Jasper's - Plano
Jasper's is a comfortably upscale restaurant, which features a menu focused on the best of America's regional cuisine, including rotisserie chicken, fish, steaks, salads, and pizza. "Jasper's serves the type of food you'd get at my house if I were cooking" says Executive Chef Kent Rathbun. "We want this to be a place where diners can visit whether they're looking for an inexpensive light meal or a higher-end dining experience-we've got it all". The casual design with a "modern outdoors" theme makes Jasper's the perfect place for any occasion. Chef Rathbun is a nationally recognized chef, who defeated Bobby Flay on Iron Chef America. He has also appeared on The Early Show, The Today Show, The Rosie O'Donnell Show and Ready, Set, Cook to name a few. Chef Rathbun has Abacus Restaurant in Dallas and Jasper's in Austin and The Woodlands.

"Jasper's continues to be one of the really excellent dining experiences in Plano. Chic, sophisticated setting, good service and a creative menu keep this restaurant a place both for special occasions and a welcome change of pace from the ubiquitous "theme restaurants." We were welcomed by the valet staff as well as the servers. Food was beautifully prepared and presented. Despite being a super-busy Mother's Day brunch, we never felt rushed. Just across the street from Jasper's is a beautiful little lake fronting the Marriott where dozens of families were strolling and taking pictures. At night, Jaspers OOZES romance!"

"I have eaten a lot of ribs over the years and smoked a lot of meat myself. The ribs at Jaspers are by far the best I have ever had. The said they are in the top 3 in the U.S. That made me want to try them. They are unbelievable."

"I had eaten at Jasper's for lunch a few months ago & was very impressed with the food. This dinner visit was disappointing. While the soup was wonderful, the onion ring on the salad was limp. My trout was a little greasy & under seasoned. My husband's prime rib was reported to be "ok" , his potatoes were undercooked.
All in all, for the price, this was a disappointing visit. I doubt we will return."

"The nosiest restaurant I have ever been in. I could only hear about 10% of what our waitress had to say. They charge for bread and the bread was cold and stale like it had been reheated more than once. The ribs were the worst in recent memory and the BBQ sauce tasted like a generic brand from the grocery store. The vegetables were cold by the time they reached our table. We were really disappointed because we had out-of-town guests and we promised them a good meal. We could have found better food at Cracker Barrel. I can't imagine ever going there again. I really felt like I had been ripped off. The only good thing was our waitress and her descriptions of the desserts."

"We were there on a Friday night with a 6:45 reservation. Appetzer (Shrimp and Grits) was fabulous. Salads and steaks were great as well. It just took a very long time to get our meals. In fact, the table next to us celared twice while we were ther and we didn't sit around talking (but did have desert). It was 9:30 when we left the restaurant.
Great food and experience, we were just there much longer than we expected."

"We've been to Jasper's several times and it is a solid meal. The crab cake is one of the better ones I've eaten, the soups have good flavor and surprisingly, their pasta was pretty good. Out of the desserts, the "toast" was my favorite, followed by the ice cream sandwich (the bread pudding was our least favorite). You can tell that their service has improved and they are working hard at it. Kudos!"

"Reservation made through Open Table. Seated at the worst table in the entire place-2 top booth located between the waiting lounge area and the bar. You would think when a 60 yr old couple arrived, partially overdressed it would be assumed our tab would be much more than 20 somethings who also eat here and would have been seated in a better spot. After asking for a better table, seated near the back. Excellent service from Mike. If I eat here again I will always ask for Mike. He didn't hover over us trying to rush us through our meal so he could flip the table. I had the tuna special (so so). My date had the flat iron steak. Just ok- better flat iron at NHS."

"I emailed and was told that they could accommodate gluten-free. I even stated that on the reservation. The waitress, Cheryl, had NO clue. Then a man came by and said to order anything. The kitchen would make changes. I ordered steak and eggs, but it came without any substitution for the biscuit (half the dish). When the dessert arrived, the waitress said I could have the cheesecake since graham is gluten-free. I knew better. After I asked for a substitution, she brought me five berries and a nasty look. I won't go back!"

"Saturday's brunch menu provided a range of choices. The server was knowledgeable about the food and could make suggestions. The restaurant appeared to have ample staff, even though there was a birthday party for 50 in one of the private rooms. We were checked on often and the dining experience was very pleasant. My dessert was presented with a candle in it and I was wished a happy birthday by many members of the staff. This was done in a quiet and pleasant manner and not presented with a lot of fanfare, which I personally find embarrassing.
My only negative point would be that when first being seated, the hostess offered us a table right next to a table with small children. We are definitely seniors and would prefer a quieter seating area"

"Crab cake too salty, but small dressing salad with tortilla chips on the side was delicious. Sea bass is a bit over cooked. Priscilla's “Sink” Salad was so so. $5 of basket of homemade breads is not worth it."

"We are long time patrons of Jaspers, but had not been in a year or two. I was surprised to see some negative reviews as we had loved the place. So we went to check it out. Service was almost TOO good, to the annoying level. The waiter was over the top talkative, checking on our food, etc.
The one issue we had was some bad wine. The first glass smelled funny and tasted terrible. So I sent it back. The waiter said it was a "wrong pour" and brought me a new glass of what he said I ordered. The smell and taste was identical. To his credit he then bought me a glass of Pinot that was fine. But the whole episode was a bit unsettling.
Food delish as always! We will be back"

"Service was poor. They brought us a alcoholic drink meant for another table. (we didn't even order any alcohol drinks, just tea and water. They gave our appetizers to another table and had to fix another set for us.
This is the second time recently I have been that service was below par."
