"Great menu both for lunch & dinner. The staff is super nice, and quick to serve any needs. The Bar tends to get packed around 4:30pm and doesn't let up until around 7pm. Dinning outside next to the fire pit is a great place to people watch & keep warm on cool spring nights."

Review 5 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"First, the service was very good, the bar was vibrant but the restaurant area was too noisy with some group of people too loud.
The tuna appetizer was a little too sweet for me, the green chili had potato in it which wasn't good. My fried potato was lukewarm, actually nothing was hot.
Both deserts were very good and big portions.

Review 6 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 3.0 out of 5 (Good)
"Busy bar scene, but the restaurant feels more relaxing and separated so that if you want a more calm dinner, that is an option. Great patio that I am sure is busy all summer long. The food was okay-nice variety, but we found it on the heavy side. Service was okay-not blown away, but not disappointed."

"Went for restaurant week with some friends..Had an amazing time. The food was incredible.. favorites by far: Saffron Shrimp (would love that as an entree), Sweet Potato Chips, Cookies in Creme Brule portions were spot on.. meatloaf a bit salty but tasty. Will definitely be back!

Review 10 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 3.0 out of 5 (Good)
"We went for Denver Restaurant Week. They changed their $52.80 menu from what was posted on the website, so I was a little disappointed. I have been here several times and am always pleased. I had noted that it was my birthday in the reservation, and not one person acknowledged that at all. Not the hostess or server. This I found very annoying, not as it was my birthday, but had I taken someone else, I would have been more disappointed in the lack of attention to detail. My dining partners loved, loved, loved their meals. Mine was so-so, in part because it was my second choice meal. Will I go back, probably."

Review 11 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

"No vegetarian dinner entree options. Very meat-heavy menu; even fish/seafood dishes had meat sides. (shrimp with andouille, trout with andouille). I understand they're competing with Elway's and Houston's, but if I wanted a their menu, I'd go there!"

Review 13 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"Second Kitchen restaurant was fantastic. Four of us experienced it for the first time and we will definetely go back. The food was great and the atmosphere was perfect - not to stuffy but very nice inside. The noise level was just right - the bar had a great energy level but you could still have nice conversations at the dinner table without having to yell or shout over each other. The food was great - we all loved our dishes. The romaine salad was heavenly and the desserts were great as well."

Review 15 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"We went to Second Home during Restaurant Week. The Restaurant Week menu was from their regular menu. The Grilled Romaine Salad was one of the best salads I have ever had. The Flatiron steak was tender and rare. The Chicken and Waffle was different and good. They make the richest hot chocolate and the Cookies and Cream Brulee was very good. The service was excellent - friendly, there when you needed something, never rushing you. We will go back."

Review 17 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"We went for restaurant week and i thought it was fabulous. The Spicy Tuna TarTar app was really good: Fresh, Spicy and a lot of fish. The Flat Iron Steak was well cooked and had great flavor, the fries were a bit bland but the entree was good. The Cookies and Creme Brulee was fantasic and I am intrigued by the other desserts as well as the Chicken and Waffle. I will definitely return and bring frineds. I loved the decor and the though when the room was full it seemed a bit loud, it still felt exciting and hip."

Review 18 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"Pretty much everything we had was mediocre at best. The large cheese plate had very average cheeses and nothing special. Who puts Swiss on a $15 cheese plate? The sliders sounded exciting, but fell flat with little taste. The sausage pizza was good, but I wouldn't want a whole meal of it. The server was either in your face and reaching over you (there were only two of us) or not really around. I even saw her jump up and down at a tip left by another table. It is great if she got a great tip, but she should have been more professional. Overall, the bar looked like a good place to go for happy hour, but I would skip the food unless you just want to grab a quick bite of pizza."

Review 19 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"We went for the pj brunch. The food was great, a little on the expensive side for brunch, but considering our 6 yr old ate for free it all evened out. He absoulutly loved the room set up with sleeping bags and bean bag chairs where he could watch tv and eat his breakfast, we got to enjoy a grown up conversation. They even have a "babysitter" to help with the kids buffet and entertain the kids."

Review 23 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"It was really fun, but loud! Our usual waiter was waiting on us. Gave us plenty of time. There were several large groups making most of the noise. The food was great. Ribs were meaty and the sauce was not overbearing. The jalapeno slaw could have had one fewer jalapenos. It was pretty spicy! The grilled romaine with the apples/blue cheese was terrific. A great mix of flavors, and a large portion. The pork chop with the gratineed potatoes was wonderful. Splurge for the M5 on the wine list. It went nicely with our dinner. All in all, we like 2nd Home and it is consistant. We will return."

Review 25 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"My wife and I really enjoyed the comfort food we had at the Second Home. My only recommendation would be, that if you are serving a special three course meal and each piece is priced out individually, that if someone orders the three pieces that add up to less than the special price, you charge them for each piece individually. Beyond that, we found the wait staff and management to be pretty good. I definitely see us going back."

