"I will never go back We had a 12pm reservation and were seated at time Our food did not arive untl 2:15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you kidding me? It took over 2 hours and that was after we begged our server and the manager.

"I have been to the Beach house several times. The whole experience was bad. They were out of many things. Had to return our drinks because they were made wrong. Food was not as good as before. Something was very off. Sad because we took my boyfriends parents for there first time there and had to keep apologizing to them that it wasn't usually like this."

"This place needs a makeover! First, mad props to the valet guys, they work their butts off. Unfortunately the parking lot is so tiny that they have to double & triple park cars, and pile cars inches from each other. Second, the food was horrible, from the tasteless apps (lobster bisque was worse than canned bisque) to the entres. Everything was void of any flavor, except for the completely burnt pork chop that my mom received for her mothers day meal (you could only taste the char)!!!"

"For a comfortable setting and enjoyable brunch with my wife, a mother of two and grandmother of four, the Beach House experience was perfect. Nice weather, tasty food and fine service. The patio offered a spectacular view of the ocean and Cardiff reef action. A winner for Mother's Day !"

"The restaurant was crowded and busy and we waited a while for our table on this Mother's Day, but we were not disappointed. Sitting outside and hearing the crash of the waves, the complimentary champagne and the flowers gave us much pleasure. The kid's menu was perfect, as was everything else. The kitchen seems slow, but it did not matter because our family was together in this beautiful setting enjoying the sunshine and the conversation. Always good."

"We were sitting for 45 minutes before ordering and even getting drinks. When the food came, it looked as though it had been sitting for a while. They did bring melon and muffins that were (I'm 90% sure) from Costco while you waited. For the price, not worth it."

"Our family loves the Beach House. This our 2nd visit with Thanksgiving of last year being our first. This visit was a huge contrast to Thanksgiving. We should have known it would be such a busy time being Mother's Day and all. Our server, Briana, was so great! Through all of the chaos and the rush that we all know the staff was going through, she handled it very well and was really nice. We were patient and very well taken of. Thank you Briana!"

"We tried the beach house for the second time this week with friends. For a Saturday it was a zoo. Reservation was for 6:15 didn't get seated until 6:45. We did ask for a window seat so I kind of understand. My friends ordered Filet Mignon and was very specific about the way it was cooked. This meat was unacceptable but the server brought a second immediately that was perfect. All in all the night was very nice."

"This restaurant was amazing and the hostess were very kind and friendly. A friend and I made the reservation for 8PM and we got there incredibly early and they accommodated us and seated us early. I was very pleased. The server was not very friendly, but everyone else was very kind. I really loved that you could see the beautiful ocean and scenery from anywhere in the restaurant. The Ambiance was really wonderful and the food was delicious! I would definitely return there and recommend this place to anyone.
This is a great place for romantic date, lunch or dinner place, and great for groups. I bet this place is wonderful during the summertime when the weather is warmer!"

"I don't know if it's because I'm from the New York area but the food did not seem on par with the caliber I expect from this nice of a restaurant. Also they ran out of many menu items before 8pm on a Friday. I'd think you'd be stocked for this important rush time. While it may mean that the food is fresh a better pulse on the supply/demand is needed. So if i wasn't paying the price for the food I was definitely paying for the ambience which was exceptional. Most tables have a great view inside and out and ours was no exception. Service was great as well."

"Had good meal with beachfront table on warm evening. Fantastic view and atmosphere on the sand! Food was good, but I had purchased a Group-On coupon which really wasn't worth any more than their usual sunset early dinner. So that was disappointing since I wanted to order from the regular menu. Won't be buying the Group-On "deal" anymore."

"The ambiance is adequate and the view is beautiful, but the food has way too much salt .Since I am on a low salt diet I am very sensitive to the salt level in food. The salt level was so high as to make the food taste bad. Salt can be added by the diner but not taken away. They did comp us on the appetizer. Maybe we go back to food tasters."

"Made reservations for my girlfriends birthday a week in advance, I requested a patio table and told that it would be fine. Upon arrival the parking Loy was a mess, we waited 20 minutes past our reservation time and still didn't get a patio table. The food was good but the service was awful. We sat for most of the meal with empty glasses. After flagging our waiter down I ordered a drink that never came... When we finally got our check and attempted to leave the valet was packed and yet another wait... Great location, sorry service and ok food (over priced) never again."

"If this wasn't right on the ocean, there would be no point in going there! Photos did an amazing job on covering up how old and worn down this place has become. A little paint, covering the torn up benches and tearing out the 70's carpet! Thought that our server was terrible, but then saw that our whole section was being ignored! Lobster was over cooked as well as the salmon. Steaks were really small. All around a let down. :( There were three servers in our section and a food runner. Should have one server for one area, instead of running all over! Will never go back! Fortunately there are two restaurants on either side. Have to try those out because they also have that beautiful view."

