Hooded Merganser at Penticton Lakeside Resort
The Hooded Merganser was designed to provide guests with a lakeside experience like no other. Vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows have made us the place to be during storm watching season. The outdoor patio is incredible during the warmer months. The menu features delicious contemporary cuisine cooked to perfection in the open kitchen. "Our server was polite and the wine we ordered was excellent and serving it was timely. However it was 90 minutes before our food arrived. I had to wait a further 10 minutes after the others because the stated they overlooked my steak and had to prepare another. The 8 ounce sirloins three if us had were prepared to our wishes but they were very thin and "looked tired".
My son, who was with us, had a similar experience with timing a month earlier. We had hoped it was a one off.
In past we have enjoyed this spot but with two bad experiences behind us we will be reluctant to return."

"We made our reservation online, received a confirmation, then received a "reminder" email, however when we showed up for our 7:15 p.m. reservation for six people Thursday, April 25th the restaurant front desk had absolutely no idea who we were as there was no record of our reservation. We were told "we will find a spot for you" which was somewhat embarrassing.
The food and service however was wonderful."

"My wife and I were here for our 25th anniversary dinner. We had I quiet, intimate booth that had a beautiful view up the lake. We're not really wine drinkers but we had a glass of local Merlot that was nice. We enjoyed the rack of lamb, it was delicious.

"Eaten there many times but this was my first brunch and I was amazingly surprised, it was a fabulance experience for each of us, everyone ranted and raved about the food, the service is superb, endless coffee cup which everyone likes.
