"Our waiter had no class and paid no attention to detail. He didn't know the dinner menu or the drink menu. I ordered a "white orchard" martini. He couldn't advise me if it was tasty or not. I tried the drink but it was awful. I told him and said I would like to order a glass of wine. He never returned with a wine menu or asked if I would like a glass. He also left the $12.00 charge for the drink on my bill, which I thought was wrong. We had two appetizers which we wonderful and next had a caesar salad which had too much dressing. After waiting at our table for an extended period of time, we asked for our check and left. Too bad we didn't have the waiter at the next table. Our evening would have been totally different."

"We were disappointed with a return to Plumpjack after many years. The menu had moments of inspiration but overall it did not live up to expectations. Prices are way too high for the quality delivered. Perhaps they can get away with it during the snow season, but it did not feel at all vibrant to us in atmosphere or culinary creations."

"We were lucky enough to eat at Plumpjack the last night of a short visit to Squaw Valley, and it was so good it almost made us want to stay another day just to dine there again. The wine list was impressive (if not daunting), the service was nothing short of outstanding, and the food was top notch. Both the lamb and steak with duck fat potatoes were incredible.. Will go again anytime I'm within a reasonable drive to get there!"

"We stayed at the Plumpjack hotel and had dinner at the Cafe. It was so much more than we expected for a hotel restaurant. I would highly recommend reservations because the restaurant is small, but the food, service, wine selection were amazing!"

"This was our first time to squaw valley and we were very pleased with finding PlumpJack! We absolutely loved it! The service and food were both amazing! Make sure to try the Poke Cones for your appetizers. Yum yum! You only get 3 though, so make sure to order more than one! Can't wait to eat here again next time we are back!"
