The Natirar Estate, a nearly 500-acre site atop the mountains of Peapack, is the home of Ninety Acres Culinary Center, which consists of a cooking and wine school, and a restaurant offering unique and exciting menus featuring produce and livestock fresh from the estate farm. The restaurant, along with our private party facilities, redefines what a quality dining experience can and should be. We offer an a la carte menu in our dining rooms, a light bar menu in our bar and lounge areas, and the "Bring Me Food" experience, our interpretation of the tasting menu concept, exclusively in our kitchen dining area.
"Wonderful dinner at Ninety Acres! Delicious food and wine. Service was wonderful."

"Our head server Katie was very cordial and very helpful with our appetizer and entree choices. The beet salad with goat cheese was light and tasty. My husband had the quail and was very pleased. For our entree we both ordered the mushroom encrusted venison which melts like butter in your mouth. We will definitely be going back again."

"Valet parking on a wet night - 9/10. Attentive service from a knowledgeable staff - 8/10. Wine selection - absolutely terrific - although prices are what you'd expect - 9/10. Appetizers - yellowfin tuna, arugula salad & celery+leek soup - 7.5/10 (better than average, but not great) Apps get cleared, 40 minutes go by, then entrees show - NOT GOOD! - 5/10 for the kitchen & staff for not pushing the kitchen! Entrees - seared king salmon, strip steak, ribeye & truffle fettucine (from the app menu for the vegetarian in the group) - 8/10 (good, not memorable) Desserts - pretty good, nothing memorable. 6/10 2h:20m for a 3-course meal - a tad too long by my standards Overall - 8/10"

"In a class of its own, this restaurant has it all. Superb fare, excellent service and conducive environment. My wife and I enjoyed the best meal in our lives over a 2 1/2 hour period enjoying 6 individually prepared courses served by the head Chef David. We savored the delicate flavors of each course which blended with perfection.
The experience begins with an enjoyable drive up a winding road through a magnificent estate ending at a beautiful mansion converted into a high class restaurant. Make a reservation well in advance to achieve success. Don't miss this one."

"The only criticism is that we had to make reservations 6 weeks in advance for a Saturday night dinner for two. However, it was worth the wait and we have already made another reservation for two monts from now to try the Bring Me Food option. The view up to the restaurant is beautiful. The staff is very friendly. My husband forgot his reading glasses, they had a pair for him to use. We were unsure of which wine to choose and they recommended a few options. We went there for our anniversary and I am glad we did! My husband had the prime rib. He thought he'd get a small portion in a place like this. He was wrong. It was a good size portion and delicious. I had the Scallops and they were great. I recommend the pretzel sundae for desert!"

"While the ambience was lovely and the food, that we were able to eat, was delicious, we had a problem with our main course that should have been dealt with differently. A friend and I ordered the same main entree, the wagyu steak. She ordered hers medium and I ordered mine medium rare. She received mine that was extremely rare and I received hers that was well done. Mine also had ends that were extremely well done. When we told the waitress, she gave us each a free desert. The manager didn't speak w/ us. While it was late and we needed to get home, we didn't want to argue the fact that our entree should have been taken off the bill. As I think back, it has left a question in mind 'do we really need to return in the future'? Don't think so."

"Opted for the fixed price 4 course menu - a good deal with the wine pairings. Every course was excellent, particularly the Barnegat scallops, the portions were appropriately sized and well -timed so you could get through the meal without feeling like you were over-eating. The staff was very attentive and very knowledgeable. Overall a great experience. Perfect for a special occasion."

"The service, facility, and ambience at 90 acres were all wonderful. The appetizers and the drinks were also superb. My girlfriend enjoyed her pizza very much (in my opinion, the crust was a bit soggy), but my wagyu sirloin, which should have been melting in my mouth, was chewy, to say the least. The rest of the night was so nice that it's almost excusable, but I was really looking forward to the steak, and although it was cooked to the right temperature, it had the mouth feel of shoe leather. We will definitely return and give some other menu selections their chance."

"We had heard about 90 Acres for some time and wanted to finally enjoy a nice evening out there for drinks and dinner. My wife and I loved everything about it; the food was amazing, the wait staff was great, the bartenders knew their drinks (very creative drinks). Loved the entire atmosphere of 90 Acres. We booked our dinner two months ago and have already booked our next one to enjoy 90 Acres."

