"Food was decent...though I do not appreciate that if the server made a point to get my name "to make sure you get credit (w/ Open Table)....and then didn't follow-thru....Plus, the service was "just" fair/decent: there was no interactions, no asking if we wanted more drinks (except once stating, "You're ok with those drinks"...which is not an INVITING way of asking). Felt like he was "just doing his job". Food was not great enough to come back due to barely-so-so service when SF has soooo many more options. Too bad 'cause drinks, ambience of room and noise level was good."

"I found this place through dine about town. A gem in the heart of the FIDI/financial district. Upon walking in our party of two was greeted and seated within two minutes although we arrived nearly 10 minutes early. From the raw oysters with sparkling rose' to the end of a fabulous meal."

We went there during Dine About Town, all the food on the 3 course meal were tasty!
I appreciated the delicate seasoning for fish ( tuna and trout) since so many restaurants use too much salt.

"I confess: I didn't really do my homework before making reservations at Georges. Based on the name and Open Table description, I was expecting French-inspired seafood; however, the menu was much more Italian than French. Bottom line: The food, service, and experience were great, so it worked out just fine."

"The food was incredibly salty. We sent our asparagus back and the table next to us sent their seafood back. The gnocchi were very tasty but bathed in oil. The almonds that came with the trout were also saturated with oil. The salt and the oil were simply unnecessary as the quality of the produce and seafood were probably excellent."

"4 of us had dinner Saturday night--first time at Georges. We were delighted. First, when making the reservation I asked for as quiet a table as they had so we could talk, catching up with our friends. They clearly honored that request. Second, the service was outstanding. The waiter knew the menu and answered all the questions he got clearly and accurately. Third, the food was outstanding. We all like seafood--two had the tuna which they raved about, I had the scallops and the other entree was one of the pasta/seafood dishes. We felt unhurried and just thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Oh--the asparagus appetizer was the best!"

"The food and the decor of the place is delightful. A hip trendy feel to the place, it's sports a nice open dining room. A little loud given the hard surfaces but on the flip side that infuses an energy to the place. The Octopus Bolognese is first rate. Affordable and the portions are sizable and sharable. I would try your dishes family style."

"I went here for lunch with a colleague and was wonderfully surprised at how good the food was -- we split the ceviche appetizer, I had the trout with spinach and mashed potatoes, and my friend had the spiced tuna. EVERYTHING was cooked to perfection. Dessert was a great experience - we had the panna cotta and the chocolate, pistachio. The waitstaff was attentive and all seemed to be happy to be there. A great experience all around."

"Two girlfriends and I had lunch there this week and we were all extremely pleased with the service and the food. Georges seems to be our 'go to' restaurant when we are able to get away from the office for a nice lunch. They offer a 'seasonal' salad - this one had poached shrimp, peas, thinly sliced carrots and a delicious light dressing. The following date I was thinking I would give almost anything to have someone deliver me that same salad. Definitely would recommend Georges as a place to go for lunch. I haven't been there for dinner, but will definitely try that out next time I am staying in SF after work."

"Thanks for the 1000 point seating! We needed a reservation somewhere, when our pre-event plans afforded us an unexpected date opportunity. The points caught our attention, but the diner reviews looked encouraging.
Easy street paring, since this is located in the Financial District (weekend evening). We were seated promptly (early reservation). Server was efficient and polite. Crab cakes were excellent, as was were my day boat scallops, and tuna over a chick pea patty was tasty. No time for dessert, next time.
We'll come back and spend more time."

I'm not sure the combo was ideal, but the tsatzidi went well w/ the pancake if not the tuna. Husband had little gem caesar w/ bocarone & the pulled pork pizza. Tasty salad and outstanding pizza! Early meal for us. Crow thinned out after 6:30pm. Nice & quiet & good for conversation a that point. Restaurant has always delivered consistently excellent service and good quality food. "We decided to sit at the bar instead of a table, and it was a lot of fun, interacting with the great bartender (sadly i have forgotten her name, but she worked on Wednesday 3/20.) She made the most delicious and very creative mock-tails for my friend, was very engaging, and just fun! she also gave incredible recommendations for our meal; we tried a lot of different things, all family style.
The dishes were very good, beautifully displayed, perfectly prepared fresh ingredients, paired in interesting flavor and texture combination that all worked well. Since we were doing everything family style, they timed the dishes very well. It was a great place to catch up with an dear friend, and the bartender and food made it even more wonderful"

"Went on a business lunch and our waiter was fabulous, friendly and very helpful in our selection. Always nice to have good humor in a packed house, the service was more responsive than others that are less crowded! My trout entree was perfectly seasoned, tastefully presented, and the mashed potatoes were YUM YUM.
I highly recommend this place for lunch/dinner/etc. The decor is modern, sleek and the noise level is definitely city-like and lively. But I like the buzz of a good/SUCCESSFUL business downtown."

"We happened upon Georges after a reservation mix-up elsewhere and couldn't have been more pleased! Relaxed and unpretentious, excellent raw bar and fish prepared to perfection - our guests from Chicago were impressed.
Best feature - the dishes were balanced, with no heavy hand, allowing the main ingredient to shine through.
Biggest surprise - our server (also the bartender) brought us several samplers once he sensed what our wine tastes were, and we found some new favorites.
Why we'll be back - one of our party arrived late and was famished. Even with a full house, our server had her plate on the table in 8 minutes. That's Service!"

"Great food. We opted to split a number of appetizers rather than have a full meal which gave us the chance to explore more of the menu. The ceviche, marinated beet salad, the pork belly, etc. was amazing. Service was top notch also. The host was very friendly and open and our waitress was very attentive. Since we ordered appetizers, she kept coming back to check on us and give us clean plates as more appetizers came out. Will definitely be back again."

"Came here with my brother and father. We all enjoyed our dinners and wine. The guys got the trout while I got the tuna. I also got a cup of the cioppino, which was substantial. All the seafood was very fresh and nicely prepared. The service was outstanding. I do not live in SF but would return to this restaurant if I am back again in the city."
