"It is a larage restaurant, so when busy, slow. Also slow for a large tables. (Most of the time worth the wait) My last experience, the service was fast and good as there were few tables occupied. The food is very good, although, I do not care for their Caesar salad dressing but their tomato soup is amazing! Check out the menu - something for everyone. We go regularly for lunch."

"Hot House Cafe is a "stand by" for me. The food is consistent and the menu has many choices. The menu has recently changed slightly but the variety is still there. I had the caesar salad with grilled shrimp and I have to say that the shrimp was fantastic. I've had the salad before but with the chicken breast and I enjoyed the shrimp more. Service was good despite there being a couple of large groups in the restaurant at the same time for lunch. This is one place that I will always go back to."

"We generally find the windows somewhat cooler. This restaurant has been a favourite of ours for many years, back when it was called Pat and Marios. The food seemed to be quite salty of late. My wife had the pasta bar and found the salt content in the various pastas varied noticeably. I had the burger and it too was salty. We were both still quenching our thirsts the next day. This is not to say it was not good just that there was an after effect."

"We recently enjoyed the Wed night buffet. Great selection of food - beef, mussels,pad thai, cappeletti (to die for !) salads, desserts, create your own pasta !! All the selections were great and the value was fantastic. Not a better priced buffet around.! We will be back. Service was also excellent."

"It wasnt bad, but they dont mark hot and spicy food which end up wasting my dish and share my wife's pizza. Waiters pretty useless, they dont suggest or give you any help. I used to like this place before, but now its different."

"Went for lunch during Winterlicious. Had to ask the waiter for the Winterlicious menu. Waiter was prompt when we arrived but had to flag him down when we were ready to order. Crab cakes appetizer was actually crab cake appetizer. Main course, smoked chicken ravioli was delicious although friend's veal sandwich specified banana peppers and should have said very, very hot banana peppers. Desserts were delicious. Overall, atmosphere was very pleasant and enjoyed the surrounding area for great browsing."

"A little more customer attention at the beginning of the evening would have made the experience better. I didn't feel that the effort I made to make reservations well in advance for the Winterlicious menu was acknowledged, i.e, I got the sense a table wasn't really reserved for us and we were put in a less than prime seating area. Plus we had to ask for the Winterlicious menu and we were only given one once we assured the server that we did reserve a seating for this which had already been acknowledged by the front door "greeter"."

"We decided to go for a late lunch here during Winterlicious. The moment you walk in, the hostess greets you with a polite "hello". She immediately took us to our seats where we sat in what seemed to be an older part of the restaurant (near a nice window view of Church and Wellington). The waiter was a bit cocky and in some cases ignored us throughout the lunch. He gave me a funny look as I ordered a glass of their house wine (at 2pm). He did however, know the menu, as well as some brief history of Hot House.

The food was wonderful, the tomato basil soup was to die for with just enough life left in you to chow down on the veal sandwhich. Which was only good until you ate the New York Cheescake, that took you to a whole new level of amazi"

"Went for Winterlicious - lunch. I had the crab cake, veal sandwich and cheese cake. Friend had the same app & main, but got the peanut butter pie. Everything was good to very good. The crab cake was very good, but a little small. The veal sandwich was also very good. Perhaps a touch dry, but overall, very good. Desserts were good.

"Using the Winterlicious website I booked a reservation for lunch via Open Table for lunch 3 PM on Sunday, January 27. I was rudely greeted by a hostess who led us to a table. Our unpleasant waiter was miffed when we asked for the Winterlicious menu. He only handed us the dinner menu. Another rude employee told us lunch was only served until 3 PM and that dinner began at 4 PM. We were surprised, since we booked for lunch. The waitress was very unhelpful in trying to figure out any information for us and never returned to our table. The manager without any respect for our situation told us restaurant policy and walked away. The Winterlicious website offers no information about lunch ending at 3 PM, and neither does your restaurant."
