"The grilled octopus appetizer was delicious while the sweetbreads appetizer was very poor--too much salt, the fried cauliflower it came with was heavily battered and tasteless, and the sweetbreads themselves were kind of gloppy. As for entrees, the pork belly was divine--super crispy and infused with lovely rosemary. The hangar steak was decent but had a strange bone marrow sauce that was quite bland and didn't do a single thing for the dish except make it look strange. The server was fine but refused to look at us when we thanked her even though we left her a 20% tip--a little bit of a rude and unpleasant ending to the meal."

"This is the third time we have eaten at the Belcourt and it is consistently incredible. The food is beautifully presented, generous helpings, not terribly expensive and absolutely delicious. My butternut squash and apple ravioli appetizer was so amazing that I wanted to pick up the plate at the end of the dish and lick it clean (I didn't of course). Everyone had something different to eat and we all raved about our food. The service was efficient, friendly but not overbearing. The menu is very varied with items like pork cheeks but there is also chicken or duck. I highly recommend that you try this incredible East Village restaurant"

"It was a rainy night so not too crowded. I would guess it gets pretty noisy just based on the level of noise when it was almost empty. When I first sat down really hard to get a server's attention and then when I did they seemed annoyed that I had tracked them down.Food was interesting and inventive, some things worked like the squash ravioli with apples and some things did not -- the sweatbreads had no taste though the side of fried cauliflower was good but not as desribed."

"Creative food, well prepared, with high quality ingredients. The waiter was very knowledgeable, the chef was willing to work with my pregnant vegetarian wife. No wonder why I keep coming back."

"We live a block away and go there often to get fresh ground burgers and their pickled zucchini and truffle fries. Great wine list and they make many things in house which is great."

"Great place. Not crowded at all. Ambiance was very nice with all the glass doors/windows surrounding the restaurant. Loved that. I would recommend this restaurant to a couple wanting a nice romantic dinner or even a large group. Great location and friendly waitstaff as well.

"It's rare when everyone at the table has a great dining experience. Such was the case at Belcourt. This was a dinner visit after trying Belcourt for Brunch this past summer. Brunch was a wonderful experience since the food, ambiance and sunshine came together in just the right amounts. Dinner proved to be no exception. The food was delicious: Oysters on the half shell, Caesar's salad, cheese and cold-cut platter, butternut squash ravioli, pork belly and broiled fish filet. No question that we all want to go back. The place has been described as a French Bistro but the wait staff insist that it's more European Eclectic. But who cares, the place is wonderful."

"i love this place. i worry sometimes that it's not more crowded, but then you have to be careful what you wish for. my belcourt have a long and fruitful life. my friend and i shared a bottle of good red spanish wine. we had the charcuterie appetizer, i had the steak and he had the duck and we shared the pot de creme chocolat. yummmy all the way around."

"Great experience as always. Staff is great- incredibly sweet, knowledgeable and helpful. Food is delicious- very fresh ingredients, inventive dishes, great flavor and texture combinations. I live in the neighborhood and I never get tired of the menu (I come here a few times a month). Love Belcourt!"

"The food is truly outstanding. The pork cheeks were rich and intensely flavorful and the raviolo, delicate and sublime. Great deserts too. The service is friendly and attentive - the waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and helpful in selecting wine. All of the wines we tried were delicious and well priced. A great value all around."

"We went here before theatre and had a positive experience. The early bird $10 oyster special was a find as was the early menu and wine list. I certainly would go back since I hear that the brunch is special. Unfortunately our waitress didn not notify us of the early dinner specials. After we mentioned the oysters she then presented us with teh printed menu."