"I remember how it used to be and sadly the Beach House has dropped the ball. It was Sunday evening just at sunset and they were out of any draft beer, several main course fish and several wines (of what we asked about).For a second, we thought we might be on some reality show where everything you order they are out of. So I ordered a New York medium done and got a fillet cut that was crispy. I don’t believe it was the servers fault. I actually think the kitchen was having some food stocking issues which was complicating everything else. Who knows,, very sad"

"We arrived for drinks and dinner at 4:30pm on Friday. First, the taps were broken so there was no beer available. Then we ordered salads and the waiter said they had no mixed greens so the salad could only be made with spinach. Next, there was no shrimp available for the appetizers. Lastly, there was no tuna and other fish entrees. This is a seafood restaurant, right?

"We were pleasantly surprised that the service and food were excellent after having read some of the negative reviews, especally in light of the fact that we were using a Groupon offer. We had the lobster choice from the special menu and found it to be a good size portion and very well prepared. The server was very sweet and accomodating and seating was excellent. It may have helped that the res was for 5:30 on a Tuesday, so not very busy. The appetizers and dessert were also very good. Luckily (being somewhat thrifty) we parked along the beach to the South of the restaurant, which enabled us to walk off some of the great meal.Their ''happy hour'' menu looks to be pretty reasonable, given the location and food quality."

"The food was mediocre. It has been many years since I have been to a restaurant where someone in my party had to send food back. Until Sunday night. The pork chop was charred (after it was ordered medium rare) and the shrimp were black. When it was remade it was delicious. There are no beers on tap and they were out of most of the microbrew beers. On the plus side, the view was wonderful. There is outdoor seating both up and downstairs. I would probably come back if I can get a table outside downstairs on a nice day and have appetizers and drinks."

"We love that place and we always go there for special occations. This time, it was my father in law's birthday and as usual we loved it! Even though, it was cold and rainy, we sat outside on the patio and the heaters were enough to keep us warm and if they turned off, an attendant kept coming back to light them back up. Our waiter was also very nice. We just love the Sunday Brunch at this place! ;)"

"Love the Beach House, it's always a good spot. Great outdoor dinning! The sunset menus (4:30-6:30) are great prices & food options. Our server was not good this time. But other visits the servers have been good. I would recommend the Beach House!"

"We went here for my significant other's birthday. There was a bit of difficulty finding parking unless you're willing to go valet. We had reservations for prix fixe dinner (complimentary of GroupOn). The scenery was dim lit, which drew our attention outside to the beautiful water front. They had a decent wine list and the prix fixe menu had notable entrees. The food was good and the service was great. I'd recommend the Beach House to my friends for special occasions or casual dining."

"Service was terrible. Appetizer order wrong, water glasses never refilled, sat for a long time before being acknowledged. Food just ok and portions ridiculously small. Bones in the fish in the ciopino and fish was mushy. Only 1/2 of outdoor heaters worked."

"The food was excellent. Every dish could not be beat. And the view spectacular.However this was the first time that the service was not up to our past experience.First some settings where missing. When we asked the server for additional settings he brought a random collection of utensils, which still did not give everyone a complete setting. We had to ask a second time. My wife order lobster tail but was brought a whole lobster. She finds looking at the eyes upsetting. We had ordered wine but had to remind our server of that fact. Water was never refilled during the meal and we had to request it at the end."

"I have been here many times and love it. However, this last time we sat in the inside patio area (due to family member's handicap) and I don't recommend it. The seats were uncomfortable and view slightly obstructed. Food and service was excellent as always."

"The Beach House is conveniently located between North County and the City of San Diego. The outside dining areas are wonderful, right on the ocean with a view of the beach and surfers. Sunsets are spectacular with no onbstructions.
The menu is varied and the food excellent. Brunch on Sundays is especially wonderful with Mimosas and other great bar drinks and delicious food. The staff is pleasant and efficient and very much focused on giving their guests a memorable dining experience.
I would highly recommend this restaurant and have found it especially rewarding for out of town guests - especially those who cannot enjoy being on the ocean in their own home towns."

"I read the comments regarding the wait at the front desk, even if you have reservations, and found them to be warranted. There were several different groups that had to wait for even just a hello. There were workers that walked by, but no one assured us any assistance."

"On the water in cardiff. We were there for Easter Brunch and the place was packed. Food was very good, not fantastic, but good. We had four kids and eight adults. Everyone enjoyed the Brunch and then the kids went running to the Ocean. The adults just stood back and enjoyed the scene. Kudos to the Valet Parking staff! They kept smiling in light of the fact that there were too many cars and not enough spaces!"
