"If you do not eat pork....,please stay away from this place!!! They have pork in every single dish they make.
The waitress as sweet as she will be will tell you no there is no pork in the dishes but there are.
Roaches everywhere.The biggest out of shape roaches barely flying up on the walls and ceiling.

"The atmosphere is what really makes this place incredible. A live jazz band upstairs playing happy upbeat tunes really keep the energy going all night. The food was ok, others will argue it is the best Cajun in Charlotte but I disagree. I order Shrimp Gumbo, the shrimp was rubbery and overall it lacked flavor. I also order Shrimp Creole, a Cajun standard, and was also slightly disappointed at the lack of flavor. My wife ordered Shrimp Scampi and raved about it. The server was really slow and didn't provide refills for our drinks but was very personable. All in all I would go back and give Cajun Queen another try. The food wasn't awful, I just wasn't blown away as I anticipated based on other reviews."

"Took the family out to celebrate Mothers Day. WE all had a very enjoyable experience. The service was top notch, the ambiance was great and the food was the star of the day. There was six in our group and each entree ordered was cooked to perfection and a pallet pleaser. We will definitely be visiting again in the near future and definitely recommend it to individuals looking for great food with a cajun flare. A++++++"

"Diners should really take the time to enjoy a meal here. The price of the entrees include a premium for the experience. The signature étouffée is not quite as hot as described but still delish. Get a bottle of wine...bar skills not worth it. Excellent service, ample parking, and a beautiful setting make this a memory-maker."

"This restaurant has excellent food. The servings are more than adequate, the servers are friendly and the atmosphere is good. Live music is great and the atmosphere is vibrant. Parking is limited so be prepared to find a spot on the street. Prices are very reasonable and the deserts are great. We will definately return. Cajun is good!"

"We like to go early and sit upstairs. We can talk before the music starts then sit back and enjoy the group that plays (different all the time ) It is worth going here for the entertainment but the food makes it a great experience. New Orleans style and still great service. They have expanded the upstairs so one can sit away from the main room in at a quieter table but still experience the music.

"First visit for my husband and I hadn't been in 10+ years simply due to my husband not being very adventurous with food. Food was excellent. My husband had the 14oz pork chop which had a wonderful Cajun BBQ sauce. I had the Diane with chicken, shrimp and crawfish. Delicious, but next time I'm going for all crawfish...chicken is unnecessary when the crawfish is THAT good. Our server (Shauna) was way above par...she was attentive and personable. Will visit again to try other dishes."

"We had not been there for 20 years after a bad service experience with a large group, we had brought to the restaurant. "I came with wife and neighbors. They love the fried oysters. From a previous visit I remembered the shrimp scampi as delicious. This time the teaspoon of lemon sauce was thin and not so tasty, and I couldn't cut the broccoli with a knife. We sat upstairs where a table was graciously reserved for us by Laurie. We had agreed beforehand to sit at an upstairs table to honor our neighbor's preference. He'd been a band member there for decades. For me, sitting by the band practically curtailed table conversation. However, it was a friendly and memorable place, a pleasant night out and a pretty good culinary experience, except for the broccoli."

"We LOVE the food and ambience at the Cajun Queen. You can't go wrong. My only complaint was our table on this particular visit. We had a reservation, but we were squished into a tight corner table. We felt like we were "on-top-of" the people next to us. We did NOT have this issue on our first visit. Both times, the food & service was excellent!"

"Enjoyed our experience here, would like to come back and try the awesome looking Pork Chop dish I noticed being served to the table next to us. Our Crawfish Scampi appetizer was excellent and the dinner portions of Shrimp and Grits and the Shrimp Scampi were enough to take a little home with us."

"Cajun Queen never disappoints! The food is consistently good every time I go. I do recommend sitting downstairs when they have a live band playing unless you don't care to carry on a conversation with your date anyway because it is pretty loud upstairs."

"The food was great! The service was spoty. Our drinks were actually kept full but the actual waiter (Greg C) only came by once or twice but was friendly enough. He seemed very "rehearsed" so it was missing that genuine individual dining experience. The noise in the dining area was so loud that I couldn't hear anything my boyfriend was saying even though we were at a tiny table in a corner. Atmosphere is definitely no condusive to conversation."

"As always the Cajun Queen brought their "A' game! From the moment we walked in they greeted us, sat us and we had our water as soon as we sat. Within minutes the waitress was there taking our orders. Drinks and bread came quickly as did the appetizer salads. Waitress was very friendly and had fun with the kids as well. The food came next and was top nothch as expected and they delivered! Great experience."
