"On a recommendation from a family member, we had Saturday breakfast at Fossett's. It is on the grounds of Keswick Hall, which is a beautiful resort. The attentive wait staff made us comfortable and want for nothing. Ginger pancakes. Yum! Trout. Delicious!

"Fossets is a delight, easily one of the best restaurants within 250 miles. All of the items we dined on were deliciously prepared and creatively presented. The wine list runs from good to over the top expensive. Service could have used a touch more professionalism and the gent who I assume was the manager could warm up a bit."

"This was the second visit. With a different purpose -- we were there to discuss business matters. Again, it is worthy of the praise. The three meals were delicious, the staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. This time we enjoyed cocktails on the veranda before dinner and it was delightful."

"We were seated by the large windows for the view of the grounds which was lovely. The dining room, however, had more of a hotel banquet room feel than fine dining. Service was professional even though it came with a bit too much awe for the chef and a bit too little warmth toward the customer. The wine list is extensive, but the wines were marked up beyond even the usual restaurant markup. A local VA wine selling for $10 bottle at the winery was $40. The menu is very limited and there are no specials. The basic steak, fish, chicken, veggie, and pork entrees are gussied up with a sometimes discordant sounding varnish of sauces, finishes, or sides which often seemed like experiment for experiment's sake. The food is local and seasonal."

"What a wonderful surprise to find a restaurant that the patrons actually feel like they need to dress for dinner. The experience was outstanding as was the food and the staff. "I've been here twice for breakfast and each time I've brought family members who are from out of town and they've all complimented how amazing the food is here and how the scenery is so peaceful and calm. It's definitely one of our favorite restaurant! The staff is extra friendly and attentive while the food is beautifully presented while tasting great. Highly recommended!"

"The food was delicious to start. Richard's special wine selections in the wine list are hard to ignore and will satisfy anyone. I tried their special fish dish that I was not thrilled about, somewhat fishy but the presentation and sides that accompanied my dish were great. Richard spoke to us directly about his wines and helped with the recommendations. Staff was friendly and polite. My gf tried the rabbit and parpadelle which were awesome smaller plates. It's not a lot of food which I am happy about. The focus was on the quality of the food. I'll be coming back."
