"Great happy hour! We had a very limited time to eat before a show and while it took a little while to get our food (they were swamped) once we got it, they were great about getting additional drinks and getting our check for us very quickly."

"Really good food, felt the service was a bit rushed. My husband hadn't finished what was on his plate and they were asking about dessert. We were in and out in an hour.... No hanging around"

"Food and service excellent....but it's just too noisy! Please remember, PEOPLE, that not everyone wants to hear your loud conversations and gaudy laughter; some of us want to savor the delicious food and talk quietly to each other."

"Many times we have returned for the best, delicious Japanese food, good wine or beer, wonderful atmosphere, and very kind and professional service. We love to go to Nijo when we are in Seattle!"

"Everything was good. The service was average but the servers were very attentive and polite. We were visiting Seattle and were looking for a great sushi experiance while everything was good we were hoping for a little more."

"This was my second time at Nijo for business lunches and I have enjoyed both have been superb. Good service, good food and quiet enough you can discuss business. Plus it is only a couple of blocks from the Ferry Terminal. Thanks. We will be back."

"I came here for a get together happy hour with a party of 7 (so I made a reservation using the Open Table link on their website). I arrived a bit early but they set up our table within 5 minutes. The food was excellent (especially for the price!), I really like the sake (salmon) nigiri, it was melt in your mouth goodness. I would go quite as far to say this is the best sushi in Seattle or anything, but it is really cheap for sushi without sacrificing quality. The only complaint I have was that our server seemed very rushed the whole time, she often rushed away before everyone could put in their order and she wasn't all that friendly. Still, all of our food and drinks came in a timely manner and she didn't get any of the orders wrong."

"What a gem: The freshest sushi, the most gracious service by Nicole and a quiet atmosphere! It was a joy for us to return. Looking forward to return to the warm weather Bamboo garden patio."

"Nijo was great! My girlfriend and I had never had sushi like this before, very artfully made and delicious to boot. The service was spot on and the food came out so quick and effortlessly . I'd recommend asking then for their expertise on the sake menu because its a big one. Go here!"

"Great location next to the waterfront, we went for a walk and went on the ferris wheel afterwards. Food was excellent. We had the Miso soup, gyoza, and spider roll. The gyoza(potstickers) were incomparably good to anything I've ever had. Cheap drinks for happy hour. I highly recommend Nijo's bar and grill."

"We were staying in Seattle for one night, and found Nijo via OpenTable, despite our hotel having a highly rated sushi bar, we wanted to escape and so booked in. Service was very good, and we sat up at the sushi bar where the chef's happily chatted with us, asking what we were ordering, happy to make suggestions and recommendations and actually made our night. The meal was good value for the quality of sushi on offer. Would happily recommend Nijo to anyone visiting Seattle."

"not sure what the deal is with sushi bars with sushi chefs that are as young as teenagers and waitress staff that need to be used to place order for sushi with sushi chefs right behind bar. how are waiters/waitress going to know what is fresh and what is best? why not go direct to source? in the end, overpriced sushi and mediocre quality with simple preparation."

"I love this place - the service and food is always great. The location is a little out of the way (ally facing down near the waterfront), so it is a nice little neighborhood secret. Great atmosphere and always impresses those that I bring there."

"I love some of the food except the Beef Wagyu Style (I asked for medium, i think they cooked it well done, it was chewy and hard-horrible especially when you have to pay $32), also for Peppercorn Tempura Udon (it was too sour, it's like they pour a bottle of tobasco sauce). Overall other foods, good. I went with a family of 10. The wierd part is in order for you to get the happy hour food, all adults must purchase drinks. Never heard that one before."

"I ended up knowing Nijo just because other known Japanese restaurants were not available - and Nijo still had several times opened for reservation. But I was positively surprised. Environment is cool, what you would expect from a cozy place in downtown Seattle, not that traditional and cold neighborhood Japanese restaurant. Food was surprisingly good. In the 3 visits I had the chance to try the omakase menu, several others like guioza, sashimi, tempura, sushi. Salmon and Tuna sashimi can be compared to top $$$$ restaurants, and sushis were very well prepared also (rice always perfect). One complain is that combo (8 sushi) came with just 1 salmon/1 tuna, so you prefer an specific fish probably need to ensure you ask to include more of it."

"We had the chefs special 8 course omakase. Every course was delicious and beautiful! By the fourth course we were already getting full, but we polished off every plate! The service was very quick, not a lot of waiting between courses. The quality of all the ingredients, veggies, meats and seafood were top notch!! Sashimi was cot well and they weren't stingy either. I highly recommend everyone eat there!!!!"

"Nijo has a creative sushi menu with a number of rolls not found elsewhere. In addition to very fresh and creative sushi /maki there is a good variety of cooked dishes for those in a party that don't favor the goodness of raw fish. One of our group liked the teriyaki salmon filet and all of us enjoyed the shumai and gyoza, so much so that we reordered.
The atmosphere was lively while still being conducive to conversation. Our waitperson was friendly and she remembered my order from a prior visit. She was particularly adept at making recommendations from the long list of maki options. All of the fish was fresh and firm. It's the best I've found in Seattle.
The fried banana spring roll was exceptional - a hit for everyone in our gr"
