Barbie Lomonte left her St. Louis home over 30 years ago bringing with her a passion for traditional Italian fare, something Houston sorely needed.
Barbie opened Pasta Lomonte's in 1986 and the intimate atmosphere continues to provide one of the most romantic settings in town.
Barbie's friendliness and hospitality are reminiscent of a family kitchen, where everyone is a friend. The extensive menu is modest, featuring home-cooked Italian delights accompanied by "to die for" sauces. Barbie Lomonte and her friendly staff look forward to making your dining experience truly unforgettable.
"My boss had pan seared trout, but it was dry. My meal was excellent, as usual, but I will not order the trout. Eddie tried everything to make it better, but the "damage" was done in the kitchen."

"Great experience, very romantic with the lights on patio and on trees. Music on Friday & Saturday night is a plus. Food is excellent, good variety, wait staff friendly and the manager & owner comes by table to greet. Couldn't ask for anything better. Will Morales"

"Lomonte's has a well-earned reputation as a great neighborhood restaurant. Judging by the activity level on our most recent visit, the "secret" may have gotten out to others — quite a number of people seemed to be having a good time that evening. It was a perfect night to sit on the outdoor (enclosed) deck and enjoy an April evening in Houston. The food was excellent — we enjoyed both beef and veal dishes, as well as the bread, pasta, and luscious chocolate cake-type dessert. And the service was, as usual, very good — timely, personable, fun, making the overall experience of the visit a very pleasant one. Having lived in the area for years, we chose Lomonte's for our last meal there before moving to a new home. And greatly enjoyed it!"

"The occasion was a friendly business lunch and Lomonte's was perfect. The service was attentive but unobtrusive, the decor was interesting and the food was delicious and timed to meet a business schedule. The food selection was extensive enough to meet the needs of everyone. The beef marsala was cooked perfectly and the salad was crisp and colorful. The other diners had a large salad with grilled chicken and shrimp picante, which they seemed to also enjoy. I look forward to returning soon!"

"Travelling alone on business from Scotland I was made to feel very welcome - food and service were excellent and they accomodated me the following evening even when very busy. On arrival the second night to be greated by my name typified their approach to customers. happy to recommend and will return when next in Houston."

"The food is always delicious. We have tried many dishes from spaghetti to eggplant parmesan and been delighted with the flavors and textures. The shrimp in garlic sauce is one of our favorites. The house wines are good and there is an excellent wine cellar to choose from. The service is always prompt and friendly and the waiters and waitresses are well versed in the menu.
We go for the live music on Friday and Saturday nights in the bar area which is separated from the main dining room by a large porch and walkway. The restaurant is nestled under beautiful live oaks and offers a romantic atmosphere for those special date nights along with being a great place to meet friends and have an enjoyable dinner."
