"Our first time here. The restaurant had great ambiance but with a packed house it was very loud. Hors d'oeuvres were great! We had the crab artichoke dip, shrimp corn fritters, and calamari. Dinner was mediocre . Two steaks were ordered, one was so so and the other was good, not sure what why the difference. Maybe the cuts? Another person got chicken that was also so so, and the fourth got the fish with crab-meat that was good. Dessert was scrumptious! Peanut Butter pie to die for, Italian lemon cake and cheese cake were all outstanding. Our waitress was very attentive even though the place was packed and she was very busy. Service was excellent! Would go again when less crowded"

"2 out of the 3 dinners were over cooked, waitress was sooo slow & spilled 1 of our apps. & did not offer to replace it. The food is very average BUT is extremely over priced. Especially when 1 of the over cooked dinners was a filet, this is a steak house, correct?
Would never go again nor would I suggest to anyone I know."

"Great Place. The Steaks really were amazing, tender and juicy. The salad with arugula and strawberries was fantastic. The best I have had in quite awhile. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful. The pace of the meal was perfect. It was just right - not too fast and not too slow. Too many chain places make us feel rushed. Overall a very enjoyable dinner and evening."

"Celebrated our anniversary here on the recommendation of friends- made for a terrific meal and a wonderful evening.Staff was welcoming and accommodating- offering to re-seat us as the first table presented was almost in hallway,and close to the wait station. Service was excellent- our friendly, informative waitress gave us great direction as first-time Pietro's patrons. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his cowboy ribeye - marveling at each and every bite. I ordered the 8 oz filet- only one word to describe it: perfect. With no kids in tow, we felt free to skip a green vegetable and ordered the onion rings instead - there is nothing in the world to compare to an onion ring done right! Ordered the NY cheesecake-not sure the name fits, but WOW!"

"I have passed by this place many times on my trips into West Chester and alway wondered how it would stack up against all of the other great places that the city has on the restaurant end...to my great surprise Pietro's Prime is a Great Steak & Seafood place...they had many unique dishes as well as the standard Steak n Seafood dishes...my Cajun Delmonico steak was one of the Best Steaks I have ever had...cooked to my liking and served with Crumbled Blue Cheese, Wow...there were many other toppings and sauces to choose from...the menu is A la Carte so we tried two of the sides and they were great too! There was a large and lively crowd in what was the back room and a band was playing in the bar which just kind of added to the ambiance!"

"We wanted to sit outside and didn't know the back patio area was a smoking area so we had to sit out front along busy Market Street. There were lots of motorcycles riding by for some reason making it very hard to have a conversation. It is a shame the back patio is a smoking area. The food was great and the service but the outdoor dining options were frustrating."

"Being a West Chester native, I really want to like this place. I'm a big fan of steak and it would be nice to have a truly outstanding steak house in town. Bottom line is that they are just not outstanding... at least not when you compare them to the likes of Capital Grille, Sullivans, or Mortons. I've been there several times and have come to the conclusion that you get an very expensive meal that is just OK. Our steaks were cooked properly but somewhat tough and not very tasteful (that goes for all three times we've been there). Spinach side order was undercooked and a little tough, mushroom side order was ok but not great. Good news is that the martinis were great and the arugula and goat cheese salad special was great."

"What a wonderful experience!!! We have always ventured into Phila. for a great steak dinner. Now that I have been to Pietro's Prime, it is my new favorite place for a great steak dinner. The food was amazing. The steaks were prepared to the perfect temperature, and we're tender and delicious. The appetizers and sides were tasty and served family style, with portions ample for sharing. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. It was an awesome experience!!! We will definitely return..."

"From the start, the attendant outside valet parked my car even though I did not have any cash. The service inside was friendly, informative and timely. Waiter gave us the specials before we ordered cocktails, but that was quickly corrected! For appetizers we had bacon wrapped shrimp. The bacon was well cooked, and did not overwhelm the shrimp, which was not overdone. Not an easy task. The fried calamari was lightly battered and lightly seasoned. Both came with flavorful dips. For entrees, we both had the bone-in filet, ordered medium rare and cooked about perfectly. Seasoning on the light side. We also had one lobster tail, cooked nicely. Sides of lobster mac and sauteed spinach both very good. Not cheap but reasonable options on menu."

