Consistent, creative, high quality dining & seamlessly orchestrated service has been the hallmark of Savona's success for over 12 years. Executive Chef, Andrew Masciangelo uses his 12 year relationship with local farmers to source the freshest ingredients available. His "farm to table" philosophy involves handling products as few times as possible to capture the natural flavor intensity of each ingredient. Signature dishes include Dover Sole with Capri Lemon & Pignoli, Salt Crusted Branzino and Shrimp & Scallop "Borsette". Masciangelo's cuisine is supported by world class service maestro'd by Stephane Buliard and Jerome Naulleau. Savona has the largest wine cellar in the state of Pennsylvania offering guests over 1,000 selections to choose from. Head Sommelier, Melissa Monosoff uses her studied palette, vast wine knowledge & soft approach to heighten each guests dining experience. We look forward to welcoming you to Savona.
"I went twice in last 2 weeks, and the service and food were excellent. I love the crab salad, and both the steak and surf and turf special were wonderful. My daughter thinks the dover sole is the best around. Try to get a soufle for dessert."

"Service was very, very, poor, with rushed servers and long waits between courses. A glass of wine never arrived, salt was requested and rock salt without a grinder was provided. The food was very average. Impossible to get servers attention to get anything, one of the worst dining experiences in a long time."

"Took my husband here for his birthday, he and I both thought it was terrific. We were treated extremely well, the food was delicious and well presented. Absolutely recommend for anyone looking for a high class experience!"

"We sat in the corner table on the "patio" (it's inside, not like a real patio). Everything was absolutely wonderful--service, food, ambiance. They bring little tastes of things from the chef which is very nice. It is an expensive restaurant but very much worth it."

"We had our 3rd or 4th meal at Savona, and it was excellent. At first, the prices seems a trifle high, but the chef sends out small samplers, and the fresh bread is hot and superb. Carmen and his staff are attentive and very pleasant, without being at all obsequious. The atmosphere is beautiful, and they do not rush you through your meal. The entrees are diverse and interesting, and you get a very generous serving. It is a wonderful treat and dining experience. Cindy L. O'D."

"The rare 5 star review from this OT VIP. Stellar execution from host, to wait, to kitchen staff. Everything sparkled from the moment we sat, till the moment the lemon tyme dessert was plated. Large fish selection on this particular evening (fine with us) and we sampled the Alaskan Halibut and the Sea Bass, the primi was short rib homemade ravioli that were simply decadent. Can't wait to go back."

"We had an exceptional dinner at Savona. The entrees were fantastic (we each had the striped bass and dover sole, respectively). Dinner was paired with a fantastic French wine. Desserts were delicious as well.
Service was, if anything, even more incredible than the food. Although the restaurant was packed to capacity, it felt as if we had the wait staff to ourselves, as we were the recipients of constant attention.
We particularly enjoyed the little treats between courses, such as the palate cleansing sorbet, mini-marshmallows and champagne.
The only negative, and it was a slight one, was the addition of squid ink to the risotto appetizer. It seemed like overkill, and really didn't add to the aesthetics of the presentation."

"Lost some of its "pizzazz" from earlier years. Very rushed (like wanting to clear plates before we were finished?) Never offered coffee at the end of the meal.
Also, very pricey."

"Savona is one of the best restaurants on the Main Line, however, its pretense is greater than its performance. The service was good but somewhat disjointed and slow. For instance, the bread was late in getting to the table and 10 minutes thereafter the busboy asked is we wanted butter. The appetizers were very tasty. My wife ordered the steak which was excellent. I ordered the Dover sole, the most expensive item on the menu at $55 and the signature dish. It was frankly tough and did not exhibit the soft, flakiness that I had expected. Previously I thought that Savona had the best Dover sole I had eaten in the US but I need to amend that opinion. My wife and I concluded that the meal was good but not great and not worth the price."

"Savona is an attractive venue with very well-prepared food and a subdued noise volume that makes it possible to have a pleasant conversation without straining or shouting to be heard -- something that's hard to come by these days. Its main defect is the first course (appetizer) selection, which manages to be narrow in scope and over-priced. The bistro upstairs is a very cost-effective (though much noisier) alternative with tasty food but very short pours that have prompted us to complain on two occasions.
One common theme for both locations (upstairs and down) is inconsistent service quality. You sometimes feel you've been left to fend for yourself upstairs. Downstairs, hospitality ends with the hostess; servers seem less welcoming."

"Savona's website declares "Consistent, creative, high quality dining" ...with prices to match the hype. Sadly my recent meal, and that of my dining partner, was therefore disappointing. The food was OK, but not right enough to warrant the cost. Some of the food came out tepid, not hot. The lamb shank was tender but lacking in rich flavor. The grilled fish dish would have benefited from crispy skin to make it shine. Luckily the service and appetizers of grilled octopus and seared tuna rescued the meal from fair to good."

"My husband and I had dinner at Savona to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary. The food, the staff, the service was excellent. The bottle of wine we wanted was out of stock but the recommendation as a replacement by the GM was great. We had a great experience and we look forward to dining at Savona again."

"Well I am so disappointed to write that one of our favorite restauarants of all time has taken a downward turn. The ambiance is wonderful, as is the presentation, but the food is very average for this level of dining. The fish was overdone for two of us. Redstone has significantly better fish. I'm so sorry to say :( It was rather pedestrian."

"Service was a bit pretentious and the signature Dover Sole was in no way worth $55. But the prawn risotto was outstanding, as was the wine selection."

"The meal was very disappointing. The best parts were the bread and desserts. The duck was very salty. The vegetable was hardly there. The little "tastes" were too small, and hard to tell what they were. The cooking was below average."

"The food was very good, the service however was not. Our waiter told us that he was not going to mention a vegetable on the specials list because he didn't know how to pronounce it. When asked to describe a fish special, his response was "it's good." He couldn't describe if it was similar to Tuna, Swordfish etc.
Upon picking our car up from the valet, several staff members were gathered on the side of the building smoking and hanging out near a dumpster.
We were truly embarrassed bringing new guests of the restaurant here and will probably not return. I would reccomend investing in training and quality service as opposed to cosmetics of the building."
