Experience The Lounge at DANIEL, another side of Chef Daniel Boulud’s renowned Manhattan restaurant. Equally as distinctive as the main dining room, The Lounge offers the same service and cuisine as our main dining room. Complete prix-fixe and tasting menus are available, along with à la carte options not available in our dining room. Savor an imitable fine dining experience or drop in for an appetizer, cocktail, or a late night dessert with Champagne.
"Despite the excellence of the food, our overall experience was spoiled by the slowness of the service, gracious as it was, and by the high pricing levels of the wines and the a la carte food menu."

"Fabulous dining experience. Very attentive service. Food was perfection with lots of extras- tastes, desserts. Highly recommend. We did lounge seating because we were going to the theatre and they were very accommodating."

"The food was wonderful. I had the duo of beef and my boyfriend had the milkfed veal. It was wonderful. I've been to many high end restaurants and this was definitely worth the money. They are willing to rearrange and make substitions and if you don't like something i.e. my dessert wine you can switch it up to champagne - which I did. Will definitely be going back."

"My wife and I recently returned to Daniel for our anniversary dinner and sat in the lounge area. It was wonderful. Pascal and Jessie gave us exceptional service and the food is always amazing."

"You get what you pay for: you pay handsomely, and get a dinner that you'll remember with pleasure and excitement for a very long time. The lounge area at Daniel is more casual than the formal dining room, but it's exceptionally comfortable, it's quiet and it has a casual chic that easily matches the studied elegance of the main room. The menu is the same, as are the prices. Note: if someone in your party has trouble with stairs, book this room, as it on the same level as the entrance; both the bar and the main dining room require going down a short flight (maybe 5 steps) of stairs."

"We sat in the lounge since I thought the menu would be a bit less expensive and perhaps smaller plates (we had been here before I thought I recalled such a menu). It turned out you could order a la carte from pretty much the regular $116 pre-fixe menu or order the pre-fixe (which ended up to be less expensive than a la carte). We didn't really go there wanting a 3-course meal and if we had, we would have chosen to eat in the main dining room. That was the notable disappointment. Most other fine restaurants in the city (Le Bernardin, for instance) have a lower priced, more "casual" lounge menu."

"I don't think it should be called lounge. That is very misleading because it is suit or maybe jacket minimum. When I called I asked the difference between the restaurant and lounge and they said the lounge is less formal. That was not true! It is not a lounge it is an added formal dining room. How embarrassing!"

"high-end service. rich, regal setting. great romantic spot. As adventurous foodies, we ordered the Tasting Menu with Wine pairings. Our service team was top-notch, gave us, and all at surrounding tables, the VIP treatment."

"Have been to Daniel's before and of course he never fails to amaze me. His frog legs were prepared so tastefully and deboned to perfection. The Lamb Chops were exquiste and full of flavor. We sat in the Lounge Seating for the first time and I have to say I did like sitting on the top floor of the bar area. It was very romantic and quite. I felt very intimate with my spouse and would recommend sitting in the lounge seating again."

"As always, food at Daniel was outstanding. Beautifully presented and creatively thought through. The Lounge is a cozy, more casual option to the main dining room with the same menu. Only drawback is that the tables are so close that you are part of neighboring conversations. This is certainly the rule, rather than the exception in NYC, but not usually at such a wonderful, high end restaurant. Our experience was compounded when we were seated next to a larger party with other tables open."

"Expensive but worth every penny. Lounge seating hard on people with bad backs as banquet 'bench' too soft and not enough back pillows. That said I'd return and request more back pillows!"
