"If you're planning a lunch to show appreciation to your staff and want to reward them with a fine dining experience this is the place to go! The food is wonderful and fit to impress. The service and ambience is top notch, plus there are private areas for more intimate gatherings. We highly recommend this restaurant and plan on taking our new business recruits there as well. "We are regulars at Sabor Divino and we were not disappointed on April 27, 2013. It was busy, but that is expected at a good restaurant on a Saturday night. I had the 3 courses special with wine flight. It was an excellent choice. Wine pairings were great, the amount of food was just right. My companions had soup followed by the boar and the lamb-goat cheese salad followed by the halibut with prawns. We were all very pleased with our selections. There was a guitarist playing, which adds to the European feel, and service was well paced. We will be back soon."

"Dined with a group of 5...we weren't very original as 3 of us had the Lobster tagliatelle, and the other 2 had the black spaghetti. We shared a charcuterie to start, it was very good...had a good selection of items that was great for 5 of us. The house made olives are to die for...wish they sold them to take home. Everyone enjoyed thier pastas, and I really loved my lobster one. It was loaded with prawns and lobster with a delicious sauce."

"Our experience at Sabor was outstanding. Food was great, service if somewhat slow was attentive and knowledgeable and the live entertainment gave the restaurant at great ambiance. Only complaint was the first table we were given was terrible, located in the very back corner of the restaurant. When we asked for a different table the staff cheerfully granted our request. I will go again particularly for the grilled calamari with chorizo and the salt cod."

"Today I was with a colleague of Portuguese descent who has been to this restaurant several times before. While the food is good, I was told it is more in the "style" of Portugal's cuisine, and a Canadianized version, than authentic family recipes. It is still a good restaurant to have a business lunch and the service was excellent. The restaurant was full but the tables are well spaced so you can carry on a normal conversation without being overheard. I asked about the private party spaces and the staff was happy to show me the various rooms. I had the tenderloin penne arabiatta special and that sauce can be acidic - this one was delicately balanced and lovely."

"No offense to our northern neighbors, but outside of Toronto and Vancouver I don't have high expectations when I've been to restaurants in other cities in Canada (don't order a hamburger in Canada if you like it any way but well done!). Sabor Divino was an unexpected surprise. Although a bit pricy (which I have also come to expect in Canada), the ambiance was lovely, service was attentive, and I enjoyed a very crisp and not overly dressed Caesar salad (with shaved not grated parmesan cheese) and well prespared smoked duck and mushroom risotto (often tricky in restaurants). They also offer several priced wine pours and "temptation" size deserts (small taste portions). Will definitely return on another visit to Edmonton."

"The food is excellent, waitress very pleasant and helpful. Only problem was that we waited a long long time for the entree to come out - the appetizers were fast but there was more than an hour wait between the appetizer and entree. By the time the entree came out, one of the dishes was cold. That was returned for a fresh one and although the restaurant apologized and did not charge us for it, we were really tired by the end of the weeknight."

"The food was as good as it always is but this is the first time that I've been to Sabor Divino and haven't been happy with the service. We asked our waiter to give us 1 minute to look at the menus and he never came back. We had to flag down a different waiter to grab him to take our orders. We then also had to wait quite some time to get our bill and for him to come back to take payment. This is not normal for Sabor Divino but was disappointing none the less, especially since I had brought 3 colleagues with me who were trying it for the first time."

"I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and was extremely impressed. It took us over a half hour just to narrow down what we would like to eat, because it all sounded so appetizing. The waiter was a great, the selections that he help us pick were amazing. We started with the tuna tartar which was probably the best I have ever had in the edmonton area. I had the fresh halibut and prawns which was is this to die for white wine cream sauce. The fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly (the chef even put the cream sauce on the side for me as I am lactose sensitive). My boyfriend tried the Chilean Seabass and polished off his plate with gusto. Overall a great experience."

"Food was very good. However the steak seemed like a rip off to just come with fries on the side. For 40.00 I would expect some vegetables. We were seated in the private group are and our server, although pleasant, was very absent during our meal. One of our guests even went and got the pitcher of water to fill our glasses as our waitress was nowhere to be found. They did attempt to make it up to us by giving everyone a free glass of port but it definitely put a damper on the evening. For those prices, one expects superior service ."

