"Otherwise would be a prefect day to brunch. First of all, waited a long time for wait staff to serve us. We has to ask where is the waiter. Food was good. Then when I got home and found out the person who checked us sent us a no show notification from opentable. It was annoying."

"Another great meal in two weeks!! We had the duck, salmon and bass - great portions and great choices! The cappuccino was terrific as was the cobbler. The bibb lettuce salad terrific again!! And they served the wine in beautiful glasses - thin and large! This happens when you purchase wine by the bottle rather than by the glass! I highly recommend buying a bottle as the glasses enhance the experience!"

"On Saturday evening three friends and I met for dinner at Brasserie Jo for dinner before heading to a Boston Pops concert. Our dining experience was great. The food was very good, and the waiters were attentive and made sure we were finished dining with ample time to reach the concert. The atmosphere there is quite lovely, and I would recommend this restaurant."

"We celebrated our thirteenth anniversary by dining at Brasserie Jo and going on to the Boston Pops. The food was delicious, service was good with a good selection of wines. I would recommend it for any special occasion."

"Stopped at Brasserie Jo quite late on a rainy Monday night for an after-concert supper. It was excellent. The food was well-prepared and the service more than excellent, even though there were few people in the restaurant. The onion soup is out of this world and perfect for a rainy night. I ordered a second appetizer--sweetbreads--which were excellent, though the chopped tomatoes they were served with conflicted a little. But you didn't have to eat them. My dinner companion had the short ribs and thought they were wonderful. The baguettes that come with every meal are delicious too. There aren't too many first-class restaurants whose kitchens are open after 10:00. This was a great choice."

"One thing you know when you go to Brasserie Jo's, you will get a great meal. Been there for dinner, for restaurant week lunch, and now for brunch and always get a great meal, ample portions, and decent prices. Omelettes were terrific, service was solid, all good!"

"Our night here was a little slice of France. Lavender cocktail, white asparagus pea tendril salad with poached egg, smoked salmon stuffed with horseradish creme, and the Floating Island dessert with a cappuccino of course. "Food was outstanding - when I am able to RAVE about a simple salad with a lovely lemon vinaigrette dressing and light leaf lettuce and the bread --this is pretty amazing!! The salmon was great as were the profiteroles. Wine selection was terrific. And to top all of this off - our server was attentive without being too present. He was one of the best waiters we have ever had. Thanks so much - Brasserie Jo!"

"We were in town to celebrate our daughter's graduation and the restaurant honored my request for a round table. The staff was friendly and efficient and our waiter was very pleasant and accommodating. The menu had plenty of options and the food and wine were delicious. "The wait staff as well as the ambiance was perfect for a calm and romantic late breakfast with my wife. I can not vouch for the night-life scene, but before 11am this place has it down-pat! Great music and service...very clean facilities...but most of all the french toast and coffee were great. We will definitely be back during our next trip to Boston."

"Dining before theatre is always daunting. We arrived at the restaurant in a downpour. The valet greeted us with an umbrella and ushered us right inside the door. The attentive staff immediately filled water glasses and presented a warm, crusty baguette and seasoned carrots. Our waiter helped us to select a great wine as well as our dinner choices. The cauliflower stir fry is served with a garlicky yogurt dressing and it is delicious. Beet salad and onion soup gratinee were well prepared. Coq au vin is the best in Boston. Duck l'orange was crispy on the outside and very tender meat. My husband thought the scallops were perfect. Portion sizes are very generous, but with food this delicious, there is no question about taking home a treat!"

"We went pre symphony. Felt as if we were in a French bistro in Paris. While bread and water came immediately it took 15 minutes for our server to show. The French onion soup was excellent! We each ordered mussels and pommes frites. They exceeded anything we have had on numerous trips to Europe. Nice assortment of domestic and French wines by the glass. Through out the meal the waiter would show up and then disappear for long periods of time. We'd go again but would leave much more time."

"Romantic setting like a trip to a Paris neighborhood restaurant. Conversation flowed and there was enough space between tables so you could actually hear what your companion said. French and Alsacian menu plus regional seasonal specialites were interesting and well executed. Our scallops with fiddlehead fern appetizer was outstanding. "I wanted to take my mom out for dinner for her first trip to Boston. She was staying near the Pru and wanted something "classy with good fish options." We decided on Brasserie-Jo due to its location and its pricing. I was also able to get a restaurant.com certiciat which sealed the deal.

Although the food was good, I have had much better for better prices. On top of that the service was horrible - I shouldn't have to wait 5 minutes for you to refill my water especially considering it had been empty for a few minutes before I flagged down my server. On top of that, our drink order was messed up. Even with my $25 gift card it was not worth it. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING"

"We enjoyed an upbeat brunch on Mother's Day. The atmosphere was relaxed, set off by a live jazz band that was very good. The buffet was nicely presented and had a wonderful charcuterie selection, fresh fruit, pastry, salads, and a multitude of hot dishes; we especially enjoyed the braised pork shanks, the eggs benedict, the omelet station and the chocolate flourless cake. All the moms were given a small hydrangea plant; a nice touch. Service was knowledgeable and attentive. Unfortunately, it was too cold to sit outside on their patio. The one con: it was pricey like many of the better restaurants in Boston. We hope management is mindful of their customer's wallets...."

