Welcome to La Strada –“The Street”–A Mediterranean bistro inspired by Italian, Turkish, Moroccan, Spanish and Greek kitchens. The atmosphere is a combination of my travels and experiences with the people, the cultures, and most importantly the cuisines.
Drawing from the Roman and Ottoman empires-from ages ago- we combine extra virgin olive oil, whole grains, artisan cheeses, and fine wines. The food, wine, art, and music from the streets have impacted lives throughout the world in the past, present and future to come.

"My entree had so much raw garlic ON it, that it made my mouth burn. There was no mention of garlic in the menu description. Wrong entree served to my companion. No check back by waitress until after we'd finished eating. Would not recommend to friends."

"My wife and I live an hour away and make a special trip to dine here often. Food is excellent and steak melts in your mouth. Experience is what I assume would be like in Italy. Can't wait to return. Service is excellent. Highly recommend ."

"My husband & I were sat at a table that might accommodate a table lamp ! I requested a slightly larger table and all the 2 seat larger tables were filled so we were seated at a table for four.......After we were there for awhile, the hostess came up to our table and we were informed that "just because we may not look busy RIGHT NOW, we have reservations that may need this table " we said that we would agree to move to a table downstairs but were told "it's ok THIS TIME but next time we wouldn't be "....and I can't even remember what was said. This was so unprofessional and costumer "unfriendly" ..However, the food was definitely worth another try....AND,,we also had reservations......."

"First time here. Interesting menu, very Italian based. Didn't see much
of the Morrocan, Greek, etc-inspired dishes. We ordered pasta dishes,
and both were excellent. Tiramisu was terrific. Very reasonable
and you can order 1/2 orders of pasta dishes. Didn't really like sitting
up in the "balcony." Found it a little cramped and lacking any atmosphere.
Will sit downstairs next time. Waiter was very knowledgable, attentive
and very funny. Felt like an old friend. Definitley will go back."

"My wife and I used to love La Strada, having gone no fewer than eight times in 2010 and 2011. The food was solid, the service was delightful, the interior was unique, and the ambiance was pleasant. So we chose La Strada as my parents' anniversary dinner location over the weekend, and we were very disappointed. We were begrudgingly taken upstairs by an uninviting hostess, seated in what felt like a warehouse stockroom, and served by a guy who was stammering out of nervousness. (And before you say he must have been new, I should tell you that he was training a recent hire!) Though the food had taken a slight downturn, the service and ambiance--what used to make the place special--were downright sorry. I hope Tarantino can right the ship."

"The food did not live up to expectations of what is n East 4Th Street. For the amount of money they charge you know you are still hungry afterwards, but wow the main course a baby wouldn't been satisfied. One good note the Greek Salad was not only huge it was good. Our server was ok even though when it came time to pay the bill, no pen."

"Met my friend for dinner last Saturday. We chose this restaurant because it is on E 4th and Cleveland Independents had a gift card special. We were so pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food - delicious, and the price. 2 entrees, 4 glasses of house wine, and 1 salad was only $90. Great prices for a good dinner; especially considering this is just 2 doors down from Lola's. Only negative was the noise level. Did not deter us, but it was a bit loud."

"Drinks were very good. The chicken Marsala was not what I expected...it was better. Not a pounded thin filet, but a thick piece of incredibly tasting chicken in a tiny bit of broth keeping the wonderful risotto moist. The sautéed spinach was very fresh but could benefit from a bit more garlic. My table mates regretted ordering the small portion of lamb as they would have loved more. The restaurant is noisy and bustling, but I would definitely return. Enjoyed the evening tremendously."

"I had been to La Strada before and jumped at the chance to go back. This time, we received amazing service! Our waiter was friendly, quick and never left us hanging. Before we realized we needed more bread or another beer, he was already delivering it. Considering we were seating on the second level, he was running up and down the stairs and made it all look effortless.
My food was good, but not something I would "write home about". The half rack of lamb only yeilded a few small bites of meat and the plate was piled high with quinoa to make up for it. The price didn't justify the food I was given, but I can't say anything bad about the taste or preparation."

"We made a last-minute reservation at La Strada before heading to Playhouse Square for a show, and our waiter was fantastic at moving us along at a perfect pace. He made an excellent wine suggestion for my meal, and we were both very happy with our dishes. My fiance ordered the pan-seared halibut special and I had the wedding soup, which was slightly peppery and delicious, and half order of the basil-pesto pasta dish, which was excellent. I love the Mediterranean atmosphere with the low lighting, colorful lamps and streams of lights and old world feel. We were on the second floor balcony overlooking the rest of the restaurant, so it was a very romantic and intimate dinner for two."

"With so many wonderful restaurants in Cleveland, I would not recommend this one. Our spinach salad had far too much dressing and looked more like someone had poured a bag of spinach onto a plate then tossed in a few chuncks of goat cheese and then smothered all of it with dressing. We sent the first one back and then just didn't have the appetite for the second one. The menu was very limited and had the restaurants next door not been fully booked, we would have left. It was also extremely noisy. Not a place to go for a quiet night out. I'd skip this place."

"Came for dinner after the theater. Good food, attentive service. Never expected an Italian/Mediterranean restaurant to have extremely loud hip-hop "music" blaring and videos of caribbean/S. American women jiggling their derrieres projected 20 feet high on the wall. It was funny for about 30 seconds, then it became merely annoying."

