"My husband and I enjoyed dinner before going to a play downtown. The clam chowder was superb as were the fresh oysters. I had the halibut special which was cooked perfectly. My husband had the crab cakes and claimed they were the best he's ever tasted. Service was smooth and efficient. We shared with our server that we had tickets to a play and needed to leave the restaurant at a certain time. She was most accommodating. Service was not rushed but timed perfectly and we were out of the restaurant in plenty of time to make it to our play. This is one of our favorite restaurants!"

"We have dined at Blue Point several times over the years but always in the evening. This visit on Mother's Day was during the afternoon and the restaurant was not as busy as weekend evenings but that didn't take away from the service or the food. Both were up to their usual excellent standards. Our two kids (17 and 20) were with us and they enjoyed the experience and their meals."

"All of the Hospitality Group restaurants have consistently good food and service but Blue Point Grille seems to stand out as the finest.
The seafood preparations are perfect and beautifully complimented. The tomato bisque is wonderful and the mixed green salad has a lovely vinaigrette, although a little over-dressed. The chocolate quintet dessert is heaven. The manager , hosts, and waitress provided excellent service!"

"My husband and I celebrated out wedding anniversary at Blue point and it was an overall great experience! The staff was very friendly and made great food and drink recommendations. "As always the food was fantastic and the service was top notch. Not a fan of the half booth half table seating. You are seating too close to people that you do not know and it gives you no privacy especially when it is just two. Wanted to have a quiet dinner with my husband and instead we were put next to a table of four which we were so close to that we couldn't hear our own discussion."

"My wife and I went for our 20th anniversary this past Wednesday. Was impressed that the place was full on a Wed. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Food was excellent. Wife had a filet that was cooked perfectly. I had shrimp and lobster (with terrific lobster mashed) and it was also excellent. Had two drinks which were pricey but worth it.
Made a reservation on Opentable and noted that it was our anniversary. They not only gave us the best table in the front corner (table 11, surrounded by windows with a nice view of the 2 building skyline) but also delivered a complimentary and tasty creme brulee' without me saying a word.
That kind of service is what you expect from a place this and is exactly what we got.
Highly recommend!"

"I planned a two day trip to Cleveland from Minnesota for my wife's 60th birthday. The Playhouse, Ohio Theater, to see Boney James. Blue Point Grille and Johnny's Restaurant for the two nights staying downtown. My wife is a foodie. She was so excited after seeing the reviews and the inside of the restaurant online. Well, we didn't need to make a reservation. The host didn't listen when we came in and gave him our name. He picked up menus and away we went to the bar. We were dressed up and most of the people in the bar were casual. Then, he said you have a nice view here. View of the street??? Our service was good and so was the food. But, not the special evening I had planned."

"My recent dinner at Blue Pointe Grille was excellent. The server had a neat appearance, and was friendly, well-trained and knowledgeable without being condescending. Food was delivered to our table in a timely and professional manner and dishes were cleared promptly. The oysters were outstanding and the entrees were well prepared and flavorful. This is a great place to go if you appreciate fine food and great service. Expect that your bill will reflective of the downtown area fine dining establishments and the atmosphere and quality that is provided. This is not like going to Red Lobster."

"My wife and I got there a little early and had a drink at the bar. We had some special drinks off the bar menu and they were awesome! Everything was exceptional except for the crab risotto which was dull and not creamy at all. The manager came over and I told him about it and he "took care of it". You have to have the szechuan string beans....I could have just eaten that they are so good."

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. My husband's steak was so tender it melted in his mouth like butter and my lobster bolognese was perfection! P.S. "First time at BPG. Very friendly and professional staff. Good menu and very nice wine list. Wine list ~2x retail, but not at all suprising for upper scale on premise list. Still hurts to pay that much above retail, but certainly not out of the ordinary. Food was very well done. Wife & I had swordfish special and was presented very well and cook perfectly. Staff even blackened her swordfish on request without any issue. Only minor observation was the Ceasar Salad. Not sure what it was...but not very exciting...kinda average. Other than that very good meal and experience overall. Would go again."

"Our party of five had a variety of seafood, all of which was excellent. One person had the Amish chicken which was a little dry. The wine served was excellent. "Excellent food and service. Beautiful plating and a spacious environment. Our server Kim is IMHO one of the best in the city. She was friendly but professional, attentive and in tune with what matters to us. The tuna appetizer was outstanding. The salmon was excellent as was the first of the season halibut.
Will definitely recommend to friends."

"We went for our anniversary and it was awesome. Went to Cleveland for the rock hall of fame and wanted to know where was the best fine dining seafood and was told the blue point. Was not disappointed, my wife and i loved the experience!"

"Haven't been here in about 5 years 2 bad experiences food was not that good. Decided to try it again, they really have turned things around. Had a drink at bar was acknowledged right away very friendly and professional.
Requested a booth on open table and pleasantly surprised they said our booth would be ready momentarily so they really paid attention and wanted to please us. The oysters were to die for, our meal o e steak one fish was perfectly prepared the food was hot not over seasoned we had an awesome experience and will definitely be returning soon.

"This used to be our favorite seafood destination. It was pricey but well worth it. Don't think we ever had a bad experience. Until our last visit. Greasy, bland calamari appetizer followed by beef jerky like steak entree (was supposed to be medium), baked lobster tails that were actually cold in the middle, overcooked shrimp that was tough and chewy, mashed potatoes that were barely room temperature, and sticky. On a good note, the scallops were perfect."

"I was expecting a bit more from the reviews/recommendations. I will have to say that the waiter did go out of his way to ensure that we were pleased with our meals. the portions are a bit scarce. We had reservations and were seated at the first table by the door. The traffic in/out was a bit bothersome, though entertaining...lol. The draft from outdoors was a bit of a inconvenience. Undecided if we will return.."

"Blue Point is a very nice looking restaurant and bar.
The demeanor of the two women sharing the hostess and coat check duties was chilly at best - not friendly or welcoming at all. The waitress was very nice and generally attentive as were the other servers.
My strip steak, which I prefer well done, was good but not great. Potatoes and side dishes were very good as was my wife's dish of grouper.
We were on the second level and the noise level was quite loud.
The valet didn't indicate there was an $8 charge for the valet until after I had tipped him and I was getting in the car ready to pull away."

"I loved the atmosphere and the service, but was not impressed with the food. It was okay, nothing to rave about to others. It's a little overrated. We asked the waiter for the best dish on the menu and he recommended the grouper. It was a fried piece of fish with not a whole lot of flavor. I think I would have been better off ordering a steak. I just think there are so many better restaurants in Cleveland."
