Chef Geoff's Tysons
Chef Geoff’s newest restaurant is in the heart of Tysons Corner. Our expansive menu is designed to please. Try some of our favorites like Big Shrimp and Very Gouda Grits, the tender Filet Mignon with Warm Bacon Relish, or our handmade Wild Mushroom Ravioli with Truffle Butter. Join us on Sundays for brunch and every Monday for half price wines. Enjoy our ever-popular happy hour daily from 3pm to 7pm and all night on Monday and Tuesday. "Service and food were fantastic! We started with the calamari which was so crispy and delicious. Also the deviled eggs reminded me so much of home. I loved them! I had the Chef Geoff burger which was cooked perfectly and my sweet potato french fries were to die for! My husband had the short ribs which were again a throw back to home cooking. Very flavorful! Our server was attentive and really knew the menu. He was really friendly and fun. We will be back!"

"I asked for a quiet table, instead was seated in the middle of the room. The waitress moved us to the side but the noise was unacceptable. The waiter was also a little too eager to pick up the plates even though not everyone was finished. They really need some noise abatement measures -- carpet? draperies? screens? Something!"

"Steak on the Caeser salad was not properly cooked and had lots of fat and gristle. It was inedible. At least the greens were fine but overdressed as usual. Such a shame as the restaurant is lovely and staff personable and efficient. The food is usually better but there always seem to be details that detract. You have potential but keep missing the mark."

"Another great meal at Chef Geoff's/Tysons. This time it was a birthday lunch for the 3 of us.....had a wonderful waiter, who was professional, personable and remembered each of our birthdays with a special little box of sweets. I believe his name was Christopher. Super all around. The food was excellent and always is......the only hitch that I've ever encountered at CG's is that sometimes the primary wait person is not the one who serves the food, and on some of those occasions, the food has not been super hot. Other than that, CG's is one of my favorite restaurants to go to in the entire area.....for lunch, dinner, brunch and private parties (hosted a brunch for 16 last Dec and they did an outstanding job)."

"My husband and I arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday (per our reservation). I was not happy about being seated at the smallest booth in the whole restaurant. The restaurant was practically empty at the time. Requested a larger booth and my request was reluctantly accommodated.
Our waiter provided excellent service. He was very pleasant and attentive."

"I had been to Chef Geoff's in Rockville, but I wanted to try the one in Tyson's. I was dissapointed that the menu was missing some of my favorite items from Rockville, but at the waiter's recommendation, decided to try the Black Bean burger. I wish I had just gotten a regular burger. Everything else was good though, so I'm sure it's just not for me. My only real complaint was the service. As soon as my boyfriend and I did not order drinks and just ordered sandwiches, we were basically ignored. No bread, not much water, and not much friendliness either. The waiter even walked away while I was talking to him one time. I know the restaurant probably wants people to drop $200 in there, but that doesn't mean I don't deserve service too."

"Dined here for the first time with friends. The menu was interesting and the food was really good; however, the service was terrible. After being seated, we waited 10 min. and a server had not come by our table. My husband had to track down a server from another part of the dining room to see if we could get some drinks. Finally, our server appeared and apologized. Unfortunately, he never seemed too engaged with our table and we felt as though we continually waited to order additional food and drinks. Toward the end of dinner, a manager stopped by to ask how things were. We explained the situation with the service and she kindly comped our desserts. I may go back as I liked the food, but the disappointing service will stick in my mind."

"The truffle popcorn was a great starter. My wife and I both got duck entrees, and they came out very fast and were quite tasty. Definitely more of an upscale place with a very crowded (and loud) bar, which we unfortunately were seated very close to. The menu was definitely unique and lots of things we would try."

We were entertaining a guest and didn't want to complain.It started by being seated in a back room with folding chairs, very cramped and uncomfortable. We could have been fine, but then the food came. Eggs overcooked, frittata was precooked and cold. The service was terrrible, food placed in front of wrong persons etc. Then we received the check which was wrong. This was a total wreck and a ruined time for all."

"Great service but I heard reviews about this place that were mixed about the food. My salad was ok and my husband's soup was very bland. My dinner was the duck confit and it was not very flavorful. My husband's dish was the steak and it was also not very flavorful. The manager did ask about our meal. We were very honest and was very nice. She gave us a gift card for $15.00 and we've decided to give them a chance for brunch."