"Overall, we had a very good experience. The food was very good, although my rack of lamb which was ordered rare was more like medium. My wife's chicken Marsala was the best we have ever tasted. We had a terrific server named Zan, who was attentive to the perfect degree and very personable. We were seated on the upper level overlooking the kitchen, and unfortunately, it was very noisy with lots of clanging and banging of pots and pans. We plan to return, but next time we will request a table somewhere further away from the kitchen."

"We needed a place for dinner on Easter Sunday and there wasn't much else open that day. We thought we'd try it - had never been there before. I had watery over-cooked spaghetti marinara. And my husband had pizza that gave him heartburn. The waiter kept disappearing and we didn't get our wine until after the salads had been served. We'll never go back."

"Arrived prior to 9pm, the place is really nice looking and the hostess was very polite.
While the food was decent, it's not craveable.
The waiter seemed to forget he had a table to wait on as he forgot to check back for drink refills. We mentioned this to him, his apology was to bring some fruit with chocolate drizzle, but still didn't refill the drinks.
Another waiter or maybe manager gave us a gift certificate to make up for it, we will see if their service is better next time."

"I have been here other times in the past and had wonderful meals, so I decided to plan a group outing here for my birthday. Our server Zane was just wonderful, but the food was less than impressive. They had taken my favorite lamb tangine off the menu so I ordered the chicken masala with mushroom risotto in it's place. I ended up with dry, unseasoned chicken and crunchy tasteless rice. With all of the wonderful places to eat on East 4th and in nearby Tremont, I will not be wasting my evening choosing this establishment for dinner again."

"The ambiance and service was very good. We were underimpressed with the food. We got a glass of wine during happy hour and though the wine was good, the pour was very small. the italian wedding soup was odd. The broth had good flavor but the fresh lettuce and poached egg were odd. the meatballs were ok. We both had salads...the greek and the mixed green. these were VERY delicious. Very fresh and flavorful. The Americana pizza was too greasy. And the strawberries were a nice touch but since berries are out of season, they had no flavor. This is a nice idea but you may want to follow seasons."

"The atmosphere is very unique and a great place for a romantic date night. We sat upstairs and ended up being forgotten by our waiter! We were putting on our coats after waiting 20 minutes for the waiter to return. We ended up getting a free dessert and 10% off the check, but it will be difficult to convince my boyfriend to ever go back there."

"Service was aweful and food was fair at best. I did go during restraunt week and there were a lot of people out, but we sat there for an hour and a half before we were able to flag down our server and put in our main course order (not joking). And when we were putting in our order our server turned her back and walked away before we finished ordering. Also, by the time we got to desert we could tell it wasn't made there becuase the tiramasu was still frozen on the inside. I will never go to La Strada again."

"We went with a group of 6 during restaurant week and we found them to be overwhelmed. We gave ourselves 2 1/2 hours to get to a concert at the House of Blues around the corner and we were 10 minutes late. Terry, the owner, spent some time with us which was appreciated but it didn't make up for the slow service. At least one order was wrong when delivered. My chicken was dry so I rate the entree poor but I did like my salad and dessert that were part of the special $30/three-course deal. We had fun but they came up lacking overall."

"The food was amazing! We all really enjoyed our salads and entrées. Our serving didn't come to the table that much to get us another round of drinks so we had to go to the bar but other then that it was really wonderful experience. We will definitely come back!"

"My wife and I shared a Greek Salad and I had the seafood pasta and my wife had the surf and turf. We went on Valentines's Day and were surprised how many open tables were at the restaurant. I liked the bread and oil to begin the meal but nobody ever offered to give us more when we ran out. My wife and I both enjoyed the food and were pleased with the taste and presentation. The special dessert in the shape of hearts was a nice touch. I thought the service was good, but not great."

"Nine of us went to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our server, Zan, was great and helped make the occasion even more special. Chef was a little bit in the weeds as to timing of food, despite that the food was excellent. Try the mussels and calamari as an appetizer, spot on! We had the hanger steak, rack of lamb,fettucini with gorgonzola and pancetta, pesto pasta and NY strip steak. All were unique and excellent. Food presentation was also good. Despite the timing snafu, everyone went out of their way to ensure an enjoyable dining experience. The owner also stopped by to make sure all was good. Would definetely return! P.S. Crusty warm bread served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar was some of the best bread i've had in a long time."

"I'm gonna keep this short and sweet. We visited La Strada on Sunday, Feb 11 at 4:30 pm before heading over to Playhouse Square for a show. My BF and I enjoy trying restaurants that we haven't eaten at before. We heard about La Strada on "restaurant.com" and decided to give it a try. We also made reservations via "open table" and asked for a quite, out of the way table. The maitre d' sat us in the upper "loft" over looking the entire restaurant. The decor is beautiful and inviting. The seating is warm and intimate. The service is attentive but not smothering. The menu is unique but familiar enough not to scare you away. The food was presented beautifully. This will not be our last visit."

"The service was great, I saw some reviews that were contrary to this but I assume that was just one or two bad wait staff that has been replaced. Everyone, not just our server, seemed to be working hard to make the experience great. We changed a res from 10 to 20 and they handled it in stride. It was a very nice experience."