"I reserved a table for 10 (but ended up having 8 people show up) but still got the table that was reserved for a group dinner; I was very pleased with that. Too bad the little area didn't have a curtain or...half curtain, like equivalents at other restaurants. The service was excellent. For my entree, I ordered the linguini with crab. It was very tasty, until I got to the very end of the pasta, I found the last few strands of my pasta noodles in a small pool of oil... But it was still very delicious, and I wouldn't mind ordering the pasta again. As for the dessert, I ordered the tiramisu. Unlike other tiramisus I have tried in the past, I found this one had a much stronger alcohol content/taste than the others. Great birthday experience!"

"Went here for Edmonton Dining Week on a busy Friday night. In a nutshell, I was expecting great things from Sabor Divino but ended up being disappointed. We tried theire regular set menu ($25) and executive menu ($50). One of the main entrees, piri piri chicken, was overcooked. Meat was dry and tough to chew. This should be one of their best entrees. After all, they are a portugese influenced restaurant. My $10 Romados portugese chicken meal in Montreal was 100x better. Best part of our meal were the desserts (chocolate cayenne mousse and portugese style creme caramel). Come here for the atmosphere, live pianist and waiter singing (sang two songs). But at the high prices they charge, beware."

"Aside from enjoying a delicious meal and beverages, and the pleasure of dining with friends we had taken up a table for some time on a Saturday night, but not once felt rushed out. They never gave us the impression that we might be taking up space, and had us rush our meal to fit in other diners. There was appropriate timing between the appetizers, main meals, and desserts, thus allowing us to actually have and enjoy a 'dining' experience. Just thought that that was a nice touch, as so often one seems to be on a 'schedule' in some restaurants. Thanks again Sabor for a great night out!"

"While the food was quite good, the service fell short. our waiter was extremely unattentave and disinterested. he was unengaging to the point i felt like we had done something wrong. between courses, we had to get drink refills at the bar ourselves, due to lack of service. I expect more after spending $250 for 2 people."

"There were six of us in our group - the service was a bit of a surprise, as we waited for a long time even to give our orders. But the food was really good and everyone enjoyed their dishes. You certainly expect good food for the prices. When it came to paying our bill, it was unusually complicated and the communication with our server was a bit of a challenge - as we tried to pay for the wine separately from the food, for a business dinner, which he told us we could not do, and then eventually did it anyway. If you have patience, and love good food, I would still recommend it."

"A great lunch spot for the downtown office crowd. Get there early - before noon to ensure faster service as this popular spot gets filled up quickly. My ladies lunch group tried a variety of dishes including a risotto, the fish special and a couple of pastas. All well prepared and presented. Just enough food to fill us up without feeling too stuffed. Average per person with a glass of wine, approx. $30each.(incl tip & tax)"

"First time there and had dinner with a friend who had dined there twice before. The waiter not only remembered her but treated us royally. Phenomenal service and good food. There have private dining rooms for groups and even the main dining area is nicely spaced so definitely a great place to enjoy conversation. We had the chicken risotto which was perfectly prepared. This is a milder dish, perfect for my friend but my mistake in choice, there are stronger flavours on the menu. Don't get me wrong, it was still delicious. I love that they offer a half price "temptation" size for most of their desserts. We had three and they were excellent. The prices are in line with fine dining and they do deliver."

"We brought six friends with us to try out your restaurant and we all really enjoyed the night! Service was very good and our meals were good. I had the lamb and it was excellent. Cooked exactly the way I like it.
The only complaint we had was the noise level. We could not here our friends across from us.
Loved the atmosphere with the amazing piano player.
We will definitely be back!!"

"The entire experience was 5 star. Conversation level music, great wine and awesome food. My husband and I shared the seafood platter for 2 which is appropriately priced at just over $100. Scallops, prawn in a spicy piri piri, calamari cooked to perfection, clams, mussels and a whole lobster piled high in a buttery sauce with lobster risotto and two salads to start. Simply amazing. The lobster and lobster risotto were the standouts. Our group of 4 ate from it (along with their entrees) and there was still some left. It is expensive but worth it. Can't wait to return and taste more!"