"Pietro's Prime is worth the drive to West Chester. There are many great restaurants in that area and Pietro's Prime is still a somewhat of a hidden gem. On a cold winter night you can get a great meal and feel very warm in it's cozy atmosphere. Summer nights allow you to find parking in town and take a nice stroll before or after your meal. The wine list is extensive and the menu has other choices besides their awesome array of steaks. You will find some appetizers and sides containing lobster, crab, shrimp or scallops as well. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive regardless of whether the restaurant is full or there are open tables. I suggest OpenTable because you definitely need a reservation later in the week and weekends"

"The back room was nearly empty at 6:30.. The fried calamari was nicely done. The steaks and lamb chops were cooked perfectly. The dry aged strip steak was very flavorful. The salad and side dishes were fresh and well prepared. The sides were perhaps a little over salted.
The server was friendly and attentive, and made sure to tell us the sides are made from fresh ingredients.
A dining companion from the UK reported it was the best meal of an extended business trip.
I would love to see flavorful cuts like the aged NY strip available in a more reasonable 4, 6, or 8 oz portion. Business travelers have no way to deal with doggy bags, leaving behind 1/2 a delicious steak seems a waste."

"We went with expectations of a Sullivans or Mortons only a little "quainter". The setting was rustic and homey. We did have to wait at the front (less than 10 minutes) as the receptionist (maitre'd) was in the back preparing takeout (seemed a little odd). Anyway,we were seated, waited on & serviced very nicely. The soup was very good and the meals were served in a timely fashion.
Bottom Line: THe cut of steak was VERY good. The lobster tail was BELOW AVERAGE (small and chewy). My tuna steak was not as good as I prepare at home and I am no chef. I realize this is not a seafood house but we would have fared much better at The Bonefish Grill at HALF the price..."

"Great Valentines dinner, we had the Kobe steak and lobster special and it was cooked perfectly. Small wait when we got there so we sat at the bar. When they called our name it was actually for someone else with the same name and we lost our seats at the bar. The manager took care of us and gave us a nice table for two by the fireplace. "We were a party of four and were celebrating a birthday. It took well over an hour for our dinners to be prepared. We each got one piece of bread to hold us over. This was really unacceptable. The wine list offered a 2008/2009 Chianti Classico for $48, but we were brought a 2010 for the same price. It was still good, but you should keep your wine list consistent with your wine cellar. The food was delicious, however."

"Went for a special birthday celebration and ran into friends at the bar as we arrived. Hostess said "take your time, tell us when you are ready to sit", but then came and asked us to sit just after we ordered drinks. We were 1st paarty seated in the dining room, but last served. Server was friendly and knowledgable, but we waited over an hour for our meal. One entree (a prime rib steak) was served cold. Server happily returned it to the kitchen to heat up. Was promised a visit from the manager that never happened. Someone other than our server (manager?) delivered the check "on behalf" of the server. He did not identify himself. Probably won't choose it again due to the overall level of service and high prices, but food was good."

"I've been looking locally for a great steak dinner for years and finally found it at Pietro's Prime! Each member of my family chose a different cut and all were prepared to perfection. Appetizers and sides were generous. A delicious evening out!"

"Seated right away and promptly waited on. Wine and appys came fast. Tick tock tick tock...... An hour later without a single check in by our waiter, our entrees arrive. An hour?? With not an update, explanation, nothing??? Thank god we were dining with people we like and were having great conversation to pass the time. The food was good but not spectacular enough to overcome the distaste of being ignored for an hour."

"We tried this for my husband's birthday with friends. The food was great and plenty of it! The atmosphere is nice - exposed brick walls, very trendy industrial chic interior. Martini list is extravagant and fun! We were there on a Wed. nite and it was packed! Lots of noise and then there was live music, which was good, but made an intimate conversation impossible."

"Upon making this reservation, we were excited to eat at Pietros but the evening quickly went downhill. When we checked in the hostess disappeared to find a table for us while the couple behind us was immediately seated in the main dining room. The hostess did not return so we ended up dealing with the manager. The manager asked if we had a reservation after the hostess already did and we were seated in the back room. In the back room, there was a couple with a child watching sponge bob on the flat screen while also watching cartoons on an iPad. Basically, it felt like we were at an Applebee's. The waiter, though prompt with service, was rather snobby. As far as the food goes, it was subpar."

"We've eaten here several times and typically enjoyed our experience. This visit was extremely disappointing. Had a reservation, but were told our table wasn't available when we arrived. 90 minutes later, we left and apparently our table still wasn't available - the hostess never provided us an update, never announce our table, never did anything. Horrible service. Great spot if you're looking for a college bar type of scene. Not so much if you're looking for a good steak and good ambiance."
