The Metropolitan Grill
The moment you step into the Metropolitan Grill, you know you have entered a classic steakhouse. Guests enter through tall mahogany doors to be greeted by tuxedo clad Maitre D’s. Cuts of beef are showcased in a glass display in the front entryway. Framed photographs of celebrities, sports heroes and local politicians, all frequent visitors to The Met, line the walls.
At the Metropolitan Grill, the focus is on the Prime beef, American and Japanese Wagyu. Steaks are seared over the high heat of the “Iron Wood of the World,” imported mesquite charcoal, ensuring the most tender, juicy steaks available. Metropolitan Grill Chefs personally select each cut that is served to guests.
The Metropolitan Grill’s award-winning wine list showcases the definitive steakhouse selection of premium West Coast red wines, with special emphasis on Cabernets, Merlots and Meritage.

"The food was fabulous. Had Australian Lobster, Rib eye Steaks and Escargot. All cooked to perfection. Waiter was knowledgeable with the food, but was unaware of added items to the menu including additional wines. Apparently they were added on his day off. The only real "discomfort" was the actual booth itself. They were sunken in dramatically causing leg pain and left us with wanting to hurry our dinner just so we could stand up. The seating needs to be either updated or at a minimum re-upholstered. At least add cushioning to the seats. The seat we were in was 19/1 in case you care."

"It was mothers day and the Met Grill was very busy. We waited over an hour and a half for our dinner. The Service was good and the waiter came to the table several times to let us know they were working on our meal. The food was outstanding and well worth the wait!"

"I was anxious to try the Met again after our last experience (lousy service - long wait), Well, our perfect server made our experience wonderful - she knew the menu and individually helped us pick the perfect entree. "Just took my wife to the Metropolitan for her birthday. It was an awesome experience. The food was excellent, albeit a bit pricey. But it was worth it for such a special occasion. Our server was a long-time employee and very knowledgeable about the menu items. All the employees were very personable and all had a very good sense of humor...No stuffiness here! I had the dual Filet Mignon(4 oz. Prime and 4 oz. Wagyu); my wife had the 8 oz. Filet Mignon. We both ordered the Classic Bearnaise sauce. Both orders were cooked to perfection. We would highly recommend the Metropolitan Grill for any special occasion - Pricey, but well worth the experience."

"Well, Handsome Scott Brown did it again! Not only was the food perfect, the drinks divine, but the service~ WOW! From the hostess, to the busser, to the valet, to Handsome Scott Brown, everyone was great and everything was perfect.

"Amazing. Everything about this place was perfect. I marked 'fit for foodies', though some might disagree. This place is a classic steakhouse with amazing food. One of the best steaks I've had. The portions are likely bigger than many 'foodies' are used to, as they are, again, quite classic. Go. Enjoy. Have a martini (it'll knock your socks off)."

"The Metropolitan Grill continues to be the best steakhouse in Seattle and one of the best nationally. The service is excellent and the food remains wonderful. My only small complaint was that after they cut the two steaks my family was sharing they were not temperature hot by the time they arrived in front of us at the table.
The porterhouse remains excellent and I was impressed by what they did for two family members birthdays.
All in all, a continued great experience."

"We've been to the Met several times before, but this was our least enjoyable experience by far. The initial wait was short (6:45PM reservation), but we were seated at a table that was honestly far too small for four people. Yes, we're a tall family, but this table would've been small for average height customers. Also, when we sat down, the area smelled like "sweat", which was not at all appetizing :(
The wait staff -- upon my prompting -- was able to relocate us to another table. It was more comfortable, but also in a higher traffic area. We didn't receive our meal until after 8PM, though, which was a longer-than-expected wait. Meal was good, but overall not a great night for any of us."

"Hello,
Hearing that this restaurant was the place to go for steak, I thought it would really be the best place in Seattle for steak, but boy was I wrong. I thought the steak was the same as if I purchased the steak at the Black Angus across the street from my house. If I had known that, I wouldn't have driven to Seattle. The seating at that place was horrible. My legs had no room, me an my wife had to sit very still to make sure we didn't bump the table with our legs. We didn't even have any breathing room! Our waiter by the way was horrible. The only thing I liked was that the location was very convenient."
