"The duck cassoulet and filet mignon with farro was very good. The mushroom and gnocchi appetizer was a little too salty. Overall, we always enjoy dining at this restaurant."

"We went for the Wednesday special, as we have often done in the past. The lamb shank was well-prepared though I might have omitted the smoking step as I thought maybe that overwhelmed the rosemary. The polenta and other accompaniments were excellent though, and the wine accompaniment superb. Service, as always, excellent."

"While the appetizers were delicious, and the menu creative, the server seriously oversold some of the dishes which were fine but nothing special, and did not"blow our minds". Noise probably not normally that bad, there was a huge party that night."

"My friend and I really loved this place. We chose to sit at the bar rather than a table and it was fun people watching. We had several requests; one that included "please very little salt" and they honored it gladly. We had great wine and our salmon with turnip puree was delicious. I will be back soon to try out all of thei other delicious looking entrees. Great service as well."

"Consistently excellent food. Service impeccable. Go there any night, but the Wednesday night entree and pairing is a STEAL. Can't recommend this place more. It's become a happy habit!"

"The portions are very small but delicious. The entree salads are appetizer size but entree priced. Luckily, I opted to add salmon (additonal cost of course)to the arugla salad or it definitely wouldn't have been enough food...and I'm not a big eater."

"When we arrived the restaurant was packed, but we were seated immediately at our reservation time. The service was very prompt and attentive. My husband wanted to try the boar meatloaf but they were sold out. The food was very tasty and well prepared. I recommend the burrata with roasted tomato and shrimp cazuela appetizers. We had the filet mignon (prepared perfectly) and the branzino with sunchokes. Both were delicious. You have to order the white chocolate croissant bread pudding. I'm not a huge white chocolate fan, but this was fantastic! Our orders came out quickly, but weren't rushed. They have a good wine list with many local and international options. It's a bit noisy but not to the point where you cannot hear one another."

"Food is very good. Not for foodies, it seems more like gastronomic portions. So if you are very hungry you might have to take an appetizer, an entree and a dessert to feel full! Prices are a bit expensive but it's worth it! The drawback of this restaurant is it's very noisy! The service is very attentive. We would recommend it."

"Wednesday nights take on a new meaning with Green Street Tavern's special deal. Consistently excellent food. The seared himachi this week was incredible and the wine pairing really hit the spot."

"Wonderful staff, zany atmosphere. Too noisy for us, but maybe better in the front room. Great food, although suggest not orderin tomatoes until they are really in season. Also, cassoulet is made each day rather than the authentic ongoing cooking. Shrimp appetizer and fillet mignon were perfect!"

"Food and service were excellent. Only complaint is that the noise was unbelievably LOUD!!! One large group was especially talkative and spirited. On weekends it's probably better to sit in the smaller room as you enter instead if the larger one in the back since tables are smaller. Our host warned us, but we didn't listen."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our experience! Being from the So Bay, we were running late. They not only held our table; the staff was most attentive to our situation (we had Pasadena Playhouse tickets).
We never felt rushed, our food from soups\salads to entrees were creatively prepared and most excellent! We are "foodies" and cannot wait to return to Green St Tavern!"

"The service was incredible and the food was great. The shrimp appetizer was particularly delicious. The filet mignon was petite, in keeping with the fair price, but was unduly bland. Some simple salt and pepper would have helped. But this did not detract from a great experience. Will be going there again and again."

"Food was very delicious however, we felt the prices were high for the size of portions they serve. Not a great value. They were rated with $$ (Moderate) but we felt it was more $$$. Probably won't come back because there are too many great restaraunts that are more reasonably priced."

"We really like this restaurant the food is very good and moderately priced. The menu is limited, to about six entrees, but you should find something you really like. Beware, the front room on the bar is small and very loud. The side room is much much larger and better if you don't care for a high level of noise. However during the week it doesn't fill many tables and feels empty, but it is much quiter."

"Noise level detracted from overall experience. Menu is certainly distinct and some might find it hard to find something on the menu they would feel safe selecting. A few more "standard" salads or entrees would have been welcome. However, my husband really liked his choices-- the asparagus soup and boar meatloaf, while I loved the shrimp garlic butter appetizer."

"This place was packed and uncomfortable, but there's a reason for that. The place has an innovative menu of perfectly prepared dishes, and the wait staff is fantastic. We had a show we needed to get to, and they wasted no time getting us in and out of there while still making sure we had a great meal and a great experience."

"My husband and I really enjoyed our starter and salad, but should have left it there. The menu felt very promising yet the entree (special for the night) was not good - presentation and flavor. Creme Brulee was burnt and underwhelming."

"This is both mine and my wife's favorite restaurant! The food is amazing and the service is just as good. The wait staff is knowledgable and sociable. Also most nights the manager will be around the restaurant busing tables and talking to customers. This restaurant is not just a place to eat its an experience."

"We arrived a couple minutes after our 8pm reservation time, and waited in the crowded front area for almost 10 minutes to even check in (there was no hostess on duty). We weren't even seated until 8:30, and were hardly updated the whole half hour we were waiting. I thought we would be offered a glass of wine or an appetizer on the house, but we barely got an apology.
The calamari appetizer was excellent- the jalepeno sauce in particular was delicious. I had the scallops- there was a little bit of grit, but the salad and corn puree that it came with were very good. My husband had the boar meatloaf- it was good, but too barbeque-y flavored for my taste."

"Green Street Tavern is a nice little spot in Pasadena with some bold flavors. We enjoyed being seated promptly and were given detailed answers to the questions we had about the menu. We started off with the pig ear salad. We requested goat cheese instead of gorgonzola, which was granted, and made for a delicious start to the meal. Then we shared a rack of lamb which was delectable and cooked to a nice medium rare (without even being asked for) and the lobster risotto (replaced the lobster ravioli). All in all it was a divine meal and great atmosphere. Parking can be found in the lot around the corner, 90 minutes free."
