"With a restaurant of this quality you know the food is going to be good, but the question is: how good? My girlfriend and I started by sharing a prosciutto appetizer that was stellar yet not quite amazing. My date then ordered the steak, which was everything I expected and then so much more. That steak was to die for. I ordered the grilled swordfish which was served with a complimenting list of delicious vegetables, but, again, the swordfish was nothing to go home and brag about for its price (the vegetables/pasta were). The dessert was wonderful. One of the best desserts I have ever had. Unfortunately our server was lost when we wanted our check and we waited far too long for it. The dinner was great but I expected slightly more."

"I had the great pleasure of dining at Eleven for lunch the other day. The green salad and salmon were out of this world. Along with a nice chardonnay it made the meal complete. Even the bread was incredibly delicious. It was the best lunch I can remember having in forever. The atmosphere was hip and current and very comfortable. I would recommend Eleven to everyone I know."

"We had a very delightful dinner on 8 June. The martinis were excellent! The menu was intriguing. Our party of three (including an executive chef) wanted to sample as much as we could of the menu (we did not go with the tasting menu - which just didn't appeal to us that evening) The lamb carpaccio was ethereal. The sashimi appetizer was nicely balanced. Halibut, Seafood Sampler and the Strip steak entrees were perfectly prepared and presented. We chose two wines - and the sommelier answered any questions we might have had. Pleased with our choices and very, very nice with the meal. Finished with three different desserts - Tiramisu Cannoli - wow! Some port and Amaro and we walked away very happy, nicely satisfied. RECOMMENDED!"

"I attended this restaurant on a busy Friday evening. We had reservations but were running late. We called and they gladly held our table for us with no hassle. The menu was very eclectic, with something for everyone. The wine menu is extensive; I did wish the waiter had a little more knowledge / opinion when we asked for a suggestion. He was very nice, though, and attentive. Overall it's a great spot to visit in the heart of Pittsburgh's Strip District."

"A disappointment. Been to Eleven many times and always enjoyed dinner, but this visit was not up to par. Banished to upstairs dining room where service and ambiance not very good. Bar noise was a distraction. Also, on a Saturday night at 7:15 they ran out of soft shell crabs? With an already limited menu how does that happen? The waiter was totally confused. Then $38 for two loin lamb chops!!! Are you kidding me. Basically 4 or 5 bites of an average tasting lamb chop. Dinner for four with a round of drinks in the bar, appitizers, entrees, two shared desserts and two bottles of lower priced wine was $500. There are now other excellent places to spend that kind of money in Pittsburgh. Hopefully, this was just an off night for Eleven."

"My wife and I have dined at Eleven many times and, in the past, have had excellent experiences. Unfortunately, we chose to dine late (last seating at 9:45 p.m.). That was obviously a mistake for diners at this Big Burrito Group restaurant. The waiter seemed to be in a hurry to get us in and out. We are used to leisurely dining and this was anything but that. Our appetizers were brought to us within minutes of our ordering it. The crab cake appetizer I had was dry and overbreaded. My wife enjoyed her salad. Almost as soon as the appetizer dishes were cleared, the entrées appeared. I had the halibut for an entrée which was tasty and the sauce was good. My wife on the other hand, did not enjoy her overcooked crab cake entrée."

"We enjoyed Eleven, but were thankful that we had such good company with us because it was a very long night. The service was terribly slow. We did the 3 course tasting menu with wine pairings and it was over 3 1/2 hours. All the tables around us came in after us and left way before. Even after we were done, it took half an hour to get our bill settled."

"As always, Eleven was an excellent experience. The appetizers were delicious, especially the Lamb Carpaccio and Yellowtail. They have a great wine list with a vast selection and vast price range, so there is something for everyone. Entrees were delicious - I had the halibut and it was cooked perfectly. There were five us and we were catching up and having a great dinner and there was no one rushing us or trying to get us out, which is a great feeling on a Friday night."

"I brought my wife and daughter to Eleven last night for dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. Everything was outstanding. The food was delicious. My daughter has the vegetarian sampler and it looked beautiful and my daughter said it was amazing! I recommend the Eleven Mule for a cocktail. The cucumber vodka was delicious! "Nice atmosphere but its not really set up for an intimate dinner for two. If you have a large party you will get a booth but if there's two of you there to celebrate an occasion, as we were, you will be sat at the row of tables that are spaced about 18 inches apart on either side. Some tables were being attended to by the waiter, a women serving bread, the host and others many of the tables were occasionally visited by their waiter as was ours. The menu is very unique and the food was excellent though we had to use my iphone to look up many of the various unique ingredients listed in the menu as the waiter was no where to be found. We would deal with the lack of attentiveness again just because the food was very good."

"I went to Eleven on Sunday at around 1pm. I did not know: unfortunately they only had brunch menu. If I had known, I would have gone to another place. Apparently it is a common thing for restaurants (at least in Pittsburgh) not to have lunch menu, but only brunch on Sunday at lunch time. This was a little disappointing, and spoiled my first time at this restaurant ... my fault anyway.
Regardless of this, food was good; good wine selection; ambience is not really too quiet, which is good as it gives the feel of a lively place; the architecture is really cool ... Definitely would recommend ... I will have to go there for dinner some time, to see what the full menu is like."

"I love the food at Eleven. Really. I come here when I am visiting and tend to take a large group out and introduce them to eleven. The food is always spectacular. I love the fact that they have a vegetarian tasting menu. That said, our overall experience was just mediocre. In fairness, this is the first time the service was this bad.
The timing was just really off. We didn't get bread until we asked. The waiter forgot the wine pairings. He didn't check on us at a relevant time. Yes, we were a large party but still. It was way too long between courses."

"The food was great, but the environment and ambiance felt somewhat tentative. My wife and I ate there to celebrate our anniversary. We dined upstairs, where it felt somewhat dark, stale, uneventful. Although dark lighting can often make for a more intimate atmosphere, it seemed dark for no reason. Their food is definitely the redeeming quality, but it is expensive. There are many factors that make up the complete dining experience (food of course being a very important one). It terms of atmosphere, decor, staff, layout/arrangement, personality, etc., Eleven seems to miss the mark."

"Celebrated my birthday at Eleven...one of my favorite Pittsburgh eating places. The food was excellent as always. Service was exceptional. I was especially impressed with the menu selections. There was something for everyone's palate. Everyone at our table shared bites so it was a wonderful way to sample the best of Eleven. Even though my guests and I were quite full at the end of dinner, the dessert menu was too enticing to refuse. I ended my meal with a delicious chocolate dessert and the best cup of coffee in the 'Burgh."

"Eleven is one of the premier restaurants in Pittsburgh and one of their best attributes is the impeccable service. Last Saturday, they fell short of our expectations. We sat in the table overlooking the bar and found that the upstairs bartender also did double duty as the server for our table. While taking care of our group, the service was good, but the delays between his visits to the table made our dinner longer than anticipated and we had to take our desserts to go so we would not be late for a show. He was a good fellow, just spread too thin.
Our food was outstanding - as were our desserts when we had the chance to enjoy them later - so we will return but will clarify that our table will have a server who does not double as bartender."

"We has 5:00 reservations, they opened at 5 sharp. Even though there were 20 others who also had 5:00 reservation. They left us standing on the sidewalk, and it was cold. Even if we used the Valet, which we didn't because they hadn't started yet, we still would have left us on the sidewalk, so what's the point of valet?
Come on, seriously, they need to get a clue.
Food was awesome, but won't be back. The sidewalk thing ruined the whole $250 dinner for two Mother's Day event. At least let us in the bar!!!!!!"