"Food had been sitting out on buffet all day and lost its flavor and visual appeal. Maitre'd was extremely rude in handling a special request. He embarrassed us in front of other patrons. The menu limitations for Mother's Day were not properly disclosed. Had we known of the buffet, we never would have booked the reservation. Shocked by the unprofessional maitre'd and will never return. Brasserie Jo is a "must avoid.""

"had a mother's day open-buffet brunch with our toddler there last sunday. great food(the pastries are very successful), very good service(though since this was get-your-own-food-open-buffet type of setup for mother's day, so i can't say too much for a full scale, regular dining experience based on this visit).

"My husband and I have visited Brasserie JO fairly regularly over a number of years. The menu is terrific, atmosphere very pleasant, and - usually - the service is attentive without over doing it. On Mother's Day, we enjoyed our food, but the service was slow and our waiter was difficult to find. We waited more than 20 minutes before our server came to the table to take our cocktail orders; then the service was acceptable through the meal. But then we sat quite a while after finishing our entrees, and consequently decided to leave without coffee or dessert. Usually the service is excellent, so we were very surprised and disappointed. We would still recommend Brasserie JO, but with reservation."

"The only thing it was as if our server "checked out" at a certain point. He stood near our table but never turned so we could get his attention after the bill was paid. I was disappointed every Mother around us got their Mother's Day flowers, but not my wife. Luckily she didn't care, but it would've been nice to get the same service as everyone else. As I said our server "checked out" so we also had to wait a few minutes to catch the hostess and get her to give the Valet our ticket. Given that we were visiting from out of state I truly expected more. The kitchen did a great job with the buffet, the food was great."

"We were there for a late bunch----it was SO good!

Chocolate french toast: The children's menu was very limited (though I was surprised there was a kids menu at all) so my 6 y.o. ordered the chocolate french toast off the regular menu. It was chocolate stuffed and drizzled with chocolate sauce. As soon as the plate was put in front of her she licked it--not so good for manners but the waiter said he would have done the same thing :)

Open faced ham, egg, cheese crepe: Perfectly, perfectly cooked. Absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend.

Also nice if you have kids: They give out crayons and the tables are covered with white paper so it is a giant coloring pad. The staff was SO friendly with my daughter."

"With the entire experience, I probably would not go back. There was nothing awful about the visit. But with price and everything included was just not for me. The place was slow on this Sunday but the waiter was kind of pushy. After he kind of got the hint that i might need to get my drink before i was going to order dinner, he was hard to find. The food was ok. But for the price and everything included id say ive probably seen this resturant for the last time."

"This is a fine brasserie experience in Boston. I think it compares favorably, and is much more affordable than Balthazar's Brasserie in New York. The country pate set the right tone; the white bean/sausage soup was great; and the profiteroles? Luxurious."

"Well, this was a night out in Boston after the horrific events of the Boston Marathon for my husband's birthday. The atmosphere felt as though we were in a small bistro in Paris. We had a beautiful table on the street enjoying the people strolling by on a beautiful night. We both had the French Onion soup, DELISH. Don had the Steak Frite and I had the Duck a la Orange! There was nothing left on our plates! Our waiter was wonderfully attentive without being on top of us...WONDERFUL experience...we will be back."

"Brasserie Jo is one of few decent restaurants a fairly easy walking distance from Symphony Hall, none of them outstanding. It's convenience before concerts and the fact that its food is tolerable make it a useful option."

"Service was great, our waiter, Ali, was patient answering all of our questions. He and all the waiters working with him had us smiling throughout our meal. Our meal was delicious, starting with the warm baguette and butter and carrots and ending with profiteroles. In between that, the Croque madame was one of the best I've had. The salmon crepe was light and generously filled with salmon and the Jo burger was a meat-lover's dream. I would definitely recommend and we will be back!"

"We arrived a little late for our res, yet still were welcomed very graciously, and allowed our choice of table. The coq au vin rivals that which I've had in New York or Paris, delicious as always. The service may have been a tad slower than usual, but our waiter apologized and we were not concerned; we could see that a great influx came in after the Symphony matinee ended at an unusual time. From our perspective the food and service were perfect, and this was just days after the tragedy on Patriot's Day. Brasserie Jo truly is a local gem! (I wish we had one near our home on North Shore.)"

"The coq au vin I had was delicious! Fellow diners had a salad Nicoise that looked delicious and the chicken pailland that was looked and reported to be quite bland.

Unfortunately however, our service was very slow throughout dinner. Our waiter was pleasant enough but it took a very long time for him to take our order, bring our wine, check on us and get our check, even when we told him we had theater tickets.

In addition, this is a noisy restaurant!"