"Ninety Acres is by far our favorite restaurant. We opted for the BMF (Bring Me Food) menu. Very unique and special experience. If you're open to creative dishes, you'll enjoy this. Chef Felton delivered each course with a full description and everything was wonderful. The farm to table feature is obviously paying off as the food looks and tastes fresh. With the BMF menu, you are seated "in the kitchen" so you can observe the inner workings of this professional kitchen. However, our table wasn't ready so they made a spot for us in the private party room just off the kitchen. We weren't able to see the kitchen from that spot which was a disappointment but we got over it quickly. Ninety Acres is beautiful and very special."

"The setting is idyllic and it helped that it was a beautiful spring day. Drinks outside (a fire pit took the chill out of the air) was relaxing and romantic. The menu was varied and interesting with inclusion of local foods and sustainable wines. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and chose a wine for us based on our preferences (typical resaturant menu wines were not on the menu) that was superb.
Can't wait for another special occasion to return."

"Everything was above par for this pricey, yet delicious establishment. The only reason I could not give it 5 stars was their take on a side order of Mac n Cheese. I think someone forgot to add the cheese to the mac! It was bland and tasted like buttered noodles. So very disappointing, especially after tasting the venison and steak we had ordered. All in all a great place, but for a restaraunt that steps outside the box with so many of its dishes, they really swung and missed with the mac n cheese!"

"With all the hype that this restaurant has gotten, I did not feel that it held up to it's expectations. The wine list was superb and the service was unsurpassed. The food, however, was bland and boring. I ordered the sea bass, and all I tasted was butter. I like flavor in my food, perhaps even salt would have helped. My husband ordered the sea scallops, which on the menu stated that it was to be served with ginger (yummy) but to our dismay-- there was only a small sliver on his plate. We were not impressed and left without ordering dessert as well--that never happens!"
"Went there for dinner with my wife. Appetizers were good (Ricotta Cavatelli and Greenhouse Lettuces) and had great expectations for the main meal. Ordered the Roasted Alaskan Halibut and the Roasted Griggstown Chicken. Both dishes were nicely presented and the food was fresh and moist, but unfortunately both dishes were BLAND - no discernable taste. Desperately missing condiments and gravy to bring out the food taste. Disappointed. Also paid $135 for dinner for 2 without wine - expensive and not worth the price. Will not return."

"Everything about our expereince was excellent. The food, we chose the wine pairing with their market menu, was flawless. Their preparation of the seasonal ingredients was sublime. The wine pairings were thoughtful and elevated the meal. The service was friendly and effcient. The property is stunning. It is literally hidden away on the Natirar Estate. So if you think you are lost once you are on the property, have faith, the road will get you there. It is magnificent. Leave extra time to find your way.
Book well in advance. We booked our next reservation upon leaving!"

"Dinner at Ninety Acres was nice; menu had some nice embellishments on each common themese. The Wagyu top sirloin had a nice flavor; the polenta with crispy pork appetizer was also something I haven't seen before.
The sommelier was helpful in findind a wine to split the difference between my steak and my wife's black bass.
Cocktails were quite good, and they had Pappy Van Winkle on the after dinner tipple list - not a common find in these parts.
The restaurant noise level was energetic; it was a Friday night reservation, so that's not entirely a surprise, but if you were looking for a quiet romantic dinner for two - this wasn't it."

"My overall experience was outstanding, but I did feel a little overwhelmed by all the different waiters/servers/bartender/etc. that waited on our table. Having so many different people waiting on one table, at times, becomes confusing. They all did their job well, I guess I would prefer only one or two waiters.
It would also be a good idea to give your clients a hand written note card stating the name of the person or people who are sending complimentary drinks or desserts to the table. This avoids confusion on whether or not the client was informed as to who is paying for their teat, especially if the complimentary item was phoned in.
I will definitely be visiting again."

