"If you must eat a Sunday brunch/lunch, then you MUST go to Second Home. I went there with my wife and 4 kids and it was spectacular. The wait staff was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, very helpful and efficient. The food was out of this world--I ate the Turkey Cubano and my wife had the Crab Cake, both were superb. We also shared the Tuna Tartare which was probably some of the best I've ever had. If you have kids, they have a "kids room" where they can "decorate" their food however they want (there are bowls of goodies like Lukcy Charms, Chocolate chips, Gummy Bears, etc.) while watching a movie and hanging out with other kids--something to give us busy parents a brief respite while enjoying our meal. We will be back!"

"The food was good enough but not for the price. Of our four main courses, none included any kind of vegetable on the side or in the food choice - comfort food can still be balanced. Presentation a bit disappointing for the price and locale as well."

"A cozy, charming place. Two of us liked the halibut with fennel and one was happy with the trout. Salad was refreshing with a light, tangy dressing. Pleasant, knowledgable server. Yummy warm cookie for dessert. Very loud music which was turned down at our request."

"Home Kitchen and Bar was very good for a restaurant inside a hotel. The food was good, our waitress was enthusiastic about the menu and very attentive. My dinner was wonderful, different and delicious. My friend's was good, not great. The ambiance a little too open, crowded and noisy for a romantic dinner. It seemed almost like a very pretty cafeteria, the way the tables lined up. It did not see dark, private tables for romantic dinners. We had fun and a good time, though."

"When we arrived for our 9:30 reservation, we were concerned at first by the noise level in the room. However, it being so late, the room cleared quickly and we were content. Any earlier reservations would have had to put up with an extremely high level of hubbub, making normal conversation impossible.
Our server, M J, was delightfully energetic and very conversant.
All four of us were pleased with her service and our dinner choices and had an excellent experience.
As we left, we remarked that the bar was still very noisy, filled with people who appeared to be enjoying themselves."

"While my wife and I were excited to try this restaurant we left saying been there/done that. The Music was extrememly loud although, as the restaurant became busier, it offset the music. Our bottle of Burgandy was cold, not chilled but cold which was a turn off. My wife ordered the Chicken and waffles and the first round of waffles was burnt and when we had them make another batch they seemed a little doughy.. My dinner was okay but basically while we were excited to try the restaurant we left underwhelmed."

"The food was a delicious surprise. The green chili casserole had the right amount of kick with a flavor that melted in the mouth. The pork chops were grilled to perfection. And a perfect complement to the whole meal was the $8 bottomless mimosas special. I will be going back!!"

"What happened? We enjoyed this restaurant on our first visit several months ago, but were very disappointed with the food this time around. Each of our party of four had a different dish, and we all agreed the food was mediocre at best. The location is great and the atmosphere is lively, but there are plenty of better options nearby."

"Beautiful room, excellent service, chicken and waffles with a wonderful syrup; what else could I want, except to check them out at the Saturday brunch? Construction going on outdoors but we could see an oblong firepit-can't wait to see the patio when it is done. A nice spot to relax and enjoy good food."

"My husband and I went out for a quick date night. We sat in the bar at happy hour and had loved the ambiance. We ate from the small plates menu (had the sweet potato fries as an appetizer and they were fantastic). We alsohad the tuna from the small plate menu and the best pepperoni pizza. Both were awesome!!

"Ordered smoked Salmon Benedict and Crab cake Benedict's - on both meals the eggs were nearly hard cookedand there was but a smattering of hollandaise sauce - I told the sweet server that this was unacceptable , that the chef needed to know that the eggs were far too hard - I hoped she might send the manager over but she seemed new and just said " oh okay" - I was visiting with an old friend from out of town and didn't want anything to spoil our short time together , so I let it go but it was unacceptable - the ambiance was lively , contemporary and I liked it - the coffee was very good and the fresh fruit was fine quality of Blackberries , Blueberries and Strawberries- so that was better than expected -"

"Second Home was recommended to us by "foodie" friends who knew we were going to be in Denver. The food, service and ambiance were excellent. It was a late lunch so the restaurant was emptying but our server gave us wonderful attention without hovering. the food was fresh, very tasty and very much enjoyed. We chatted with several of the staff members who all seem to enjoy their jobs and the beautiful setting. thanks for a wonderful experience. we will be back!"

"The decor was interesting & nice, however it was EXTREMELY bright in the main dining area, which didn't make for a cozy romantic setting. I had the Buffalo Stroganoff, which was kinda blah & lacking in flavor. My friends had the meatball app & the smoked pork chop which they seemed to like. Our server was very friendly. I would be willing to try this place again, & have heard that they have a good happy hour. This is definitely not your typical hotel restaurant which is good."

"I was very disappointed. We live in the area and just forget to go there but were able to book for restaurant week. The food was very high fat and unappealing. I ordered the caesar salad (got what you would get in a Applebees) green chili special (pureed chili with melted cheese and sour cream on a burnt tortilla. Dessert was cookie & ice cream which was okay. I also looked at the main menu to see if there were healthy choices so that we could come back. I only found 2 items that were healthy. My husband had the same experience with his meal-not up to par for a chic hotel in Cherry Creek North. The bar was packed but the restaurant still had lots of seating available even though it was restaurant week.

"Great to have complementary valet (+ tip of course) - especially on a cold night. Food is very good and reasonably priced. Haven't tried the larger entres - but an appetizer and a salad, pizza or some mid range dishes are a good buy. Plus a wine list is available with reasonably priced wines by the glass."

"The food was mediocre, at best. It was very bland and almost tasteless. The atmosphere was spoiled by a cart placed next to our table. On top were some beautiful pies. On the bottom shelf wer some small bags of sugar and other ingredients - not appetizing or esthetically pleasing. A large basket of fruit (apples) would have been much more appealing."

"Our service was fantantastic and our server was very attentive and professional. We found a piece of plastic in our salad and the manager was very quick to comp our entire meal. I thought she went way beyond what she needed to do. We will definately be going back."

"We were disappointed with our Valentine's Day experience at Second Home. The noise was significant, the tables were too close together, and the food was just average. The crab cake appetizer and the Prosecco were the highpoints of our dinner. We've had brunch at Second Home before and really liked it. Dinner, not so much."

"We've been to Second Home on several occasions and have enjoyed it immensely. The cheese and meat tray is great with plentiful portions and the T-Bone Tuesdays for $24 is well worth the price. The steak was very flavorful and, frankly, exceeded my expectations both in taste and the portion."

"Great food a d drink for brunch but service was almost non-existent. Out table was available 40 minutes after our reservation time. Had to hunt our waitress down to get things like ketchup. Our table was not completely cleaned and asked for a rag twice and none came. Had to go find one myself. The spot is great for kids with a room with cartoons and pajama breakfast. It is the main reason I would give it another shot."