"A group from work went to celebrate three co-workers birthdays. We were seated in the middle of the main dining room and boy is it loud there. I believe due to the ceiling details, the noise gets pushed to the center of the room...it made it hard to talk to anyone other than the person immediately next to you. Our waiter was good, but the assistant staff was not. They barely asked if you were done with food before grabbing it off the table and took forever to bring a replacement drink when mine had "extras" in it (actually our waiter finally noticed and brought it over). The food was ok but probably not worth the price. My salad in particular was awful and had zero taste. I was disappointed that the staff didn't ask why most of it was left."

"I once said I would never go back to Chef Geoff, but my friend wanted to go for his Birthday.
It started with the butter having sugar mixed in. My shell fish in linguini was not good and I was not given a bowl for my shells. I had to use my bread plate along with the bread. I had to ask for parmesan cheese. My friend had a steak that was cold and stringy.(He didn't tell me until after we left.) Some restaurants put a candle in the dessert, they did not, even though they knew it was a celebration. I had wanted to treat my friend to dinner and I honestly felt taken. It was not worth the expense.
P.S. I love the convenience of Open Table."

"although i've been there many times i had never been for brunch. it was a great menu, loved the grapefruit mimosas. However I was there with a friend and they put us in the loud "family" room. a little hard to talk over the noise"

"Visite for lunch, very nice and quiet for a business meeting. I eat there regularly but have to say that the Salmon BLT was a disappointment. I did not care for the texture of the salmon, kind of minced into a cake. Everything else was very good, as usual."

"I was disappointed that the round table requested and confirmed for a Sunday brunch celebration for our party of 5 was not provided. This restaurant is very noisy making it hard to converse. A 'special' birthday treat for our guest was provided. Service was very slow, seemingly a problem with the kitchen, as our server was competent. I would not return again for a special occasion meal, although the menu is diverse and offers good value."

"We frequent Chef Geoff's Tysons and everything was great as usual. We started with the popcorn shrimp and had the Mushroom Raviolis and Fish Tacos. Very flavorful. We also had dessert which was the perfect portion and delicious.
We had an exceptionally good waiter this time. His name was Jefferey and he was very nice, attentive and helpful.
Looking forward to the spring menu!"

"Food was excellent as always. Service was really bad. Our server though very nice, was not at all attentive. He only checked on us once after we ordered then he was bringing our check before he offered dessert. We asked about him dessert.
We had to ask the food runners for water, we each only had one cocktail because there was no way to orde a second. We had to ask for flatware after ours was pulled with the first course. We sat with food in front of us for a while waiting to eat. That is when he actually stopped and asked if everything was ok. We told him we needed flatware. He forgot it but the food runner brought it."

"The highlight of our meal was the appetizer course, tuna sashimi and fried calamari, which came out of the kitchen in less than five minutes. Our entrees were a little disappointing. I had the special, a veal chop, that was cooked perfectly, but was boring. Thank goodness it had the tomato/caper compote. Dwight had the blackened salmon, which sounded wonderful in the description, but was blah too. I had the lemon cake for dessert. The huckleberry sauce was wonderfully tart and flavorful, but the cake itself was hard and dry. We have eaten at the Chef Geoff's in the District and thought it was fantastic. Nothing this visit was remarkable. The space is pretty and we had a nice dinner, but there are better choices."

"Service was terrible. Waitress was extremely slow to do anything; drinks order, bread.... Last night we were at Capital Grille and the contrast in service is extreme. In addition, I noted when I made the reservation that it was my wife's birthday and that was never acknowledged."

"Our perennial favorite for brunch. Husband is a huge fan of any place that does Chicken & Waffles, but Chef Geoff's is definitely the best we've found. Brunch seems pricey, until you realize it includes mimosas, coffee, breakfast breads (that are totally noms!)juice, fresh fruit (papaya, mango, pineapple, kiwi....not your standard chunks of melon and grapes), any entree on the brunch menu and dessert (I think....I've been so full after all of that the past few times I didn't even want to THINK about dessert). Easy to get to in Tysons...which is saying something since that place is a mess with all the construction. Its in the same building as Tiffany's - turn left one light before Google Maps tells you to."