Review 26 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"We went to Second Home Kitchen & Bar expecting a great meal and we were very disappointed. The doors opened-up to a cool bar and nice dining room. The menu was okay, but seemed to lack a good steak option. The only steak offered was a flank steak that although the presentation was nice, it was bland, tough, and chewy. I substituted the fries for the whipped mashed potatoes that tasted like instant and lacked both flavor and texture. My boyfriend ordered the veal, which by the waiter's description, sounded wonderful. However, that was not the case, this too lacked flavor, spice, and he wasn't even remotely interested in taking his leftovers home. I will say the one bright spot was our waiter, he was knowledgeable and friendly."

"We enjoyed Second Home immensely. The menu has a lot of variety. Our food was very well prepared and delicious. The cornbread was unique. The wine menu was comprehensive with good selections. Our dessert (cookie in a cast iron skillet) was also wonderful. The service was good. We enjoyed the decor and ambiance. We look forward to returning. "We got the perfect table: part booth for my friend who need something soft to lean on and part chairs for me since I need that. Our waiter was very attentive. Once I broke the ice with him, he became more friendly and human. Our food was wonderful and we weren't made to feel odd because we chose a variety of salad and appetizers rather than a full meal. I got to taste a certain wine first and that was good because I didn't like it so I didn't order it."

Review 30 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"We had a large group that fluctuatedbetween 12 and 14 upon reservation and they were so kind and accommodating on the phone. We had the 'den' set up for us and it was so beautiful and private but we were still able to enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant. Our server, Jordan, was fast, friendly and very helpful. Our two complaints-the restaurants menu was not updated online and there was a lack of vegetarian entrees on the current one. HOWEVER-Jordan to the rescue, he asked the kitchen if they could accommodate us & our guest was taken care of. She ordered the Boulder from the online (summer) menu and was VERY happy with it! We had an amazing time and we have already recommended it to everyone we know. We will be back again for sure!"

Review 36 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"Had a large family meal at Second Home over the holidays and we were all very underwhelmed. Despite the great menu, the food is okay, but not great. We certainly had much higher expectations for the prices and location within the JW Marriott.

The server was trying her best, but was overwhelmed the whole night. It appeared the whole restaurant was understaffed and playing catch up.

For the price, there are much better options in Cherry Creek or better yet, venture downtown for more choices and less snobby clientle.

We won't be back to Second Home.

Review 39 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"The good: Nice vibe, noisy but in a lively manner. Crowded & hard to hear due to noise/music but in a vibrant way. Bar packed with nowhere to sit-not a problem as we were immediately seated. The Arugula salad was the highlight. Outstanding! The lobster was terrific. Caesar billed as traditional but lacked the anchovy, had cruotons and was therefore not tradional, or very good. The not-so-good: The pizza was a disaster. Flat, mostly crust, tasteless and subpar for premium pizza. The wine list was average. Staff was over-worked and very slow. Forgot our drinks for 30 minutes. Manager not responsive to concerns. Hard to recommend forking out $100 to a place with glaring weaknesses. You might get lucky but I'm betting my $100 you won't."

Review 44 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"Second Home Kitchen and Bar was recommended to me through Yelp and I'm so glad I took their recommendation. The food was amazing me and my boyfriend shared the lobster bake and order an extra lobster tail to throw in it, it was to die for. We also had the fried green tomatoes which took me back to my southern roots. We also had the sweet potatoe chips and the calamari which were also delicious. Our server Ryan was awesome he gave us great food recommendation from the menu. The drinks were on point as well. I would highly recommend Second Home for groups or just date night."

Review 45 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 3.0 out of 5 (Good)
"I eat lunch frequently at Second Home...often taking a guest. My guest this time was a vegetarian and this was a BD celebration as noted on my Open Table reservation. I was extremely disappointed in the food. The salad did not have a praeline dressing; it as an oily mystery dressing. The loaded baked potato was not loaded...minimal sour cream....some butter....however it seemed to be seared on the top and that was good. The birthday dessert came without a candle. Overall I was disappointed this time....but I will return."

"This restaurant had a wonderful variety of appetizers which we made a complete meal from not having to be tied down to just a few main dishes. Much nicer for three women wanting to visit and share then complete dinners. Fresh and perfectly prepared ingredients were very welcome. One would never have guessed that we were in a hotel dining room!"

Review 49 for Second Home Kitchen & Bar

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"This trip was on Thanksgiving. Second Home provided a very traditional prix fixe menu with recipes just like ma used to make. Right down to the green beans in mushroom soup sauce with crispy onion rings on top, and ambrosia salad with canned mandarin oranges and maraschino cherries. They didn't try to reinterpret the meal for foodies, which is good. They gave a home-style meal, perfect for those who were missing their real home. They even sent a big bag of sandwich-fixin's for the next day: leftover turkey, white bread and Best Foods mayonnaise."
