say is the calamari was just ok. Everything else was fantastic!! Loved the mussels!!!! "A neighborhood favorite, but worth a drive for this dining treasure. Plan B offers daily specials in addition to a menu that features something to please anyone. Mussels lovers can rejoice--you can order them four or five ways. Ambiance is sleek, modern, yet feels warm and inviting. Owners are on-site managers and attentive. Free and convenient parking in adjoining shopping center (Arden and Watt Avenue)."

"We had a delicious and beautifully prepared meal, top notch service, thoroughly enjoyable evening. Wait staff was attentive, and we enjoyed talking with the owner, too. Our friends hadn't been there since the opening week, when they hit some bumps in the road with the food and service, so we were delighted to prove to them that any such problems have long since been ironed out. Initially a little reluctant, they are now fans, just like we are. We were delighted to hear that they'll be opening a Plan B Cafe on 20th Street downtown--perfect for lunch near work!"

"My husband and I have been here three times now, and I can't say enough good things. From the personable and professional service, full bar (try the planB cocktail!, to the great variety AND quality of the food, it all is top notch! I have to add that when we ate here last on St. Patricks day even the lovely green carnations (a rare variety, not florists dyed carnations) were a step above the average high end restaurant."

"Upon arriving, I was a bit startled that there were not many patrons in the dining area. I travel and have many guests for dinner and an empty room is usual a sign of not very good service or food. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. the food and the service were outstanding. I figured that we perhaps got lucky and found Plan b on a slow evening.
The food was fantastic and the wait staff were experts in the menu as well as in accomodating us. Our every expectation was met or exceeded. I look forward to my return to Plan b."

"We went on Valentine's Day. It was packed. Good points: food tasted good, waiter was nice. Bad points: The food quantity was very small. We had the pork loin and the lamb plates. Both were very small portions. We had to ask for salt...TWICE! There was no salt or pepper on the table. After using the salt on our salad they took it away. When our entree arrived, we had to ask for salt again. I don't use much salt, however, the food was underseasoned. We also had to ask for bread. I noticed some tables had bread and others didn't. Couldn't figure our why. My boyfriend had the oysters for appetizer. The oysters tasted good, but were a teaser. They were so small. I didn't know it was posssible to buy mini oysters."

"My partner and I went to Plan B Restaurant for Valentine's Day thsi year. It was our first time eating here and we were simply amazed. Everything was delicious, cooked perfectly. The service was really good. We were taken care of and the owner took the time to chat with us and make us feel welcomed. "Making the reservation was simple and efficient. The reservation was for eight o'clock. We were seated at eight twenty five... but it was Valenitines and they were extremely busy. (Good) Some of the serving staff were at Plan B only for Valentine's Day so were not familiar with everything on the menu. Not a big deal. Dinner was a price fixed menu. Very easy and efficient. I wish it was always like that. Fewer decisions to make. Thanks for the help with a good evening."

"We were there for the Valentine's Day special and it was a great success. The fixed three course menu offered three choices per course and we chose the escargot and salmon tartlet as our starters, the rack of lamb and pork tenderloin for our main courses and the chocolate cup with raspberry mousse and pears poached in red wine for dessert. All courses were delicious and I loved the subtle mint reduction on the lamb - a perfect complement. Zi aldo appreciated the innovative presentation of the escargot which were delicately flavored with garlic and delicious. It was a very busy night but the service was excellent. They have an outdoor area with a few couches and seating - can't wait to come back and try again on a regular night. Bravo!"

"I've been lucky to eat at many five star restaurants around the world and Plan B continues to be a culinary delight. I've been a few times and every experience has been fabulous. Their specialty is mussels and they're delicious. Lava cake is heavenly."

"This restaurant is a fantastic find! The food was amazing, only to be topped by the service. I think our server may have been the owner. I had decided on an entree, but after our server described the specials, I changed my mind. We had the venison carpaccio, which was amazing! I had the french onion soup, which was by far the best french onion soup I have ever tasted and we had the rack of lamb and the stuffed quail as entrees. The rack of lamb was seasoned great, my only hesitation was that it was a bot rare for my taste and I actually like my meat on the rare side. The stuffed quail was absolutely amazing! It was stuffed with a few things, one of them mushrooms, which I don't really care for, but it was so tasty."