"This is a must visit for anyone who lives in Northern NJ (or visits Northern NJ)who enjoys a good restaurant and is willing to pay the price. The food was great, the wine selection is good but they only have European wines and I think California wines. No wines from South America. Everyone in my group enjoyed their food tremendously. It can be pricey, but worth it. We were able to hear each other (not noisy); and their service was really great. We went on a Tueday night (group of 7) for a work dinner. If you are not familiar with the area it's easy to get lost. Make sure you investigate how to get there in advance. I'm definitely going back with my husband for a special occasion. Tough to get a reservation"

"We were expecting an elegant ant intimate environment and instead walked in to loud noise (on a Wed evening) and tables too close together. we askes if there was a quieter space and were shown the " communal" table in a separate room with bar stool type tables. we were disappointed in the food and the environment, especially after the winding drive leading to the place. Also, why is their not a negative option in the "noise" option above?"

"My husband and I went with my parents for my mom's 60th birthday, and it was a fabulous night. Ninety Acres is a "special occasion" place for us, and it was truly special. Though we were put off initially by the seemingly overabundant wait staff, it was nice to be spoiled. The food was top notch - prepared to perfect textures throughout and finely balanced flavors. Loved the celeriac and leek soup, poached egg appetizer, mushroom-coated venison entree, and scallops and pork belly entree."

"Amazing plot of land. Cozy inside. Overall the service was good. All three of the house cocktails we ordered were too sweet for our tastes...and each was a drink that should have been refreshing and/or tart, not sweet. Appetizer and mains were light, fresh and delicious, though I was really hoping for a little more creativity in the dishes. They were certainly nothing I couldn't make at home with a little effort. Warm butter cake was an incredible dessert, but the pretzel ice cream sundae was FAR too salty. I'd definitely go back, especially for their special events. I'd just stick to wine to drink and probably skip dessert next time."

"Great food and reasonably priced considering its one of the top rated restaurants in NJ. The drive up to the restaurant is very pretty and the grounds are stunning. "The drive up to the restaurant is absolutely the best. The restaurant is set in the carriage house on the former estate of King Hassan of Morocco. It's an unbelievable drive from the street entrance to the building. Rolling hills, rivers, streams. You name it, It has it and impresses.
First date will assure you a second if you come here.
As far as the food, it's ok. I've had much better in many places. I had the pork chop and it was just ok and it was served almost cold. I complained and they reheated it and it was fine. I really don't remember what my wife had, which is the point. Friends had the "farmers plate" which that night was prime rib. Again it was ok.
Great bar and outside patio and the mixed drinks were fantastic."

"Appetizers were fine. The balsamic marinated mushrooms on polenta were a bit vinegary, but the beet salad with goat cheese was lovely (a fresh, well dressed mix of ingredients with varying textures). The salmon entree was perfectly prepared and a nice portion. The scallop entree was a disappointment. At the price 4 undersized sea scallops seemed a bit short, and the two pork bellies didn't make up for that. The sauces for both entrees were delicate. This place needs to work on its dessert options. Settled for dark chocolate sorbet (which was excellent). The special ice cream sundae was just OK."

"I was lucky to get a reservation after a cancellation and not having to wait the usual 3-4 weeks for an opening. The approach to Ninety Acres by car is really stunning. The restaurant itself is the old carriage-house of the King of Morocco's estate. The restaurant ambiance was nice, but not spectacular. There was a very nice outdoor seating area with large fire-pits where you can go for a drink and some light cuisine. The restaurant acoustics were loud and we were seated VERY close to the other tables (18 inches between tables) so I found listening to their conversations distracting. The wine list was extensive and pricey. The menu was varied, but (at 7:00pm) they were already out of the dish I wanted."

"Our family party of 6 enjoyed a fabulous evening celebrating my wife's birthday with our adult children. Everything about the evening was perfect: drinks before dinner, the table setting, the wait staff, the menus in leather portfolios, the wine list, the food, the taste and ambience of the food, the metropolitan crowd, the rejoicing of family fun at our table, and the rich blessing of the Lord with our time. Koudos to Michael Smythe and his staff who made the evening perfect. We even brought our "Red Plate" to add to the beautiful evening, making the birthday a "You are Special" dining occasion. This was our second time dining at Natirar, and we look forward to a return visit in the warmer weather so we can sit outside. Thank you all."

My son who is a connoisseuer of wines said the wine list was excellent and the sommelier very knowledgeable. The food however was a disappointment and was average at best.
