"This was our first time to this restaurant.We had made reservation for Tuesday evening, we were seated promptly.
I would definitely recommend making reservation for Green Zebra,given it was very busy even on Tuesdays.On every tuesday they have special menu with different cuisine every week.We ordered 6 dishes for 2 people ,and we loved 5 of them.The desert menu is great too..will definitely go there again.."

"I chose this restaurant to treat a dear friend to a birthday dinner. She's vegan, so I wanted her to have a truly indulgent dinner. A friend recommended Green Zebra to me and it was the best recommendation. Every single plate was melt-in-our-mouths incredible. They were so inventive and their presentation is gorgeous. The server was very kind and she even brought a birthday cupcake for my friend. So thoughtful! I will gladly go back to the Green Zebra!"

"My wife and I recently went to Green Zebra for dinner. We were both really impressed with our waiters knowledge of the food and the wine/bar options. We didn't drink ourselves but we heard our waiter field several very specific questions from another table.
The food was excellent. We only gave it a four because not all of the items on the menu were gems. My wife, who has a better mind for taste enjoyed 3 elegant choices from the menu, each with a new bursting flavor, richness, and crispness (Roasted Golden Beet Salad, Zingerman’s Burrata, and a side I can't remember the name of). I, on the other hand, went with things that sounded good and was met with an above average meal; except for the Chilled Somen Noodles which were my most favorit"

"It could be considered "out of the way", but well worth the cab ride. Delicious veg food that would not be off-putting to non-veg eaters. My husband and I have been 80% veg for a year now and this was our first visit. We love Kinzie Chophouse for a special occasion, but wanted something less meat focused for a change. Green Zebra's variety and flavors will have us coming back for sure. Expect to spend $40+ per person if you have the recommended 3-4 plates per plus a cocktail or two."

"I hate to beat up on a restaurant that does a lot right--for one there is so much pork and beef in this city, it is nice to have a place that gives interesting eating options for the few of us with more limited dietary options. This place is really popular, but I think they can move beyond being popular bc they fill a unique niche and into the realm of better, simpler food.
In general, I think they erred on the side of over-salting and over-seasoning (and over-oiling) things that are delicious when prepared simply--for example the mushroom side was great looking but the sauce was super salty. The brussels were excellently cooked (i love brussels) but covered in dill and an oily lemon sauce.
This was our 2nd visit and likely our last"

"The food here is some of the best I've had (and I live in New York). Very original, inventive, natural, delicious. Less crazy about the decor, which is somewhat odd for a restaurant of this caliber; and the service was nice but unremarkable. Menu, however, is tough to beat, particularly for vegetarians. "There were six in our party, including three vegetarians, all,of whom were delighted by the long list of tasty vegetarian dishes. I chose the 5 course chefs menu, which turned out to be about one course too many. But other than the risotto, which wasn't great, everything was delicious. The mushroom pâté and eggplant bruschetta were fantastic. The restaurant was kind of quiet, even though it was a Thursday night, so I would suggest coming for the food, not for the scene."

"Incredible. You forget that you are not eating meat; not because they make the food either look or taste like meat, but rather because the flavors, presentation and textures are incredible. "My boyfriend & I went to Green Zebra to celebrate my birthday. It was our first time to the restaurant. What outstanding cuisine! We ordered 6 small plates & had more than enough to feel satisfied. The only reason I'm not giving our experience a rating of 5 is because our server was VERY disappointing & put a damper on the evening. After mentioning it was our first time to the restaurant & requesting some explanation about the menu items, ordering procedure, etc she was not at all helpful. She simply stated the menu changes frequently. In addition, we had requested a cozy booth & made a note we'd be celebrating my birthday in the reservation, yet neither of these requests were acknowledged. Food=outstanding; Service=disappointing."

"Let me tell you this that this restaurant is a very small place, tiny food and drink quantities for the price, not good for kids, unorganized seating and no room to move, uncourteous host. The only good thing was our server. On top of that the hostess added gratuity on 4 adults and my 2 year old son. When I complained about it she said that next time reserve the table for 5.... Wow."

"To be a vegetarian restaurant, you really need to have an interesting menu that brings out the diversity in vegetarian food. And Green Zebra delivers by doing exactly that. There is no 'imitation meat' - just good vegetarian dishes. The chef comes up with some unique combinations and interesting flavors. I can't say I LOVED each & every thing I had, but didn't every dish was above average. Service was friendly. Our waitress was very helpful explaining the menu & helping us choose."

"The wine that was served had turned and had to be sent back. The second glass was not much better. Our first dish had pieces of a kitchen sponge in it and nats were flying around us as we were dining. Wait staff was nice, but no accomodations were made for our issues and we were ignored as we left."
